Psalm 72

1 GIVE the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness to the king's son,

2 That he may judge thy people with righteousness and thy poor with justice.

3 The mountains shall bring peace to thy people, and the hills thy righteousness.

4 He shall judge the poor of the people; he shall save the children of the needy; and he shall crush the oppressor.

5 They shall revere thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.

7 In his days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.

8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

9 They that dwell on the islands shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish and of the islands shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

11 Yea, all kings shall worship him, all nations shall serve him;

12 For he shall deliver the needy from the mighty, the poor also, who has no helper.

13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

14 He shall redeem their souls from deceit and violence; precious shall their blood be in his sight.

15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba; prayer also shall be made to him continually, and daily shall he be praised.

16 He shall multiply like wheat upon the earth; his seed shall spring up on the mountain tops, as on Lebanon; and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

17 His name shall endure for ever; his name shall be continued as long as the sun; and men shall be blessed in him; all nations shall call him blessed.

18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.

19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.

Псалом 72

1 Бог добр к Израилю, к тем, чьи сердца чисты.

2 Но я почти поскользнулся и, опору потеряв, едва не согрешил.

3 Я роскошь злых увидел, позавидовал высокомерным.

4 Они полны здоровья, им за жизнь нет необходимости бороться.

5 Людского бремени они лишены, никакие беды их не угнетают.

6 Словно ожерелья или одежды свою горделивость и жестокость они выставляют напоказ.

7 Что-либо возжелав, они немедленно себе это забрать готовы, делают они всё, что хотят.

8 Они о других зло и плохо говорят, во всём горды и упрямы, страдание всегда готовы людям причинить.

9 Себя считают божествами, они думают, будто правят всей землёй.

10 И даже Божьи люди следуют за ними, делая всё, что прикажут им.

11 Они говорят: «О наших делах не знает Всевышний».

12 Все гордые злобой полны, но их богатство растёт день ото дня.

13 Зачем в чистоте своё сердце я содержал и держался вдалеке от греха?

14 Боже, все дни в страдании я пребываю и по утрам наказание терплю.

15 Но если б продолжал я говорить такое, то предал бы Твой народ.

16 Пытался я понять, в чём дело, но не приходило понятье,

17 пока не пошёл я в Божий храм, где осознал, что случается со злыми.

18 Совершенно ясно, что Ты их опасности подверг, и, оступившись, они не смогут смерти избежать.

19 Несчастья нагрянут нежданно, для грешников грянет гибель, они в смятении погибнут.

20 Господи, станут злые подобны страшному сну, который в миг пробуждения мы забываем. Словно ночные кошмары исчезнут они.

2 That he may judge thy people with righteousness and thy poor with justice.	2 Но я почти поскользнулся и, опору потеряв, едва не согрешил.
3 The mountains shall bring peace to thy people, and the hills thy righteousness.	3 Я роскошь злых увидел, позавидовал высокомерным.
4 He shall judge the poor of the people; he shall save the children of the needy; and he shall crush the oppressor.	4 Они полны здоровья, им за жизнь нет необходимости бороться.
5 They shall revere thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.	5 Людского бремени они лишены, никакие беды их не угнетают.
