Chapter 2

1 AND he said to me, Son of man, stand upon your feet and I will speak with you.

2 And the spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and he set me upon my feet, and I heard him that spoke to me.

3 And he said to me, Son of man, I am sending you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious people who have risen up against me; they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

4 And they to whom I am sending you are impudent and stubborn children; and you shall say to them, Thus says the LORD God of hosts.

5 Perhaps they will listen and tremble (for they are a rebellious house), and they shall know that you are a prophet among them.

6 And you, Son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be dismayed by their words, for they will deny you and denounce you; for you dwell among scorpions; fear not their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.

7 And you shall speak my words to them; perhaps they will listen and tremble; for they are a rebellious house.

8 But you, Son of man, hear what I say to you; and be not rebellious like that rebellious house: but open your mouth and eat what I shall give you.

9 And when I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me; and, lo, a scroll of a book was in it.

10 And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without; and there were written in it chants, woes, and lamentations.

3 And he said559 to me, Son1121 of man,120 I send7971 you to the children1121 of Israel,3478 to a rebellious4775 nation1471 that has rebelled4775 against me: they and their fathers1 have transgressed6586 against me, even to this2088 very6106 day.3117

4 For they are impudent7186 6440 children1121 and stiff hearted.2389 3820 I do send7971 you to them; and you shall say559 to them, Thus3541 said559 the Lord136 GOD.3069

5 And they, whether518 they will hear,8085 or whether518 they will forbear,2308 (for they are a rebellious4805 house,1004) yet shall know3045 that there has been1961 a prophet5030 among8432 them.

6 And you, son1121 of man,120 be not afraid3372 of them, neither408 be afraid3372 of their words,1697 though3588 briers5621 and thorns5544 be with you, and you do dwell3427 among413 scorpions:6137 be not afraid3372 of their words,1697 nor408 be dismayed2865 at their looks,6440 though3588 they be a rebellious4805 house.

7 And you shall speak1696 my words1697 to them, whether518 they will hear,8085 or whether518 they will forbear:2308 for they are most rebellious.4805
