Chapter 18

1 And after3326 these5023 things I saw1492 another243 angel32 come2597 down2597 from heaven,3772 having2192 great3173 power;1849 and the earth1093 was lightened5461 with his glory.1391

2 And he cried2896 mightily1722 2479 with a strong3173 voice,5456 saying,3004 Babylon897 the great3173 is fallen,4098 is fallen,4098 and is become1096 the habitation2732 of devils,1142 and the hold5438 of every3956 foul169 spirit,4151 and a cage5438 of every3956 unclean169 and hateful3404 bird.3732

3 For all3956 nations1484 have drunk of the wine3631 of the wrath2372 of her fornication,4202 and the kings935 of the earth1093 have committed4203 fornication4203 with her, and the merchants1713 of the earth1093 are waxed4147 rich4147 through1537 the abundance1411 of her delicacies.4764

4 And I heard191 another243 voice5456 from heaven,3772 saying,3004 Come1831 out of her, my people,2992 that you be not partakers4790 of her sins,266 and that you receive2983 not of her plagues.4127

5 For her sins266 have reached190 to heaven,3772 and God2316 has remembered3421 her iniquities.92

6 Reward591 her even2532 as she rewarded591 you, and double1363 to her double3588 1362 according2596 to her works:2041 in the cup4221 which3739 she has filled2767 fill2767 to her double.1362

7 How3745 much3745 she has glorified1392 herself,1438 and lived deliciously,4763 so5118 much5118 torment929 and sorrow3997 give1325 her: for she said3004 in her heart,2588 I sit2521 a queen,938 and am1510 no3756 widow,5503 and shall see1492 no3364 sorrow.3997

8 Therefore5124 shall her plagues4127 come2240 in one3391 day,2250 death,2288 and mourning,3997 and famine;3042 and she shall be utterly2618 burned2618 with fire:4442 for strong2478 is the Lord2962 God2316 who3588 judges2919 her.

9 And the kings935 of the earth,1093 who3588 have committed4203 fornication4203 and lived deliciously4763 with her, shall mourn2799 her, and lament2875 for her, when3752 they shall see991 the smoke2586 of her burning,4451

10 Standing2476 afar3113 off575 for the fear5401 of her torment,929 saying,3004 Alas,3759 alas3759 that great3173 city4172 Babylon,897 that mighty2478 city!4172 for in one3391 hour5610 is your judgment2920 come.2064

11 And the merchants1713 of the earth1093 shall weep2799 and mourn3996 over1909 her; for no3762 man3762 buys59 their merchandise1117 any3765 more:3765

12 The merchandise1117 of gold,5557 and silver,696 and precious5093 stones,3037 and of pearls,3135 and fine linen,1040 and purple,4209 and silk,4596 and scarlet,2847 and all3956 thyine2367 wood,3586 and all3956 manner vessels4632 of ivory,1661 and all3956 manner vessels4632 of most precious5093 wood,3586 and of brass,5475 and iron,4604 and marble,3139

13 And cinnamon,2792 and odors,2368 and ointments,3464 and frankincense,3030 and wine,3631 and oil,1637 and fine4585 flour,4585 and wheat,4621 and beasts,2934 and sheep,4263 and horses,2462 and chariots,4480 and slaves,4983 and souls5590 of men.444

14 And the fruits3703 that your soul5590 lusted1937 after are departed565 from you, and all3956 things which3588 were dainty3045 and goodly2986 are departed565 from you, and you shall find2147 them no3364 more3765 at all.3364

15 The merchants1713 of these5130 things, which3588 were made4147 rich4147 by her, shall stand2476 afar3113 off575 for the fear5401 of her torment,929 weeping2799 and wailing,3996

16 And saying,3004 Alas,3759 alas 3759that great3173 city,4172 that was clothed4016 in fine linen,1039 and purple,4210 and scarlet,2847 and decked5558 with gold,5557 and precious5093 stones,3037 and pearls!3135

17 For in one3391 hour5610 so5118 great5118 riches4149 is come2049 to nothing.2049 And every3956 shipmaster,2942 and all3956 the company3658 in ships,4143 and sailors,3492 and as many3745 as trade2038 by sea,2281 stood2476 afar3113 off,575

18 And cried2896 when they saw3708 the smoke2586 of her burning,4451 saying,3004 What5101 city4172 is like3664 to this great3173 city!4172

19 And they cast906 dust5522 on1909 their heads,2776 and cried,2896 weeping2799 and wailing,3996 saying,3004 Alas,3759 alas 3759that great3173 city,4172 wherein1722 3757 were made4147 rich4147 all3956 that had2192 ships4143 in the sea2281 by reason1537 of her costliness!5094 for in one hour5610 is she made2049 desolate.2049

20 Rejoice2165 over1909 her, you heaven,3772 and you holy40 apostles652 and prophets;4396 for God2316 has avenged2919 you on1537 her.

21 And a mighty2478 angel32 took142 up a stone3037 like5613 a great3173 millstone,3458 and cast906 it into1519 the sea,2281 saying,3004 Thus3779 with violence3731 shall that great3173 city4172 Babylon897 be thrown906 down, and shall be found2147 no3364 more2089 at all.3364

22 And the voice5456 of harpers,2790 and musicians,3451 and of pipers,834 and trumpeters,4538 shall be heard191 no3364 more2089 at all3364 in you; and no3956 3364 craftsman,5079 of whatever3956 craft5078 he be, shall be found2147 any2089 more2089 in you; and the sound5456 of a millstone3458 shall be heard191 no3364 more2089 at all3364 in you;

23 And the light5457 of a candle3088 shall shine5316 no3364 more2089 at all3364 in you; and the voice5456 of the bridegroom3566 and of the bride3565 shall be heard191 no3364 more2089 at all3364 in you: for your merchants1713 were the great3175 men of the earth;1093 for by your sorceries5331 were all3956 nations1484 deceived.4105

24 And in her was found2147 the blood129 of prophets,4396 and of saints,40 and of all3956 that were slain4969 on the earth.1093

2 Ангел же возвестил громко: «Пал, пал Вавилон великий! Стала столица развратная обиталищем бесов и пристанищем всякого нечистого духа, пристанищем всякой птицы нечистой [и всякого нечистого зверя], ненавистного.

3 От вина блудной страсти ее опьянели все народы; даже цари земли блудили с ней; купцы же разбогатели от безудержного роскошества ее».

4 Потом услышал я другой голос с неба. Он говорил: «Выйди из нее, народ Мой, чтобы не быть тебе соучастником в грехах ее и не подвергнуться каре, ее ожидающей.

5 До небес выросла гора грехов ее — все их припомнил Бог, все неправды ее.

6 Воздайте же ей, как она воздавала, и вдвое воздайте за дела ее. В чаше, в той самой, в которой она подавала вино, дайте и вы ей теперь, но больше вдвое.

7 Сколько превозносила она себя и роскошествовала, столько же воздайте ей мучением и скорбью; за то воздайте, что в сердце своем она говорит: „Сижу, как царица, я не вдова и мне не скорбеть“.

8 Но обрушатся на нее однажды кары, смерть, скорбь и голод; будет сожжена она огнем, велика ведь сила Господа Бога, приговорившего ее.

9 А цари земные, в блуд и роскошь впадавшие с нею, станут бить себя в грудь, возрыдают о ней, когда увидят дым от пожара, в котором сгорит она.

10 Со страхом будут смотреть они издали на мучения ее и тогда возопят: „Горе, горе тебе, великая столица, могущественный город Вавилон! В час единый свершился суд над тобой!“

11 Купцы земные восплачут и будут скорбеть о ней, потому что никто уже не купит товаров у них,

12 золотых товаров и серебряных, камней драгоценных и жемчуга, тончайшего льна, пурпура, шелка и багряницы; разных благовонных деревьев и из кости слоновой различных изделий не купит никто; и утвари всякой из дерева дорогих пород и меди, железа и мрамора тоже не купят.

13 И корицы не купят больше и пряностей, фимиама не купят и мира, и ладана; вина и елея, крупчатки, пшеницы не купят; не купят крупного скота и овец, коней, колесниц, и тел, и душ человеческих

14 (будет сказано о том: „Спелых плодов, которых жаждет душа твоя, не стало у тебя, вся роскошь и весь блеск твой пропали, ничто уже не вернется к тебе“).

15 Страх охватит торговавших всем этим и разбогатевших через великую блудницу купцов, когда увидят они все мучения ее. В ужасе отвернутся они и восплачут отчаянно:

16 „Горе, горе, столица великая, в тончайший лен одетая, в пурпур и багряницу, золотом, драгоценными камнями и жемчугом блистающая!

17 В миг единый в ничто обратилось богатство твое!“ И все, кто живет от моря, кормчие все и матросы, мореплаватели — все они стали поодаль

18 и кричали, глядя на дым, что поднимался над пожарищем: «Какой город сравнится с городом этим великим?»

19 Пеплом посыпали они головы свои и кричали, скорбя и рыдая: „Горе, горе тебе, столица великая! У кого были корабли на море, твоими они все обогащались драгоценностями — вот во мгновение ока в ничто превратилась ты!“

20 А вы, небеса, ликуйте! И вы, народ Божий, апостолы и пророки, ликуйте! Взыскал Бог с нее за вас!»

21 Взял тогда один могучий ангел большой, размером с мельничный, камень и, бросив его в море, сказал: «С такой вот силой будет повержена великая столица Вавилон и не будет уже найдена после того.

22 Не услышат более в тебе ни звуков кифары, ни пения; не прозвучат на улицах твоих флейты и трубы; не найдут у тебя ни одного человека, который продолжал бы заниматься ремеслом своим; и шума жерновов не услышат более в тебе.

23 Не будут уже светильники светить в тебе, и голосов жениха и невесты не будет слышно в тебе. И всё потому, что выше всех считали себя купцы твои на земле, потому что чародейством твоим обмануты были все народы.

24 Будет, будет наказан Вавилон, потому что кровь пророков на нем, кровь всех людей Божьих и вообще всех на земле невинно убиенных».

1 После этого я увидел другого ангела, сходившего с неба. Великая была у него власть, и земля озарилась сиянием славы его.

2 And he cried2896 mightily1722 2479 with a strong3173 voice,5456 saying,3004 Babylon897 the great3173 is fallen,4098 is fallen,4098 and is become1096 the habitation2732 of devils,1142 and the hold5438 of every3956 foul169 spirit,4151 and a cage5438 of every3956 unclean169 and hateful3404 bird.3732

2 Ангел же возвестил громко: «Пал, пал Вавилон великий! Стала столица развратная обиталищем бесов и пристанищем всякого нечистого духа, пристанищем всякой птицы нечистой [и всякого нечистого зверя], ненавистного.

3 От вина блудной страсти ее опьянели все народы; даже цари земли блудили с ней; купцы же разбогатели от безудержного роскошества ее».

4 Потом услышал я другой голос с неба. Он говорил: «Выйди из нее, народ Мой, чтобы не быть тебе соучастником в грехах ее и не подвергнуться каре, ее ожидающей.

5 До небес выросла гора грехов ее — все их припомнил Бог, все неправды ее.

6 Воздайте же ей, как она воздавала, и вдвое воздайте за дела ее. В чаше, в той самой, в которой она подавала вино, дайте и вы ей теперь, но больше вдвое.

7 Сколько превозносила она себя и роскошествовала, столько же воздайте ей мучением и скорбью; за то воздайте, что в сердце своем она говорит: „Сижу, как царица, я не вдова и мне не скорбеть“.

8 Но обрушатся на нее однажды кары, смерть, скорбь и голод; будет сожжена она огнем, велика ведь сила Господа Бога, приговорившего ее.

9 А цари земные, в блуд и роскошь впадавшие с нею, станут бить себя в грудь, возрыдают о ней, когда увидят дым от пожара, в котором сгорит она.

10 Со страхом будут смотреть они издали на мучения ее и тогда возопят: „Горе, горе тебе, великая столица, могущественный город Вавилон! В час единый свершился суд над тобой!“

11 And the merchants1713 of the earth1093 shall weep2799 and mourn3996 over1909 her; for no3762 man3762 buys59 their merchandise1117 any3765 more:3765

11 Купцы земные восплачут и будут скорбеть о ней, потому что никто уже не купит товаров у них,

12 The merchandise1117 of gold,5557 and silver,696 and precious5093 stones,3037 and of pearls,3135 and fine linen,1040 and purple,4209 and silk,4596 and scarlet,2847 and all3956 thyine2367 wood,3586 and all3956 manner vessels4632 of ivory,1661 and all3956 manner vessels4632 of most precious5093 wood,3586 and of brass,5475 and iron,4604 and marble,3139

12 золотых товаров и серебряных, камней драгоценных и жемчуга, тончайшего льна, пурпура, шелка и багряницы; разных благовонных деревьев и из кости слоновой различных изделий не купит никто; и утвари всякой из дерева дорогих пород и меди, железа и мрамора тоже не купят.

13 And cinnamon,2792 and odors,2368 and ointments,3464 and frankincense,3030 and wine,3631 and oil,1637 and fine4585 flour,4585 and wheat,4621 and beasts,2934 and sheep,4263 and horses,2462 and chariots,4480 and slaves,4983 and souls5590 of men.444

13 И корицы не купят больше и пряностей, фимиама не купят и мира, и ладана; вина и елея, крупчатки, пшеницы не купят; не купят крупного скота и овец, коней, колесниц, и тел, и душ человеческих

14 And the fruits3703 that your soul5590 lusted1937 after are departed565 from you, and all3956 things which3588 were dainty3045 and goodly2986 are departed565 from you, and you shall find2147 them no3364 more3765 at all.3364

14 (будет сказано о том: „Спелых плодов, которых жаждет душа твоя, не стало у тебя, вся роскошь и весь блеск твой пропали, ничто уже не вернется к тебе“).

15 Страх охватит торговавших всем этим и разбогатевших через великую блудницу купцов, когда увидят они все мучения ее. В ужасе отвернутся они и восплачут отчаянно:

16 And saying,3004 Alas,3759 alas 3759that great3173 city,4172 that was clothed4016 in fine linen,1039 and purple,4210 and scarlet,2847 and decked5558 with gold,5557 and precious5093 stones,3037 and pearls!3135

16 „Горе, горе, столица великая, в тончайший лен одетая, в пурпур и багряницу, золотом, драгоценными камнями и жемчугом блистающая!

17 For in one3391 hour5610 so5118 great5118 riches4149 is come2049 to nothing.2049 And every3956 shipmaster,2942 and all3956 the company3658 in ships,4143 and sailors,3492 and as many3745 as trade2038 by sea,2281 stood2476 afar3113 off,575

17 В миг единый в ничто обратилось богатство твое!“ И все, кто живет от моря, кормчие все и матросы, мореплаватели — все они стали поодаль

18 And cried2896 when they saw3708 the smoke2586 of her burning,4451 saying,3004 What5101 city4172 is like3664 to this great3173 city!4172

18 и кричали, глядя на дым, что поднимался над пожарищем: «Какой город сравнится с городом этим великим?»

19 And they cast906 dust5522 on1909 their heads,2776 and cried,2896 weeping2799 and wailing,3996 saying,3004 Alas,3759 alas 3759that great3173 city,4172 wherein1722 3757 were made4147 rich4147 all3956 that had2192 ships4143 in the sea2281 by reason1537 of her costliness!5094 for in one hour5610 is she made2049 desolate.2049

19 Пеплом посыпали они головы свои и кричали, скорбя и рыдая: „Горе, горе тебе, столица великая! У кого были корабли на море, твоими они все обогащались драгоценностями — вот во мгновение ока в ничто превратилась ты!“

20 Rejoice2165 over1909 her, you heaven,3772 and you holy40 apostles652 and prophets;4396 for God2316 has avenged2919 you on1537 her.

20 А вы, небеса, ликуйте! И вы, народ Божий, апостолы и пророки, ликуйте! Взыскал Бог с нее за вас!»

21 And a mighty2478 angel32 took142 up a stone3037 like5613 a great3173 millstone,3458 and cast906 it into1519 the sea,2281 saying,3004 Thus3779 with violence3731 shall that great3173 city4172 Babylon897 be thrown906 down, and shall be found2147 no3364 more2089 at all.3364

21 Взял тогда один могучий ангел большой, размером с мельничный, камень и, бросив его в море, сказал: «С такой вот силой будет повержена великая столица Вавилон и не будет уже найдена после того.

22 Не услышат более в тебе ни звуков кифары, ни пения; не прозвучат на улицах твоих флейты и трубы; не найдут у тебя ни одного человека, который продолжал бы заниматься ремеслом своим; и шума жерновов не услышат более в тебе.

23 And the light5457 of a candle3088 shall shine5316 no3364 more2089 at all3364 in you; and the voice5456 of the bridegroom3566 and of the bride3565 shall be heard191 no3364 more2089 at all3364 in you: for your merchants1713 were the great3175 men of the earth;1093 for by your sorceries5331 were all3956 nations1484 deceived.4105

23 Не будут уже светильники светить в тебе, и голосов жениха и невесты не будет слышно в тебе. И всё потому, что выше всех считали себя купцы твои на земле, потому что чародейством твоим обмануты были все народы.

24 And in her was found2147 the blood129 of prophets,4396 and of saints,40 and of all3956 that were slain4969 on the earth.1093

24 Будет, будет наказан Вавилон, потому что кровь пророков на нем, кровь всех людей Божьих и вообще всех на земле невинно убиенных».
