Chapter 5

1 AND Moses called all Israel, and said to them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your presence this day, that you may learn them, and keep and do them.

2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.

3 It was not with our fathers that the LORD made this covenant, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.

4 The LORD talked with you face to face in the mountain out of the midst of the fire,

5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to declare to you the words of the LORD your God; for you were afraid because of the fire, and did not go up into the mountain), saying,

6 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

7 You shall have no other gods besides me.

8 You shall not make for yourself any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the waters under the earth;

9 You shall not worship them, nor serve them; for I the LORD your God am a zealous God, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

10 But showing mercy to thousands of generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

11 You shall not take an oath by the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes an oath by his name in vain.

12 Keep the sabbath day and sanctify it, as the LORD your God has commanded you.

13 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work;

14 But the seventh day is the sabbath to the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor any of your cattle, nor the sojourner that is in your towns; that your manservant and your maidservant may rest as well as you.

15 And remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out thence by a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm; therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the sabbath day.

16 Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

17 You shall not kill.

18 You shall not commit adultery.

19 You shall not steal.

20 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

21 You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, neither shall you covet your neighbor's house, nor his field, nor his vineyard, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is your neighbor's.

22 These words the LORD spoke to all the assembly on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, in the cloud and in the thick darkness, with a loud voice which cannot be measured. And he wrote them upon two tablets of stone, and gave them to me.

23 And when you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness and saw the mountain burning with fire, you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes and your elders;

24 And you said, Behold, the LORD our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire; and have seen this day that God does talk with man, and that he lives.

25 Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

26 For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

27 Go near and hear all that the LORD our God shall say; and speak to us all that the LORD our God shall speak to you; and we will hear it and do it.

28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when you spoke to me; and the LORD said to me, I have heard the voice of the people and the words which they have spoken to you; they have well said all that they have spoken.

29 O that there were such a heart in them, to worship, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them and with their children for ever!

30 Go and say to them, Return to your tents.

31 But as for you, stand here before me, and I will tell you all my commandments and my statutes and my judgments, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess.

32 You must observe and do therefore as the LORD your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

33 You shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.

Глава 5

1 Муса созвал весь народ Исраила и сказал: – Слушай, Исраил, установления и законы, которые я объявляю тебе сегодня. Выучи их и храни, чтобы следовать им.

2 Вечный, наш Бог, заключил с нами священное соглашение у горы Синай.

3 Не только с нашими родителями Вечный заключил это соглашение, но с нами, со всеми, кто здесь сегодня жив.

4 Вечный говорил с вами лицом к лицу из огня на горе.

5 (В то время я стоял между Вечным и вами, чтобы объявлять вам слово Вечного, потому что вы боялись огня и не поднимались на гору.) Он сказал:

6 «Я Вечный, твой Бог, Который вывел тебя из Египта, земли рабства.

7 Пусть не будет у тебя других богов кроме Меня.

8 Не делай себе идола – никакого изображения того, что на небе или на земле, или в водах ниже земли.

9 Не поклоняйся им и не служи им, ведь Я, Вечный, твой Бог, – ревнивый Бог, наказывающий детей за грехи отцов до третьего и четвёртого поколения, тех, кто ненавидит Меня.

10 Но Я дарую любовь тысячам поколений тех, кто любит Меня и соблюдает Мои повеления.

11 Не произноси имени Вечного, твоего Бога, напрасно, потому что Вечный не оставит безнаказанным никого, кто произносит Его имя напрасно.

12 Соблюдай субботний день, храни его святым, как повелел тебе Вечный, твой Бог.

13 Шесть дней трудись и делай всю свою работу,

14 но седьмой день – это суббота, она принадлежит Вечному, твоему Богу. Не делай в этот день никакой работы ни ты, ни твой сын или дочь, ни слуга или служанка, ни вол, ни осёл, ни какой другой скот, ни чужеземец в твоих городах, чтобы твои слуга и служанка могли отдохнуть, как и ты сам.

15 Помни, что ты был рабом в Египте и что Вечный, твой Бог, вывел тебя оттуда могучей и простёртой рукой. Поэтому Вечный, твой Бог, повелел тебе соблюдать субботний день.

16 Почитай отца и мать, как повелел тебе Вечный, твой Бог, чтобы тебе жить долго и благополучно на земле, которую даёт тебе Вечный, твой Бог.

17 Не убивай.

18 Не нарушай супружескую верность.

19 Не кради.

20 Не лжесвидетельствуй.

21 Не желай жены ближнего. Не желай дома или земли ближнего, его слуги или служанки, его вола или осла: ничего из того, что принадлежит ближнему твоему».

22 Это повеления, которые Вечный объявил громким голосом всему народу там, на горе, из огня, облака и кромешной тьмы. Больше Он ничего не добавил. Потом Он написал эти повеления на двух каменных плитках и дал их мне.

23 Когда вы слышали голос из тьмы, а гора пылала огнём, все вожди ваших родов и ваши старейшины пришли ко мне

24 и сказали: «Вечный, наш Бог, показал нам Свою славу и величие, и мы слышали Его голос из огня. Сегодня мы увидели, что человек может жить, даже если Всевышний говорит с ним.

25 Но зачем нам рисковать жизнью ещё раз? Этот великий огонь пожрёт нас, и мы погибнем, если и дальше будем слышать голос Вечного, нашего Бога.

26 Ведь кто из смертных когда-либо слышал, как мы, голос живого Бога, говорящего из огня, и остался жив?

27 Иди и выслушай, что говорит Вечный, наш Бог. Потом перескажи нам всё, что Вечный, наш Бог, тебе скажет. Мы выслушаем и исполним».

28 Вечный услышал вас, когда вы говорили со мной, и сказал мне: «Я услышал всё, что говорили тебе эти люди. Всё, что они сказали, хорошо.

29 О, если бы их сердце побуждало их всегда жить в страхе предо Мной и соблюдать все Мои повеления, то с ними и с их детьми всё было бы благополучно!

30 Иди, скажи им, чтобы они вернулись к своим шатрам.

31 Но сам останься здесь со Мной, чтобы Я дал тебе все повеления, установления и законы. Ты должен научить их следовать им в земле, которую Я отдаю им во владение».

32 Смотрите же, исполняйте то, что повелел вам Вечный, ваш Бог; не уклоняйтесь ни вправо, ни влево.

33 Всегда идите тем путём, которым повелел вам Вечный, ваш Бог, чтобы жить и преуспевать, и умножить свои дни в земле, которой вы завладеете.

1 Муса созвал весь народ Исраила и сказал: – Слушай, Исраил, установления и законы, которые я объявляю тебе сегодня. Выучи их и храни, чтобы следовать им.

4 The LORD talked with you face to face in the mountain out of the midst of the fire,

5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to declare to you the words of the LORD your God; for you were afraid because of the fire, and did not go up into the mountain), saying,

5 (В то время я стоял между Вечным и вами, чтобы объявлять вам слово Вечного, потому что вы боялись огня и не поднимались на гору.) Он сказал:

6 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

8 Не делай себе идола – никакого изображения того, что на небе или на земле, или в водах ниже земли.

9 You shall not worship them, nor serve them; for I the LORD your God am a zealous God, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

9 Не поклоняйся им и не служи им, ведь Я, Вечный, твой Бог, – ревнивый Бог, наказывающий детей за грехи отцов до третьего и четвёртого поколения, тех, кто ненавидит Меня.

10 But showing mercy to thousands of generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

10 Но Я дарую любовь тысячам поколений тех, кто любит Меня и соблюдает Мои повеления.

11 You shall not take an oath by the name of the LORD your God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes an oath by his name in vain.

11 Не произноси имени Вечного, твоего Бога, напрасно, потому что Вечный не оставит безнаказанным никого, кто произносит Его имя напрасно.

12 Keep the sabbath day and sanctify it, as the LORD your God has commanded you.

12 Соблюдай субботний день, храни его святым, как повелел тебе Вечный, твой Бог.

13 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work;

13 Шесть дней трудись и делай всю свою работу,

14 But the seventh day is the sabbath to the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor any of your cattle, nor the sojourner that is in your towns; that your manservant and your maidservant may rest as well as you.

14 но седьмой день – это суббота, она принадлежит Вечному, твоему Богу. Не делай в этот день никакой работы ни ты, ни твой сын или дочь, ни слуга или служанка, ни вол, ни осёл, ни какой другой скот, ни чужеземец в твоих городах, чтобы твои слуга и служанка могли отдохнуть, как и ты сам.

15 And remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out thence by a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm; therefore the LORD your God has commanded you to keep the sabbath day.

15 Помни, что ты был рабом в Египте и что Вечный, твой Бог, вывел тебя оттуда могучей и простёртой рукой. Поэтому Вечный, твой Бог, повелел тебе соблюдать субботний день.

16 Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

16 Почитай отца и мать, как повелел тебе Вечный, твой Бог, чтобы тебе жить долго и благополучно на земле, которую даёт тебе Вечный, твой Бог.

17 You shall not kill.

17 Не убивай.

18 You shall not commit adultery.

18 Не нарушай супружескую верность.

19 You shall not steal.

20 Не лжесвидетельствуй.

21 Не желай жены ближнего. Не желай дома или земли ближнего, его слуги или служанки, его вола или осла: ничего из того, что принадлежит ближнему твоему».

22 These words the LORD spoke to all the assembly on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, in the cloud and in the thick darkness, with a loud voice which cannot be measured. And he wrote them upon two tablets of stone, and gave them to me.

22 Это повеления, которые Вечный объявил громким голосом всему народу там, на горе, из огня, облака и кромешной тьмы. Больше Он ничего не добавил. Потом Он написал эти повеления на двух каменных плитках и дал их мне.

23 And when you heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness and saw the mountain burning with fire, you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes and your elders;

23 Когда вы слышали голос из тьмы, а гора пылала огнём, все вожди ваших родов и ваши старейшины пришли ко мне

24 And you said, Behold, the LORD our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire; and have seen this day that God does talk with man, and that he lives.

24 и сказали: «Вечный, наш Бог, показал нам Свою славу и величие, и мы слышали Его голос из огня. Сегодня мы увидели, что человек может жить, даже если Всевышний говорит с ним.

25 Now therefore why should we die? For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

25 Но зачем нам рисковать жизнью ещё раз? Этот великий огонь пожрёт нас, и мы погибнем, если и дальше будем слышать голос Вечного, нашего Бога.

26 For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

26 Ведь кто из смертных когда-либо слышал, как мы, голос живого Бога, говорящего из огня, и остался жив?

27 Go near and hear all that the LORD our God shall say; and speak to us all that the LORD our God shall speak to you; and we will hear it and do it.

27 Иди и выслушай, что говорит Вечный, наш Бог. Потом перескажи нам всё, что Вечный, наш Бог, тебе скажет. Мы выслушаем и исполним».

28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when you spoke to me; and the LORD said to me, I have heard the voice of the people and the words which they have spoken to you; they have well said all that they have spoken.

28 Вечный услышал вас, когда вы говорили со мной, и сказал мне: «Я услышал всё, что говорили тебе эти люди. Всё, что они сказали, хорошо.

29 O that there were such a heart in them, to worship, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them and with their children for ever!

29 О, если бы их сердце побуждало их всегда жить в страхе предо Мной и соблюдать все Мои повеления, то с ними и с их детьми всё было бы благополучно!

30 Go and say to them, Return to your tents.

30 Иди, скажи им, чтобы они вернулись к своим шатрам.

31 But as for you, stand here before me, and I will tell you all my commandments and my statutes and my judgments, which you shall teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess.

31 Но сам останься здесь со Мной, чтобы Я дал тебе все повеления, установления и законы. Ты должен научить их следовать им в земле, которую Я отдаю им во владение».

32 You must observe and do therefore as the LORD your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

32 Смотрите же, исполняйте то, что повелел вам Вечный, ваш Бог; не уклоняйтесь ни вправо, ни влево.

33 You shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.
