Псалом 59

1 Дирижёру хора. На мелодию «Лилия соглашения». Миктам Давида в поучение,

2 который был написан в то время, когда Давид воевал с Сирией месопотамской и цованской и когда Иоав вернулся и победил двенадцать тысяч едомских воинов в Соляной долине.

3 Ты, Боже, прогневался на нас, и, отвергнув, уничтожил. Вернись и силу дай!

4 Ты землю сотрясал, и она раскололась; наш мир разрушается словно ветхая стена. Прошу Тебя, восстанови его!

5 Народу Своему Ты послал беду, от которой нас шатает словно от вина.

6 Но для тех, кто Тебе верен, Ты знамя развернул, чтоб под укрытие они к нему бежали. Селах

7 Ради спасения тех, кого Ты возлюбил, даруй нам помощь силою Своею.

8 Из храма Своего Бог молвил: «Я буду победителем, ликуйте! Я разделю среди Своего народа Сихем и долину Сокхов.

9 Моими будут Галаад и Манасия, Ефрем мне станет шлемом, а Иуда — скипетром Моим.

10 Чашей для омовения ног Моих станет Моав, Едом станет рабом, подносящим Мои сандалии. Я одолею филистимлян и провозглашу победу».

11 Кто меня поведёт на Едом, на этот укреплённый город?

12 Не Ты ли, Боже, отвернувшийся от нас, кто в битву с нашими войсками больше не идёт?

13 Дай помощь победить врага, так как помощь людская бесполезна.

14 Только Бог нам может силу дать, только Он поможет победить врага!

Psalm 59

1 DELIVER me from mine enemies, O God; defend me from them that rise up against me.

2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

3 For, 1o, they lie in wait for my soul; evil have they multiplied against me; not because I have transgressed or because I have sinned, O LORD.

4 They run and prepare themselves against me without considering whether I have been at fault;

5 Awake to help me, and behold, O thou LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the nations, and spare not any wicked transgressors.

6 They return at evening; they make a noise like dogs, and go round about the city.

7 Behold, they belch out with their mouths; swords are in their lips; for who, say they, does care?

8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the nations in derision.

9 To thee shall I give praise, O God, for thou art my defense.

10 O God, thy lovingkindness has preceded me; God has let me live to see my enemies avenged.

11 Spare them for a living example, lest my people forget; but scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O LORD my hope.

12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips. let them even be taken in their pride; for it is cursing and lying that they speak.

13 Consume them in thy wrath, consume them, that they be no more, that they may know that God rules over Jacob and over the ends of the earth.

14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like dogs, and go round about the city.
