Psalm 8

1 O LORD, our LORD, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! Thou hast set thy glory upon the heavens.

2 Out of the mouth of young men and infants hast thou established thy glory because of thine enemies, that thou mightest destroy the enemy and the avenger.

3 For thy heavens have seen the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast clothed him with glory and honor.

6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet,

7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the wilderness;

8 The fowl of the air and the fish of the sea which pass through the paths of the seas.

9 O LORD, our LORD, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

2 ГОСПОДИ, Владыка наш! Сколь величественно имя Твое на всей земле! Могущество Твое небесами прославляется!

3 Хвалу из уст младенцев и малых детей сделал Ты крепостью против врагов Своих, дабы повергнуть в молчание и недруга, и мстителя.

4 Взирая на небеса, творение рук Твоих, на луну и звезды, которые Ты на места свои поставил,

5 думаю я: что есть человек, что Ты помнишь его, и сын человеческий, что заботишься Ты о нем?

6 Ты сделал его таким, что только Тебе Самому он уступает; славой и честью увенчал его,

7 власть ему дал над всем Тобою сотворенным — всё положил к ногам его:

8 и овец, и волов, и зверей полевых,

9 птиц небесных, и рыб морских, и всё в морях обитающее.
