1 IF it had not been the LORD who stood on our side, now may Israel say,

2 If it had not been the LORD who stood on our side when men rose up against us,

3 Then would they have swallowed us alive when their wrath was kindled against us,

4 Then would they have drowned us in the waters, the stream would have gone over us;

5 Then the great waters would have gone over us.

6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7 Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we are delivered.

8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

1 Песнь восхождения. [1] Те, кто надеется на Господа, — как гора Сион: не поколеблются, пребудут вовеки.

2 Как горы окружают Иерусалим, так Господь окружает Свой народ отныне и вовеки.

3 Жезл нечестивых не останется над землей праведных, чтобы праведные не протянули свои руки к беззаконию.

4 Будь добр, Господи, к добрым и к правым в сердцах своих.

5 Но тех, кто следует кривыми путями, да отвергнет Господь вместе со злодеями. Мир Израилю!
