1 Один мужчина из семьи Левия женился на женщине из той же семьи.

2 Женщина забеременела и родила мальчика и, увидев, как красив младенец, три месяца скрывала его,

3 опасаясь, что его найдут и убьют, потому что он мальчик. Через три месяца она сделала корзинку, обмазала её смолой, чтобы она держалась на плаву, и, положив в неё ребёнка, оставила в зарослях тростника у берега реки.

4 Сестра младенца осталась там и стала наблюдать, что с ним произойдёт.

5 В это время дочь фараона как раз пришла к реке купаться, а её служанки ходили по берегу. Увидев в тростнике корзинку, она послала служанку принести её.

6 Открыв корзинку, дочь фараона увидела плачущего младенца и исполнилась жалости к нему. И в этот момент она заметила, что это был один из иудейских детей.

7 Сестра младенца сказала дочери фараона: «Не хочешь ли ты, чтобы я нашла для тебя иудейку, которая могла бы вскормить младенца и помочь тебе присматривать за ним?»

8 «Пойди», — сказала дочь фараона. Тогда девочка привела мать младенца.

9 «Возьми этого ребёнка и вскорми его для меня, — сказала матери дочь фараона. — Я заплачу тебе за это». Женщина взяла ребёнка и стала за ним ухаживать.

10 Ребёнок подрос, и через некоторое время женщина отдала его царской дочери, и та приняла его как своего родного сына, назвав мальчика Моисеем, потому что она достала его из воды.

11 Моисей вырос и стал взрослым мужчиной. Он видел, что его собственный народ, иудеи, вынужден тяжко трудиться. Однажды он увидел, как египтянин избивал иудея.

12 Оглянувшись вокруг и увидев, что никто за ним не наблюдает, Моисей убил египтянина и закопал его в песке.

13 На следующий день Моисей увидел, как два еврея ссорятся друг с другом. Увидев, что один из них неправ, Моисей сказал ему: «Почему ты бьёшь ближнего своего?»

14 «Кто сказал, что ты можешь быть начальником и судьёй над нами? Скажи, ты убьёшь меня, как убил вчера египтянина?» Испугавшись, Моисей подумал: «Теперь все узнают о том, что я совершил».

15 Узнав о том, что сделал Моисей, фараон хотел убить его, но Моисей убежал от фараона и отправился в Мадиамскую землю. Моисей в Мадиаме Придя в Мадиам, Моисей сел у колодца.

16 В той земле жил священник, у которого было семь дочерей. Они пришли к тому колодцу, чтобы напоить овец отца, и стали наполнять жёлоб водой,

17 но местные пастухи отогнали их и не дали им набрать воды. Моисей защитил девушек и напоил их овец.

18 Когда девушки пришли обратно к своему отцу Рагуилу , он сказал: «Вы сегодня рано пришли домой!»

19 Тогда сёстры ответили: «Пастухи хотели прогнать нас, но один египтянин помог нам, набрал для нас воды и напоил овец».

20 Рагуил сказал дочерям: «Где этот человек? Почему вы его оставили? Позовите его, пусть он поест с нами».

21 Моисей был очень рад остаться у этого человека, и Рагуил разрешил ему жениться на своей дочери Сепфоре.

22 Сепфора забеременела и родила сына, которого Моисей назвал Гирсомом, дав ему это имя потому, что Моисей был пришельцем в чужой стране.

23 Прошло много времени. Египетский царь умер, но израильский народ по-прежнему был вынужден тяжко трудиться. Израильтяне взывали Бога о помощи, и Он услышал их.

24 Всевышний услышал их молитвы и вспомнил о соглашении, заключённом с Авраамом, Исааком и Иаковом.

25 Бог видел страдание израильского народа и знал, что вскоре поможет им.

Exodus

Chapter 2

1 AND there went a man from the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of the house of Levi.

2 And the woman conceived and bore a son; and when she saw that he was a handsome boy, she hid him for three months

3 And when she could no longer hide him, she took for herself an ark made of acacia wood, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child into it; and laid it among the reeds by the river's bank.

4 And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him.

5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe in the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maidens to fetch it.

6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child; and, behold, the babe was weeping. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.

7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call for you a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse this child for you?

8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the girl went and called the child's mother.

9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages. So the woman took the child and nursed him.

10 And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses; for she said, I drew him out of the water.

11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown up, that he went out among his brethren, and saw their oppression; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren of the children of Israel.

12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man watching, he slew the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

13 And when he went out the second day, he looked, and behold, two Hebrew men were quarreling together; and he said to him that did the wrong, Why do you beat your fellow?

14 And he replied, Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian yesterday? And Moses was afraid, and said, Surely this thing is known.

15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh, and went to the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.

16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters; and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

17 And the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses rose up and rescued them, and watered their flock.

18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said to them, How is it that you have watered the flock so soon today?

19 And they said to him, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hands of the shepherds and also drew water for us and watered our flock.

20 And he said to his daughters, And where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Go, invite him, that he may eat bread.

21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man; and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

22 And she bore a son, and he called his name Gershon; for Moses said, I have been a stranger in a strange land. And she bore again, the second son to Moses, and he called his name Eleazar, saying, For the God of my fathers has helped me and has delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh.

23 And it came to pass after a long time that the king of Egypt died; and the children of Israel groaned because of severe oppression, and they prayed, and their cry came up to God because of severe oppression.

24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God noticed their oppression.

5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe in the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maidens to fetch it.

6 Открыв корзинку, дочь фараона увидела плачущего младенца и исполнилась жалости к нему. И в этот момент она заметила, что это был один из иудейских детей.

6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child; and, behold, the babe was weeping. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children.

7 Сестра младенца сказала дочери фараона: «Не хочешь ли ты, чтобы я нашла для тебя иудейку, которая могла бы вскормить младенца и помочь тебе присматривать за ним?»

7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call for you a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse this child for you?

8 «Пойди», — сказала дочь фараона. Тогда девочка привела мать младенца.

8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Go. And the girl went and called the child's mother.

9 «Возьми этого ребёнка и вскорми его для меня, — сказала матери дочь фараона. — Я заплачу тебе за это». Женщина взяла ребёнка и стала за ним ухаживать.

9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages. So the woman took the child and nursed him.

10 Ребёнок подрос, и через некоторое время женщина отдала его царской дочери, и та приняла его как своего родного сына, назвав мальчика Моисеем, потому что она достала его из воды.

10 And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses; for she said, I drew him out of the water.

11 Моисей вырос и стал взрослым мужчиной. Он видел, что его собственный народ, иудеи, вынужден тяжко трудиться. Однажды он увидел, как египтянин избивал иудея.

11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown up, that he went out among his brethren, and saw their oppression; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren of the children of Israel.

12 Оглянувшись вокруг и увидев, что никто за ним не наблюдает, Моисей убил египтянина и закопал его в песке.

12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man watching, he slew the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.

13 На следующий день Моисей увидел, как два еврея ссорятся друг с другом. Увидев, что один из них неправ, Моисей сказал ему: «Почему ты бьёшь ближнего своего?»

13 And when he went out the second day, he looked, and behold, two Hebrew men were quarreling together; and he said to him that did the wrong, Why do you beat your fellow?

14 «Кто сказал, что ты можешь быть начальником и судьёй над нами? Скажи, ты убьёшь меня, как убил вчера египтянина?» Испугавшись, Моисей подумал: «Теперь все узнают о том, что я совершил».

14 And he replied, Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you intend to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian yesterday? And Moses was afraid, and said, Surely this thing is known.

15 Узнав о том, что сделал Моисей, фараон хотел убить его, но Моисей убежал от фараона и отправился в Мадиамскую землю. Моисей в Мадиаме Придя в Мадиам, Моисей сел у колодца.

15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh, and went to the land of Midian; and he sat down by a well.

16 В той земле жил священник, у которого было семь дочерей. Они пришли к тому колодцу, чтобы напоить овец отца, и стали наполнять жёлоб водой,

16 Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters; and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

17 но местные пастухи отогнали их и не дали им набрать воды. Моисей защитил девушек и напоил их овец.

17 And the shepherds came and drove them away; but Moses rose up and rescued them, and watered their flock.

18 Когда девушки пришли обратно к своему отцу Рагуилу , он сказал: «Вы сегодня рано пришли домой!»

18 And when they came to Reuel their father, he said to them, How is it that you have watered the flock so soon today?

19 Тогда сёстры ответили: «Пастухи хотели прогнать нас, но один египтянин помог нам, набрал для нас воды и напоил овец».

19 And they said to him, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hands of the shepherds and also drew water for us and watered our flock.

20 Рагуил сказал дочерям: «Где этот человек? Почему вы его оставили? Позовите его, пусть он поест с нами».

20 And he said to his daughters, And where is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Go, invite him, that he may eat bread.

21 Моисей был очень рад остаться у этого человека, и Рагуил разрешил ему жениться на своей дочери Сепфоре.

21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man; and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.

22 Сепфора забеременела и родила сына, которого Моисей назвал Гирсомом, дав ему это имя потому, что Моисей был пришельцем в чужой стране.

23 And it came to pass after a long time that the king of Egypt died; and the children of Israel groaned because of severe oppression, and they prayed, and their cry came up to God because of severe oppression.

24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

25 Бог видел страдание израильского народа и знал, что вскоре поможет им.

25 And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God noticed their oppression.
