IsaiahChapter 17 |
|
1 THE prophecy concerning the fall of Damascus. Behold, Damascus shall cease to be a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. |
|
2 The cities of Adoer shall be forsaken; they shall be for flocks which shall lie down in them, and none shall harm them. |
|
3 The might also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Ephraim will be like the glory of the children of Israel, says the LORD of hosts. |
|
4 And in that day it shall come to pass that the glory of Jacob shall wane, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean. |
|
5 And it shall be as when the reaper harvests standing sheaves, and gathers the ears in his arms; and it shall be as he that gathers ears in the valley of Rephaim. |
|
6 Yet gleaning shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five on the outermost branches thereof, says the LORD God of Israel. |
|
7 In that day a man shall trust in his Maker, and his eyes will look to the Holy One of Israel. |
|
8 And he shall not trust in the altars, the work of his hands and the work which his fingers have made, neither shall he look at the idols or the images. |
|
9 In that day shall his strong cities be like a desolate well, and like an emirate which was left destitute before the children of Israel; so you will become a desolation. |
|
10 Because you have forgotten the God your Saviour, and have not been mindful of the rock of your strength; therefore you shall plant pleasant plants and shall graft them with strange branches; |
|
11 On the day that you plant them, they shall put forth blossoms, and in the morning your seed shall flourish, but the harvest shall be a ruin in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow. |
|
12 Woe to the armies of many people, which make a noise like the roaring of the seas! And to the rushing of nations, that rush like the rushing of mighty waters! |
|
13 He shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off and shall be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like dry grass before the whirlwind. |
|
14 And behold at eveningtide violence; and before the morning they are no more. This is the portion of our oppressor, and the lot of those who plunder us. |

2 Поки́нені будуть міста Ароеру, для чері́д вони будуть, і ті будуть лежати, і не буде кому їх споло́шити. |
|
3 Заникне тверди́ня з Єфрема, і царство з Дамаску, і решта Ара́му — будуть, як слава синів Ізраїля, говорить Господь Савао́т! |
|
4 І станеться в день той, слава Якова зни́діє, і ви́худне товщ його тіла. |
|
5 І буде, немов би жнець збирає збіжжя, а раме́но його жне коло́сся; і буде, немов би збирають коло́сся в долині Рефаїм. |
|
6 І на ньо́му зоста́нуться за́лишки з пло́дів, як при оббива́нні оливки: дві-три я́гідки на верхові́тті, чотири-п'ять на галу́зках плі́дної деревини, говорить Господь, Бог Ізраїлів. |
|
7 Того дня зве́рне люди́на зір до свого́ Творця, а очі її на Святого Ізраїлевого дивитися будуть. |
|
8 І не буде зверта́тись люди́на до же́ртівників, чину рук своїх, і не буде дивитись на те, що́ зробили були її пальці, ні на аше́ри, ані на стовпи на честь сонця. |
|
9 Того дня її сильні міста будуть, мов ті опустілі місця лісу та верхі́в'я гір, що їх позоставлено перед синами Ізраїля, і руїною станеться те. |
|
10 Бо забула ти, до́чко Ізраїля, Бога спасі́ння свого, і не пам'ятала про Скелю сили своєї. Тому́ то са́диш розсадника приємного, і пересаджуєш туди чужу виноградину. |
|
11 Того дня, як садила, ти обгороди́ла його, і про посів свій подба́ла, щоб рано зацвіло́. Але жни́во минулося в день слабости та невиго́йного болю! |
|
12 Біда, рев числе́нних наро́дів, — гурко́чуть, як гу́ркіт морі́в, і галас племе́н, — вони галасують, як гу́ркіт міцної води. |
|
13 Галасують племе́на, як гу́ркіт міцно́ї води, та Він їм погро́зить, і кожен дале́ко втече, і буде гнаний, немов та поло́ва на го́рах за вітром, і мов перед вихром перекотипо́ле. |
|
14 Як вечір насуне — то й жах ось, поки ра́нок настане — не буде його. Це талан наших грабівникі́в, і це доля дери́людів наших! |

10 Бо забула ти, до́чко Ізраїля, Бога спасі́ння свого, і не пам'ятала про Скелю сили своєї. Тому́ то са́диш розсадника приємного, і пересаджуєш туди чужу виноградину. |

11 Того дня, як садила, ти обгороди́ла його, і про посів свій подба́ла, щоб рано зацвіло́. Але жни́во минулося в день слабости та невиго́йного болю! |

12 Біда, рев числе́нних наро́дів, — гурко́чуть, як гу́ркіт морі́в, і галас племе́н, — вони галасують, як гу́ркіт міцної води. |

13 Галасують племе́на, як гу́ркіт міцно́ї води, та Він їм погро́зить, і кожен дале́ко втече, і буде гнаний, немов та поло́ва на го́рах за вітром, і мов перед вихром перекотипо́ле. |

14 And behold at eveningtide violence; and before the morning they are no more. This is the portion of our oppressor, and the lot of those who plunder us. |
14 Як вечір насуне — то й жах ось, поки ра́нок настане — не буде його. Це талан наших грабівникі́в, і це доля дери́людів наших! |
