Псалом 40

1 Руководителю хора Псалом Давида

2 Блажен тот, кто о слабом и бедном помнит, — в день бедствия спасет его ГОСПОДЬ,

3 защитит его ГОСПОДЬ, сохранит жизнь ему; счастливым будут звать его на земле. Бога просить будут: «Не отдавай его на произвол врагам».

4 ГОСПОДЬ и на одре болезни его поддержит. Боже, Ты и постель его всю сделаешь для него мягкой.

5 А что до меня, я говорю: «Сжалься надо мной, ГОСПОДИ, исцели меня, ибо против Тебя согрешил я».

6 Со злобой враги мои рассуждают обо мне: «Когда он умрет, когда о нем вспоминать перестанут?»

7 Если и приходит кто меня навестить — говорит пустое; такие всё худое слагают в уме своем и, выйдя от меня, о том рассказывают повсюду.

8 Все ненавидящие меня друг с другом перешептываются обо мне и, приписывая мне наихудшее, говорят:

9 «Дела его плохи: он слег и больше ему не встать».

10 Даже друг мой, которому я доверял, тот, что ел хлеб мой, — восстал на меня.

11 Сжалься надо мной, ГОСПОДИ, дай подняться мне, чтобы смог я воздать им.

12 И тогда узнаю, что я угоден Тебе, что не восторжествуют надо мной враги мои.

13 А меня Ты хранишь в чистоте моей и даешь мне вовек пред Тобой пребывать. * * *

14 Слава ГОСПОДУ, Богу Израиля, во веки веков! Аминь, да! Аминь!

2 He brought5927 me up also out of an horrible7588 pit,953 out of the miry3121 clay,2916 and set6965 my feet7272 on a rock,5553 and established3559 my goings.838

3 And he has put5414 a new2319 song7892 in my mouth,6310 even praise8416 to our God:430 many7227 shall see7200 it, and fear,3372 and shall trust982 in the LORD.3068

4 Blessed835 is that man1397 that makes7760 the LORD3068 his trust,4009 and respects6437 not the proud,7295 nor3808 such as turn7750 aside7847 to lies.3576

5 Many,7227 O LORD3068 my God,430 are your wonderful6381 works which you have done,6213 and your thoughts4284 which are to us-ward:413 they cannot408 be reckoned up in order6186 to you: if I would declare5046 and speak1696 of them, they are more6105 than can be numbered.5608

6 Sacrifice2077 and offering4503 you did not desire;2654 my ears241 have you opened:3738 burnt5930 offering and sin2401 offering have you not required.7592

10 I have not hid3680 your righteousness6666 within8432 my heart;3820 I have declared559 your faithfulness530 and your salvation:8668 I have not concealed3582 your loving kindness2617 and your truth571 from the great7227 congregation.6951

11 Withhold3607 not you your tender mercies7356 from me, O LORD:3068 let your loving kindness2617 and your truth571 continually8548 preserve5341 me.

12 For innumerable369 4557 evils7451 have compassed661 me about: my iniquities5771 have taken5381 hold5381 on me, so that I am not able3201 to look7200 up; they are more6105 than the hairs8185 of my head:7218 therefore my heart3820 fails5800 me.
