Chapter 11

1 THEREFORE you shall love the LORD your God, and keep his precepts, his statutes, his judgments, and his commandments, always.

2 And know this day that I do not speak to your children who have not known and who have not seen the discipline of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm,

3 And his signs, and his deeds, which he did in Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land;

4 And what he did to the army of the Egyptians, to their horses and to their chariots and to their horsemen; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD has destroyed them to this day;

5 And what he did to you in the wilderness, until you came into this place;

6 And what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their children and their tents and everything which they had, as they stood on their feet in the midst of all Israel;

7 But it is your eyes that have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.

8 Therefore you shall keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that you may be strong and go in and possess the land which you are going over to possess;

9 And that you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give to them and to their descendants, a land that flows with milk and honey.

10 For the land into which you are entering to possess it is not like the land of Egypt, from which you came out, where you sowed your seed and watered it with your feet, like a vegetable garden;

11 But the land which you are going over to possess is a land of mountains and valleys, that drinks water of the rain from heaven;

12 A land which the LORD your God cares for always; the eyes of the LORD your God are upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.

13 And if you shall hearken diligently to the commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

14 He will give you the rain of your land in its due season, the early rain and the latter rain, and you shall gather in your grain and your wine and your oil.

15 And he will make grass to grow in your fields for your cattle, that you shall eat and be full.

16 Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be enticed, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them;

17 And then the LORD'S anger be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain and that the land may not produce its fruit, and that you perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD your God gives you.

18 Therefore you shall lay up these commandments in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hands, that they may be a token between your eyes.

19 And you shall teach them to your children, that they may talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

20 And you shall write them on the doorposts of your houses, and upon your gates;

21 That your days and the days of your children, may be multiplied in the land which the LORD your God swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon earth.

22 For if you shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you this day, and do them, and love the LORD your God, and walk in all his ways, and cleave to him;

23 Then the LORD will destroy all these nations from before you, and you shall possess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.

24 Every place whereon the sole of your foot treads shall be yours; from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the great river Euphrates, to the uttermost sea shall your territory be.

25 There shall no man be able to stand before you; for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that you shall tread, as he has said to you.

26 Behold, I set before you this day blessings and curses;

27 Blessings, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I am commanding you this day:

28 And curses, if you will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, and if you turn aside from the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which you have not known.

29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD your God has brought you into the land whither you are entering to possess it, you shall put the blessings upon mount Gerizim, and the curses upon mount Gebel.

30 Behold, they are on the other side of the Jordan, behind the way, toward the setting of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites, who dwell in the low desert over against Gilgal, towards the house of the oak of Mamre.

31 For you are to cross the Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess it and dwell therein.

32 And you shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day.

1 «Любите Господа, Бога вашего, исполняйте всё, что Он велит вам, всегда исполняйте Его законы, предписания и заповеди.

2 И сегодня помните все те великие деяния, которые Господь свершил, наставляя вас. Не дети ваши, а вы сами были свидетелями всего происходящего и остались в живых; вы видели величие Господа, видели Его силу и все Его великие свершения.

3 Вы, а не дети ваши видели, какие Он свершил чудеса, видели, что Он сделал в Египте с фараоном, царём египетским, и со всей его страной.

4 Вы, а не дети ваши были свидетелями того, что Господь сделал с египетской армией, с их конями и колесницами. Вы видели, как Господь скрыл их под водами Красного моря, когда они погнались за вами, и как Господь полностью уничтожил их.

5 Вы, а не дети ваши были свидетелями всего, что Господь, Бог ваш, совершил для вас в пустыне, пока вы шли к этому месту.

6 Вы видели, что Господь сделал с Дафаном и Авироном, сыновьями Елиава, из рода Рувима. Весь израильский народ был свидетелем тому, как земля открылась подобно пасти, и поглотила тех людей: их семьи, шатры, всех их слуг и скот.

7 Вы, а не дети ваши видели все эти великие деяния Господа.

8 Так исполняйте же все заповеди, о которых я говорю вам сегодня, и тогда будете сильны и сможете перейти через реку Иордан и захватить землю, в которую собираетесь войти.

9 Вы проживёте долгую жизнь в этой стране, потому что Господь обещал отдать эту землю вашим предкам и всем их потомкам. Это — земля, в которой всего в изобилии.

10 Земля, которую вы получите, не такая, как в Египте, откуда вы пришли, где, посеяв семена, вам приходилось поливать сады, накачивая воду из каналов ногами.

11 Земля, которую вы вскоре получите, не такая. В Израиле есть горы и долины, и земля орошается дождями небесными,

12 потому что Господь, Бог ваш, печётся об этой земле круглый год.

13 Слушайте внимательно, какие заповеди Я даю вам сегодня: любите Господа, Бога вашего, и служите Ему всем сердцем своим и всей душой своей.

14 Я пошлю на вашу землю дожди, осенние и весенние дожди в нужное время, и вы сможете собирать зерно, молодое вино и оливковое масло.

15 Я сделаю так, что на ваших полях будет расти трава для вашего скота и будет у вас еды в изобилии.

16 Но берегитесь, не дайте себя обмануть! Не служите другим богам и не поклоняйтесь им,

17 а иначе Господь разгневается на вас и замкнёт небо, и не будет дождя, и земля не сможет родить урожай, и вы все скоро погибнете в этой доброй земле, которую Господь даёт вам.

18 Помните заповеди, которые Я даю вам, храните их в своих сердцах, повяжите их себе в знак на руку и носите их на лбу, чтобы помнить о них.

19 Учите своих детей, говоря о них, когда находитесь дома, когда идёте по дороге, когда ложитесь, и когда встаёте.

20 Запишите эти заповеди на косяках дверей ваших домов и на воротах.

21 И тогда вы и ваши дети долго проживёте на земле, которую Господь пообещал отдать вашим предкам, проживёте там столько дней, сколько небо будет над землёй.

22 Будьте осторожны, исполняйте все заповеди, которые я вам велел исполнять: любите Господа, Бога вашего, следуйте Его путями и будьте верны Ему.

23 И когда войдёте в эту землю, Господь изгонит все другие народы, и вы заберёте землю у народов, которые многочисленнее и могущественнее вас,

24 и вся земля, по которой вы пройдёте, будет вашей. Она будет простираться от пустыни до самого Ливана, от реки Евфрат до самого Средиземного моря.

25 Никто не устоит против вас, и куда вы ни пойдёте в этой земле, Господь, Бог ваш, заставит народы трепетать перед вами, как Он обещал вам».

26 «Сегодня я даю вам выбор: можете избрать благословение или проклятие.

27 Если будете слушать и исполнять все заповеди Господа, Бога вашего, которые я вам сегодня дал, то получите благословение.

28 Если же откажетесь слушать и исполнять заповеди Господа, Бога вашего, то получите проклятие. Живите, как я сегодня повелеваю вам, и не следуйте другим богам, которых не знаете.

29 Господь, Бог ваш, приведёт вас в вашу землю. Когда вы войдёте и овладеете ею, поднимитесь на вершину горы Гаризим и оттуда произнесите благословение народу, затем поднимитесь на вершину горы Гевал и оттуда произнесите проклятие.

30 Эти горы — на другом берегу Иордана в земле хананеев, живущих в долине Иордана, на западе, неподалёку от дубравы Море, близ города Галгал.

31 Вы перейдёте реку Иордан, завладеете землёй, которую Господь, Бог ваш, даёт вам, и земля будет вашей.

32 Тщательно соблюдайте все законы и предписания, которые я даю вам сегодня».

2 И сегодня помните все те великие деяния, которые Господь свершил, наставляя вас. Не дети ваши, а вы сами были свидетелями всего происходящего и остались в живых; вы видели величие Господа, видели Его силу и все Его великие свершения.

3 And his signs, and his deeds, which he did in Egypt to Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and to all his land;

3 Вы, а не дети ваши видели, какие Он свершил чудеса, видели, что Он сделал в Египте с фараоном, царём египетским, и со всей его страной.

4 And what he did to the army of the Egyptians, to their horses and to their chariots and to their horsemen; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD has destroyed them to this day;

4 Вы, а не дети ваши были свидетелями того, что Господь сделал с египетской армией, с их конями и колесницами. Вы видели, как Господь скрыл их под водами Красного моря, когда они погнались за вами, и как Господь полностью уничтожил их.

5 And what he did to you in the wilderness, until you came into this place;

5 Вы, а не дети ваши были свидетелями всего, что Господь, Бог ваш, совершил для вас в пустыне, пока вы шли к этому месту.

6 And what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their children and their tents and everything which they had, as they stood on their feet in the midst of all Israel;

6 Вы видели, что Господь сделал с Дафаном и Авироном, сыновьями Елиава, из рода Рувима. Весь израильский народ был свидетелем тому, как земля открылась подобно пасти, и поглотила тех людей: их семьи, шатры, всех их слуг и скот.

7 But it is your eyes that have seen all the great acts of the LORD which he did.

7 Вы, а не дети ваши видели все эти великие деяния Господа.

8 Therefore you shall keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that you may be strong and go in and possess the land which you are going over to possess;

8 Так исполняйте же все заповеди, о которых я говорю вам сегодня, и тогда будете сильны и сможете перейти через реку Иордан и захватить землю, в которую собираетесь войти.

9 And that you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give to them and to their descendants, a land that flows with milk and honey.

9 Вы проживёте долгую жизнь в этой стране, потому что Господь обещал отдать эту землю вашим предкам и всем их потомкам. Это — земля, в которой всего в изобилии.

10 For the land into which you are entering to possess it is not like the land of Egypt, from which you came out, where you sowed your seed and watered it with your feet, like a vegetable garden;

12 A land which the LORD your God cares for always; the eyes of the LORD your God are upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.

12 потому что Господь, Бог ваш, печётся об этой земле круглый год.

13 And if you shall hearken diligently to the commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

13 Слушайте внимательно, какие заповеди Я даю вам сегодня: любите Господа, Бога вашего, и служите Ему всем сердцем своим и всей душой своей.

14 He will give you the rain of your land in its due season, the early rain and the latter rain, and you shall gather in your grain and your wine and your oil.

14 Я пошлю на вашу землю дожди, осенние и весенние дожди в нужное время, и вы сможете собирать зерно, молодое вино и оливковое масло.

15 And he will make grass to grow in your fields for your cattle, that you shall eat and be full.

15 Я сделаю так, что на ваших полях будет расти трава для вашего скота и будет у вас еды в изобилии.

17 а иначе Господь разгневается на вас и замкнёт небо, и не будет дождя, и земля не сможет родить урожай, и вы все скоро погибнете в этой доброй земле, которую Господь даёт вам.

18 Therefore you shall lay up these commandments in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hands, that they may be a token between your eyes.

18 Помните заповеди, которые Я даю вам, храните их в своих сердцах, повяжите их себе в знак на руку и носите их на лбу, чтобы помнить о них.

22 Будьте осторожны, исполняйте все заповеди, которые я вам велел исполнять: любите Господа, Бога вашего, следуйте Его путями и будьте верны Ему.

23 Then the LORD will destroy all these nations from before you, and you shall possess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.

23 И когда войдёте в эту землю, Господь изгонит все другие народы, и вы заберёте землю у народов, которые многочисленнее и могущественнее вас,

24 Every place whereon the sole of your foot treads shall be yours; from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the great river Euphrates, to the uttermost sea shall your territory be.

24 и вся земля, по которой вы пройдёте, будет вашей. Она будет простираться от пустыни до самого Ливана, от реки Евфрат до самого Средиземного моря.

25 There shall no man be able to stand before you; for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that you shall tread, as he has said to you.

25 Никто не устоит против вас, и куда вы ни пойдёте в этой земле, Господь, Бог ваш, заставит народы трепетать перед вами, как Он обещал вам».

26 Behold, I set before you this day blessings and curses;

26 «Сегодня я даю вам выбор: можете избрать благословение или проклятие.

27 Blessings, if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I am commanding you this day:

27 Если будете слушать и исполнять все заповеди Господа, Бога вашего, которые я вам сегодня дал, то получите благословение.

28 And curses, if you will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, and if you turn aside from the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which you have not known.

28 Если же откажетесь слушать и исполнять заповеди Господа, Бога вашего, то получите проклятие. Живите, как я сегодня повелеваю вам, и не следуйте другим богам, которых не знаете.

29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD your God has brought you into the land whither you are entering to possess it, you shall put the blessings upon mount Gerizim, and the curses upon mount Gebel.

29 Господь, Бог ваш, приведёт вас в вашу землю. Когда вы войдёте и овладеете ею, поднимитесь на вершину горы Гаризим и оттуда произнесите благословение народу, затем поднимитесь на вершину горы Гевал и оттуда произнесите проклятие.
