1 Праведний умирає, і немає ніко́го, хто б узяв це до серця, і му́жі побожні беру́ться зо світу, і немає такого, хто б те зрозумів, — що від зла забира́ється праведний з світу!

2 Він відходить із ми́ром; на ло́жах своїх спочивають, хто ходить прямою дорогою.

3 Та набли́зьтесь сюди́, ви сини чарівни́ці, насі́ння чужоло́жникове та блудни́ці, —

4 над ким розкошу́єте ви, над ким розкриваєте ро́та, висовуєте язика́? Хіба ви не діти пере́ступу, насіння брехні,

5 ви, що па́литесь при́страстю серед дубів, під деревом кожним зеленим, що діте́й над потоками ріжете, під ске́льними щі́линами?

6 У гладе́ньких камі́ннях потоку твій у́діл, — вони, вони доля твоя! І їм ти лила́ жертву ли́ту, хлібну жертву прино́сила! Чи цим Я заспоко́єний буду?

7 На горі на високій та ви́суненій ти поставила ложе своє, і туди ти прихо́диш прино́сити жертви.

8 І ти за двери́ма й одві́рком кладеш свого па́м'ятника культово́го, бо ти відступила від Мене, обнажа́єшся й входиш, поши́рюєш ложе своє, і складаєш умову собі з одним з тих, що з ними ти любиш лежати, де місце нагле́диш.

9 І ти до Моло́ха з оливою ходиш, і намно́жуєш масті свої; і посилаєш дале́ко своїх посланці́в, і знижа́єшся аж до шео́лу.

10 Ти змучувалась на числе́нних доро́гах своїх, але не казала: „Зріка́юсь!“ Знайшла ти ожи́влення сили своєї, тому́ не ослабла.

11 І за ким побива́лася ти та лякалась, що невірною стала й Мене не згада́ла, не клала на серці своєму? Хіба не тому́, що мовчав Я від віку, то ти не боїшся Мене?

12 Я ви́явлю про справедливість твою та про вчи́нки твої, — та вони не поможуть тобі!

13 Як ти будеш кричати, нехай поряту́є тебе твоя згра́я божкі́в. Але вітер усіх їх розвіє, схопить по́дих; хто ж на Мене надіється, землю вспадку́є й го́ру святую Мою одіди́чить!

14 І Він каже: Будуйте дорогу, будуйте дорогу, почистьте дорогу, заберіть перешко́ди з дороги наро́ду Мого́!

15 Бо так промовляє Високий і Підне́сений, повіки Живущий, і Святий Його Йме́ння: Пробува́ю Я на Височині́ та в святи́ні, і з зла́маним та з упоко́реним, щоб оживля́ти духа скро́мних, і щоб оживля́ти серця згно́блених!

16 Бож не вічно Я буду суди́тись, і не за́вжди Я гні́ватись буду, бо дух з-від обличчя Мого зомлі́в би, та й ду́ші, які Я вчинив.

17 Я гнівався був за гріх користолю́бства його, та й ура́зив його, заховав Я обличчя Своє й лютував, та пішов він, відступний, дорогою серця свого́.

18 Я бачив доро́ги його, і вздоро́влю його, і його поведу́ й дам потіху для нього й для тих, що суму́ють із ним.

19 Створю́ Я плід уст: „Спокій, спо́кій далекому та близько́му!“ говорить Господь, і вздоро́влю його.

20 А ті несправедливі — як море розбу́рхане, коли бути спокі́йним не може воно, і коли во́ди його багно́ й мул викида́ють.

21 Для безбожних споко́ю немає, говорить Господь!

Chapter 57

1 The righteous6662 perishes,6 and no369 man376 lays7760 it to heart:3820 and merciful2617 men582 are taken622 away, none369 considering995 that the righteous6662 is taken622 away from the evil7451 to come.

2 He shall enter935 into peace:7965 they shall rest5117 in their beds,4904 each one walking1980 in his uprightness.5228

3 But draw near7126 here, you sons1121 of the sorceress,6049 the seed2233 of the adulterer5003 and the whore.2181

4 Against5921 whom4310 do you sport6026 yourselves? against5921 whom4310 make you a wide7337 mouth,6310 and draw748 out the tongue?3956 are you not children3206 of transgression,6588 a seed2233 of falsehood.8267

5 Enflaming2552 yourselves with idols410 under8478 every3605 green7488 tree,6086 slaying7819 the children3206 in the valleys5158 under8478 the clefts5585 of the rocks?5553

6 Among the smooth2511 stones of the stream5158 is your portion;2506 they, they are your lot:1486 even1571 to them have you poured8210 a drink5262 offering, you have offered5927 a meat offering.4503 Should I receive5162 comfort5162 in these?428

7 On a lofty1364 and high5375 mountain2022 have you set7760 your bed:4904 even1571 thither8033 went5927 you up to offer2076 sacrifice.2077

8 Behind310 the doors1817 also and the posts4201 have you set7760 up your remembrance:2146 for you have discovered1540 yourself to another than me, and are gone5927 up; you have enlarged7337 your bed,4904 and made3772 you a covenant with them; you loved157 their bed4904 where3027 you saw2372 it.

9 And you went7788 to the king4428 with ointment,8081 and did increase7235 your perfumes,7547 and did send7971 your messengers6735 far7350 off, and did debase8213 yourself even to hell.7585

10 You are wearied3021 in the greatness7230 of your way;1870 yet said559 you not, There is no hope:2976 you have found4672 the life2416 of your hand;3027 therefore5921 3651 you were not grieved.2470

11 And of whom4310 have you been afraid1672 or feared,3372 that you have lied,3576 and have not remembered2142 me, nor3808 laid7760 it to your heart?3820 have not I held2814 my peace2814 even of old,5769 and you fear3372 me not?

12 I will declare5046 your righteousness,6666 and your works;4639 for they shall not profit3276 you.

13 When you cry,2199 let your companies736 deliver5337 you; but the wind7307 shall carry5375 them all3605 away; vanity1892 shall take3947 them: but he that puts his trust2620 in me shall possess5157 the land,776 and shall inherit3423 my holy6944 mountain;2022

14 And shall say,559 Cast5549 you up, cast5549 you up, prepare6437 the way,1870 take7311 up the stumbling4383 block4383 out of the way1870 of my people.5971

15 For thus3541 said559 the high7311 and lofty5375 One that inhabits7931 eternity,5703 whose name8034 is Holy;6918 I dwell7931 in the high4791 and holy6918 place, with him also that is of a contrite1793 and humble8217 spirit,7307 to revive2421 the spirit7307 of the humble,8217 and to revive2421 the heart3820 of the contrite1792 ones.

16 For I will not contend7378 for ever,5769 neither3808 will I be always5331 wroth:7107 for the spirit7307 should fail5848 before6440 me, and the souls5397 which I have made.6213

17 For the iniquity5771 of his covetousness1215 was I wroth,7107 and smote5221 him: I hid5641 me, and was wroth,7107 and he went3212 on frowardly7726 in the way1870 of his heart.3820

18 I have seen7200 his ways,1870 and will heal7495 him: I will lead5148 him also, and restore7999 comforts5150 to him and to his mourners.57

19 I create1254 the fruit5108 of the lips;8193 Peace,7965 peace7965 to him that is far7350 off, and to him that is near,7138 said559 the LORD;3068 and I will heal7495 him.

20 But the wicked7563 are like the troubled1644 sea,3220 when3588 it cannot3808 3201 rest,8252 whose waters4325 cast1644 up mire7516 and dirt.2916

21 There is no369 peace,7965 said559 my God,430 to the wicked.7563

9 І ти до Моло́ха з оливою ходиш, і намно́жуєш масті свої; і посилаєш дале́ко своїх посланці́в, і знижа́єшся аж до шео́лу.

9 And you went7788 to the king4428 with ointment,8081 and did increase7235 your perfumes,7547 and did send7971 your messengers6735 far7350 off, and did debase8213 yourself even to hell.7585

10 Ти змучувалась на числе́нних доро́гах своїх, але не казала: „Зріка́юсь!“ Знайшла ти ожи́влення сили своєї, тому́ не ослабла.

10 You are wearied3021 in the greatness7230 of your way;1870 yet said559 you not, There is no hope:2976 you have found4672 the life2416 of your hand;3027 therefore5921 3651 you were not grieved.2470

11 І за ким побива́лася ти та лякалась, що невірною стала й Мене не згада́ла, не клала на серці своєму? Хіба не тому́, що мовчав Я від віку, то ти не боїшся Мене?

12 Я ви́явлю про справедливість твою та про вчи́нки твої, — та вони не поможуть тобі!

13 Як ти будеш кричати, нехай поряту́є тебе твоя згра́я божкі́в. Але вітер усіх їх розвіє, схопить по́дих; хто ж на Мене надіється, землю вспадку́є й го́ру святую Мою одіди́чить!

13 When you cry,2199 let your companies736 deliver5337 you; but the wind7307 shall carry5375 them all3605 away; vanity1892 shall take3947 them: but he that puts his trust2620 in me shall possess5157 the land,776 and shall inherit3423 my holy6944 mountain;2022

14 І Він каже: Будуйте дорогу, будуйте дорогу, почистьте дорогу, заберіть перешко́ди з дороги наро́ду Мого́!

14 And shall say,559 Cast5549 you up, cast5549 you up, prepare6437 the way,1870 take7311 up the stumbling4383 block4383 out of the way1870 of my people.5971

15 Бо так промовляє Високий і Підне́сений, повіки Живущий, і Святий Його Йме́ння: Пробува́ю Я на Височині́ та в святи́ні, і з зла́маним та з упоко́реним, щоб оживля́ти духа скро́мних, і щоб оживля́ти серця згно́блених!

15 For thus3541 said559 the high7311 and lofty5375 One that inhabits7931 eternity,5703 whose name8034 is Holy;6918 I dwell7931 in the high4791 and holy6918 place, with him also that is of a contrite1793 and humble8217 spirit,7307 to revive2421 the spirit7307 of the humble,8217 and to revive2421 the heart3820 of the contrite1792 ones.

16 Бож не вічно Я буду суди́тись, і не за́вжди Я гні́ватись буду, бо дух з-від обличчя Мого зомлі́в би, та й ду́ші, які Я вчинив.

16 For I will not contend7378 for ever,5769 neither3808 will I be always5331 wroth:7107 for the spirit7307 should fail5848 before6440 me, and the souls5397 which I have made.6213

17 Я гнівався був за гріх користолю́бства його, та й ура́зив його, заховав Я обличчя Своє й лютував, та пішов він, відступний, дорогою серця свого́.
