Psalm 72

1 GIVE the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness to the king's son,

2 That he may judge thy people with righteousness and thy poor with justice.

3 The mountains shall bring peace to thy people, and the hills thy righteousness.

4 He shall judge the poor of the people; he shall save the children of the needy; and he shall crush the oppressor.

5 They shall revere thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.

6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.

7 In his days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.

8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

9 They that dwell on the islands shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.

10 The kings of Tarshish and of the islands shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.

11 Yea, all kings shall worship him, all nations shall serve him;

12 For he shall deliver the needy from the mighty, the poor also, who has no helper.

13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

14 He shall redeem their souls from deceit and violence; precious shall their blood be in his sight.

15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba; prayer also shall be made to him continually, and daily shall he be praised.

16 He shall multiply like wheat upon the earth; his seed shall spring up on the mountain tops, as on Lebanon; and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

17 His name shall endure for ever; his name shall be continued as long as the sun; and men shall be blessed in him; all nations shall call him blessed.

18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.

19 And blessed be his glorious name for ever; and let the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.

Псалом 72

1 Псалом Асафа Как добр Бог к Израилю, к тем, кто сердцем чист!

2 А я чуть не поскользнулся, чуть было не упал,

3 ибо позавидовал надменным, когда увидел благополучие этих нечестивцев.

4 Нет у них никаких страданий, они здоровы, и тучны тела их.

5 От изнурительного труда человеческого избавлены они, в отличие от простых людей не ведают они превратностей судьбы.

6 Потому носят они на себе гордыню свою, как ожерелье, и насилие — как одежду.

7 Глаза их заплыли жиром, вздорные мечтанья переполняют сердца их.

8 Они глумятся и угрожают насилием, высокомерны речи их.

9 Устами они уже и на само небо притязают, языком своим важно расхаживают по земле.

10 За ними тянутся и люди их и тоже опиваются беззаконием, как водой из полной чаши.

11 Говорят они: «Как узнает об этом Бог? Что ведомо Всевышнему?»

12 Таковы эти нечестивые: в самоуверенности своей предались они накопительству.

13 Я уверился было, что напрасно сердце свое сохранял в чистоте, в невинности своей омывал руки,

14 каждый день подвергался мукам и каждое утро — наказанию.

15 Но если бы я сказал: «Стану говорить, как они», изменил бы я Твоему народу.

16 И думал я, как понять всё это, — смысл трудно мне было увидеть,

17 пока не вошел во Святилище Божие и не понял, какой конец ожидает их:

18 воистину, на скользком месте Ты их ставишь и на разор обрекаешь.

19 Увидел я, как уничтожены они были в миг единый, как пришли к концу своему и в ужасе погибли!

20 Как после пробуждения забывается сновидение, так, Господи, да исчезнет даже образ их, когда Ты пробудишься!
