IsaiahChapter 31 |
|
1 WOE to those who go down to Egypt for help and trust in horses and rely on chariots because they are many, and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they do not trust in the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! |
|
2 Yet in his wisdom, he will bring a calamity, and will not alter his words; but will arise against the house of evildoers and against the help of those who work iniquity. |
|
3 Now the Egyptians are men and not God; and their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both the helper shall be overthrown, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they all shall be annihilated together. |
|
4 For thus has the LORD spoken to me: As the lion, even the young lion, roars over his prey when a multitude of shepherds shout against him, is not afraid of their voice nor terrified by their multitude; so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion and for the hill thereof. |
|
5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts alight on Jerusalem; he shall alight to deliver, rescue, and help. |
|
6 Repent, O children of Israel, for you have made your punishment severe. |
|
7 For in that day every man shall despise the idols of gold and the idols of silver which your own hands have made for yourselves for a sin. |
|
8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not with the sword of men; neither the sword of mighty men shall devour him; but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited. |
|
9 And he shall dwell in his rocky habitation, and his princes shall be defeated from before the standard, says the LORD, whose fire is in Zion and his furnace in Jerusalem. |

2 Та мудрий і Він, і спрова́дить лихе, і Своїх слів не відмінить, і піді́йметься Він проти дому безбожних, і проти помочі несправедливих. |
|
3 А Єгипет — не Бог, а люди́на, а коні їхні — тіло, не дух: як простя́гне Господь Свою руку, то спіткне́ться пома́гач, впаде́ і підпома́ганий, — і ра́зом вони всі погинуть! |
|
4 Бо до мене Господь сказав так: Як му́ркає лев чи левчу́к над своєю здоби́ччю, хоч покликана буде на нього юрба́ пастухів, він голосу їхнього не лякається, та не боїться їхнього крику, — так зі́йде Господь Саваот воюва́ти на Сіонській горі та на взгі́р'ї її! |

5 Як пта́хи летю́чі пташа́т, так Єрусалима Господь Саваот охоро́нить, охоро́нить літа́ючи, та збереже́, пощади́ть та врятує! |
|
6 Верніться до Того, від Кого далеко відпа́ли, сино́ве Ізраїлеві! |
|
7 Бо дня того обри́дить собі чоловік божків срібних своїх та бовва́нів своїх золотих, що вам наробили на гріх руки ваші. |
|
8 І Ашшу́р упаде́ від меча не чоловіка, і його пожере́ меч не люди́ни; і він побіжить не перед мечем, і стануть його юнаки́ кріпака́ми. |
|
9 А скеля його промине́ться від стра́ху, і владики його затриво́жаться перед прапором. Так говорить Господь, що має огонь на Сіоні, а в Єрусалимі у Нього горни́ло. |

4 Бо до мене Господь сказав так: Як му́ркає лев чи левчу́к над своєю здоби́ччю, хоч покликана буде на нього юрба́ пастухів, він голосу їхнього не лякається, та не боїться їхнього крику, — так зі́йде Господь Саваот воюва́ти на Сіонській горі та на взгі́р'ї її! |
