IsaiahChapter 5 |
|
1 NOW I will sing to my well-beloved a song of my beloved concerning his vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard on the corner of a fertile land; |
|
2 He cultivated it and fenced it and planted it with the choicest vines, and built a watchtower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress in it; and he expected that it should bring forth grapes, but it brought forth wild grapes. |
|
3 And now, O men of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, judge between me and my vineyard. |
|
4 What more could have been done to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I expected that it should bring forth grapes, it brought forth wild grapes. |
|
5 And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard; I will demolish its tower, and it shall be for spoil; and break down its fence, and it shall be trodden down; |
|
6 And I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall spring up in it briers and thorns; I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it. |
|
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant; and I looked for justice, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry. |
|
8 Woe to those who trespass the boundaries between houses, who remove the landmarks between the fields, to steal the land, that they may dwell alone in the midst of the earth! |
|
9 In my ears said the LORD of hosts, Of a truth, it has been heard, that many houses shall be desolate, because there will be no one to dwell in them. |
|
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield but one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield but an ephah. |
|
11 Woe to them who rise up early in the morning, and run after strong drink; that continue drinking until night, till wine inflames them! |
|
12 They drink wine while listening to the harps, timbrels, tambourines, and flutes; but they do not regard the works of the LORD, neither consider the deeds of his hands. |
|
13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their dead are multiplied because of the famine, and have been overcome with thirst. |
|
14 Therefore Sheol has enlarged itself, and opened its mouth without measure: and the glorious men, the honorable men, and the mighty men shall descend into it. |
|
15 And the mean man shall be humbled, and the mighty man shall be brought down, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: |
|
16 But the LORD of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and the Holy God shall be sanctified in righteousness. |
|
17 Then shall the lambs feed there in their usual fashion, and the waste places that shall be rebuilt shall be the property of the rightful owners. |
|
18 Woe to them that spin out their iniquities like a long rope, and their sins are like a bridle on the neck of a heifer; |
|
19 Who say, Let the LORD make speed, and hasten his works, that we may see them; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near, and let it come, that we may know it! |
|
20 Woe to them who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! |
|
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight! |
|
22 Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and strong men who mix strong drink; |
|
23 Who justify the guilty because of his bribe, and take away justice from the righteous! |
|
24 Therefore as the fire devours the stubble and the flame consumes the chaff, so they shall be consumed by the flame, and their root shall be as dust; and their blossom shall go up like chaff, because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts and despised the command of the Holy One of Israel. |
|
25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he has stretched forth his hand against them, and has smitten them: and the mountains trembled; and their carcasses were like mud in the streets. For all this his anger has not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still. |
|
26 And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from afar and will whistle to them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come swiftly with speed. |
|
27 They shall not be weary nor stumble, they shall not slumber nor sleep, neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the lace of their shoes be broken; |
|
28 Their arrows are sharp and their bows are bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind. |
|
29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, and like the young lions that roar, and take hold on the prey and carry it off; and none shall deliver it. |
|
30 And in that day he shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea; and if they look to the land, behold, there shall be darkness and distress, and the light shall be darkened with thick darkness. |

2 І обкопав Він його́, й від камі́ння очистив його, і виноградом добі́рним його засади́в, і ба́шту поставив посеред його́, і ви́тесав у ньому чави́ло, і чекав, що роди́тиме він виноград, — та він уроди́в дикі я́годи! |
|
3 Тепер же ти, єрусалимський мешка́нче та мужу юдейський, розсудіть но між Мною й Моїм виноградником: |
|
4 що́ ще можна вчинити було́ для Мого виноградника, але Я не зробив того в ньому? Чому́ Я чекав, що родитиме він виноград, а він уроди́в дикі я́годи? |
|
5 А тепер завідо́млю Я вас, що́ зроблю́ для Свого виноградника: живоплі́т його ви́кину, і він буде на зни́щення, горо́жу його розвалю́, і він на пото́птання бу́де, |
|
6 зроблю́ Я загу́бу йому, — він не буде обти́наний ані підса́пуваний, — і виросте те́рня й будя́ччя на ньому, а хма́рам звелю́, щоб дощу не давали на нього! |
|
7 Бо виноградник Господа Саваота — то Ізра́їлів дім, а муж Юди — коха́ний Його саджане́ць. Сподівавсь правосу́ддя, та ось кроволи́ття, сподівавсь справедливости Він, та ось зойк. |
|

9 В мої уші сказав був Госпо́дь Савао́т: Направду, — багато домів попусто́шені бу́дуть, великі та добрі, і не буде мешка́нця для них. |
|
10 Бо десять заго́нів землі виноградника ба́та одно́го вро́дять, а насіння одно́го хоме́ра поро́дить ефу. |
|
11 Горе тим, що встають рано вра́нці і женуть за напо́єм п'янки́м, і трива́ють при нім аж до ве́чора, щоб вином розпаля́тись! |
|
12 І ста́лася ци́тра та а́рфа, бу́бон та сопі́лка й вино — за їхню гу́лянку, а на ді́ло Господнє не дивляться, не вбача́ють Його́ чину рук. |
|
13 Тому піде наро́д Мій на вигна́ння непередба́чено, і вельмо́жі його голодува́тимуть, а на́товп його — ви́сохне з пра́гнення. |
|
14 Тому́ то розши́рив шео́л пожадли́вість свою і безмірно розкрив свою пащу, і зі́йде до нього його пишнота́, і його на́товп, і гу́ркіт його, й ті, що тішаться в ньому. |
|
15 І люди́на пони́житься, і упоко́риться муж, а очі високих пони́кнуть, |
|
16 а Господь Саваот возвели́читься в су́ді, і Бог Святий ви́явить святість Свою в справедливості! |
|
17 І па́стися бу́дуть овечки, немов би на лу́ці своїй, а зоста́влене з ситих чужі поїдя́ть. |
|
18 Горе тим, що вину притяга́ють до себе шнура́ми марно́ти, а гріх — як моту́ззям від воза, |
|
19 та кажуть: „Хай ква́питься Він, хай прина́глить Свій чин, щоб ми бачили, а постано́ва Святого Ізраїлевого хай набли́зиться і нехай при́йде — і пізна́ємо ми“! |
|
20 Горе тим, що зло називають добро́м, а добро — злом, що ставлять темно́ту за світло, а світло — за те́мряву, що ставлять гірке́ за солодке, а солодке — за гірке́! |
|
21 Горе мудрим у власних оча́х та розумним перед собою сами́м! |
|
22 Горе тим, що хоро́брі винце́ попива́ти, і силачі на міша́ння п'янко́го напо́ю, |
|
23 що несправедливого чи́нять в суді за хаба́р справедливим, а праведність праведного усува́ють від нього. |
|
24 Тому́, як огне́нний язик пожира́є стерню́, а від по́лум'я ни́кне трава, — отак спорохня́віє корінь у них, і рознесе́ться їхній цвіт, немов ку́рява, бо від себе відкинули Зако́н Господа Савао́та, і зне́хтували вони слово Святого Ізраїлевого! |
|
25 Тому́ запали́вся гнів Господа на наро́д Його, і на нього Він ви́тягнув ру́ку Свою, — та й ура́зив його: і захиталися го́ри, і сталось їхнього тру́пу, як сміття́ серед вулиць! При цьому всьому́ не відверну́всь Його гнів, і ви́тягнена ще рука Його! |

26 І піді́йме прапо́ра наро́ду здале́ка, і засви́ще йому з кінця кра́ю, і при́йде він хутко та легко, — |
|
27 немає між ними уто́мленого та такого, який би спіткну́вся! Не дріма́є ніхто і не спить, а пояс із сте́гон його не здійма́ється та не зрива́ється шнур при взутті́ його. |
|
28 Його стріли пого́стрені, і всі лу́ки його понатя́гувані. Копи́та у ко́ней його немов кре́мінь вважа́ються, а коле́са його — немов ви́хор. |
|
29 Його рик — як леви́ці, і він заричи́ть, немов ті левчуки́, і він загарчи́ть, і здо́бич ухо́пить, й її понесе́, — і ніхто не врятує! |
|
30 І на нього реві́тиме він того дня, як те море реве́. І погляне на землю, а там густа те́мрява, і світло померкло у хмарах її. |

3 Тепер же ти, єрусалимський мешка́нче та мужу юдейський, розсудіть но між Мною й Моїм виноградником: |

23 що несправедливого чи́нять в суді за хаба́р справедливим, а праведність праведного усува́ють від нього. |

24 Therefore as the fire devours the stubble and the flame consumes the chaff, so they shall be consumed by the flame, and their root shall be as dust; and their blossom shall go up like chaff, because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts and despised the command of the Holy One of Israel. |
24 Тому́, як огне́нний язик пожира́є стерню́, а від по́лум'я ни́кне трава, — отак спорохня́віє корінь у них, і рознесе́ться їхній цвіт, немов ку́рява, бо від себе відкинули Зако́н Господа Савао́та, і зне́хтували вони слово Святого Ізраїлевого! |

25 Тому́ запали́вся гнів Господа на наро́д Його, і на нього Він ви́тягнув ру́ку Свою, — та й ура́зив його: і захиталися го́ри, і сталось їхнього тру́пу, як сміття́ серед вулиць! При цьому всьому́ не відверну́всь Його гнів, і ви́тягнена ще рука Його! |

26 And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from afar and will whistle to them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come swiftly with speed. |
26 І піді́йме прапо́ра наро́ду здале́ка, і засви́ще йому з кінця кра́ю, і при́йде він хутко та легко, — |
|
27 They shall not be weary nor stumble, they shall not slumber nor sleep, neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the lace of their shoes be broken; |
27 немає між ними уто́мленого та такого, який би спіткну́вся! Не дріма́є ніхто і не спить, а пояс із сте́гон його не здійма́ється та не зрива́ється шнур при взутті́ його. |

28 Their arrows are sharp and their bows are bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind. |
28 Його стріли пого́стрені, і всі лу́ки його понатя́гувані. Копи́та у ко́ней його немов кре́мінь вважа́ються, а коле́са його — немов ви́хор. |
|

30 And in that day he shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea; and if they look to the land, behold, there shall be darkness and distress, and the light shall be darkened with thick darkness. |
30 І на нього реві́тиме він того дня, як те море реве́. І погляне на землю, а там густа те́мрява, і світло померкло у хмарах її. |
