Chapter 25

1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things, and given faithful counsel from afar, amen.

2 For thou hast reduced a city to a heap, the fortified city to a ruin; the palace of the strangers and the city are never to be built again.

3 Therefore many peoples shall praise thee, the city of the mighty nations shall worship thee.

4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a helper to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat; for the blast of the mighty ones is as a storm against the wall.

5 Thou shalt blot out the pride of aliens as the shadow at noonday, and as the heat is blotted out by the shade of a cloud; thus the branch of the mighty ones shall be humbled.

6 And on this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make for all peoples a lavish feast, a feast of old and rich wines, from the things that belong to our heavenly Saviour and the Mighty One.

7 And he will destroy on this mountain the prestige of the ruler who ruled over all the peoples, because of the slaughter which was made among all the peoples.

8 He will swallow up death in victory for ever; and the LORD God of hosts will wipe away the tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people he shall take away from off all the earth; for the LORD has spoken it.

9 And it shall be said on that day, Lo, this is the LORD our God; we have waited for him, and he shall save us; this is the LORD our God, we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

10 For on this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down with the threshing sled.

11 And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as a swimmer spreads forth his hands to swim; and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their bands.

12 And the fortress of treason of your rebellious men and your strong walls he shall tear down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust.

2 Denn du machest die Stadt5892 zum Steinhaufen, die feste1219 Stadt7151, daß sie auf einem Haufen1530 liegt, der Fremden2114 Palast759, daß nicht mehr5769 eine Stadt5892 sei und7760 nimmer mehr gebauet werde1129.

3 Darum ehret dich ein mächtig Volk5971, die Städte7151 gewaltiger6184 Heiden1471 fürchten3372 dich.

4 Denn du bist der Geringen1800 Stärke4581, der Armen34 Stärke4581 in Trübsal6862, eine Zuflucht4268 vor dem Ungewitter2230, ein Schatten6738 vor der Hitze2721, wenn die Tyrannen6184 wüten7307, wie ein Ungewitter2230 wider eine Wand7023.

5 Du demütigest der Fremden2114 Ungestüm7588 wie die Hitze2721 in einem dürren Ort6724, daß die Hitze2721 die Rebe der Tyrannen6184 verderbe, und die Wolke5645 dennoch Schatten6738 gebe.

6 Und der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635 wird allen Völkern5971 machen6213 auf diesem Berge2022 ein fett8081 Mahl4960, ein Mahl4960 von reinem Wein8105, von Fett8081, von Mark4229, von Wein8105, darin keine Hefe ist2212.

7 Und er wird auf6440 diesem Berge2022 das Hüllen wegtun1104, damit alle Völker5971 verhüllet sind3874, und die Decke4541, damit alle Heiden1471 zugedeckt sind5259.

8 Denn er5493 wird den Tod4194 verschlingen1104 ewiglich5331. Und der HErr136 HErr3069 wird die Tränen1832 von allen Angesichtern abwischen4229 und wird aufheben die Schmach2781 seines Volks5971 in6440 allen Landen776; denn der HErr3068 hat‘s1696 gesagt.

9 Zu der Zeit3117 wird man559 sagen: Siehe, das ist unser GOtt430, auf den wir harren6960, und er wird uns helfen3467; das ist der HErr3068, auf den wir harren6960, daß wir uns freuen8055 und fröhlich1523 seien in seinem Heil3444.

10 Denn die4325 Hand3027 des HErrn3068 ruhet auf5117 diesem Berge2022. Moab4124 aber wird unter ihm zerdroschen werden1758, wie Stroh4963 zerdroschen wird, und wie Kot.

11 Und er wird seine Hände3027 ausbreiten6566 mitten unter7130 sie, wie sie ein Schwimmer7811 ausbreitet6566 zu schwimmen; und wird ihre Pracht1346 niedrigen mit den Armen698 seiner Hände3027

12 und776 die hohe Festung eurer Mauern2346 beugen7817, niedrigen und in den Staub6083 zu Boden werfen5060.
