Chapter 39

1 AT that time Merodach-baladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and presents to Hezekiah; for he had heard that he had been sick and was healed.

2 And Hezekiah was glad to receive them, and showed them his treasure house, the silver and the gold and the spices and the precious ointment and all the house of his armor and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house nor in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.

3 Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah and said to him. What did these men say to you? And from whence did they come to you? And Hezekiah said, They have come from a far country to me, even from Babylon.

4 Then said he, What have they seen in your house? And Hezekiah answered, They have seen all the things that are in my house; I have left nothing in my house that I have not showed them.

5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:

6 Behold, the days are coming, when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left, says the LORD.

7 And some of your sons that shall issue from you, whom you shall beget, they shall take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

8 Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which you have spoken. For there shall be peace and truth in my days.

2 И обрадовался8055 посланным Езекия,2396 и показал7200 им дом1004 сокровищ5238 своих, серебро3701 и золото,2091 и ароматы,1314 и драгоценные2896 масти,8081 весь оружейный3627 свой дом1004 и все, что находилось4672 в сокровищницах214 его; ничего не осталось,1697 чего не показал7200 бы им Езекия2396 в доме1004 своем и во всем владении4475 своем.

3 И пришел935 пророк5030 Исаия3470 к царю4428 Езекии2396 и сказал559 ему: что говорили559 эти люди?582 и откуда370 они приходили935 к тебе? Езекия2396 сказал:559 из далекой7350 земли776 приходили935 они ко мне, из Вавилона.894

4 И сказал559 Исаия: что видели7200 они в доме1004 твоем? Езекия2396 сказал:559 видели7200 все, что есть в доме1004 моем; ничего не осталось в сокровищницах214 моих, чего я не показал7200 бы им.

5 И сказал559 Исаия3470 Езекии:2396 выслушай8085 слово1697 Господа3068 Саваофа:6635

6 вот, придут935 дни,3117 и все, что есть в доме1004 твоем и что собрали686 отцы1 твои до сего дня,3117 будет5375 унесено5375 в Вавилон;894 ничего не останется,3498 говорит559 Господь.3068

7 И возьмут3947 из сыновей1121 твоих, которые произойдут3318 от тебя, которых ты родишь,3205 — и они будут евнухами5631 во дворце1964 царя4428 Вавилонского.894

8 И сказал559 Езекия2396 Исаии:3470 благо2896 слово1697 Господне,3068 которое ты изрек;1696 потому что, присовокупил559 он, мир7965 и благосостояние571 пребудут во дни3117 мои.
