2 sprach559 Asarja5838, der Sohn1121 Hosajas1955, und Johanan3110, der Sohn1121 Kareahs7143, und alle frechen2086 Männer582 zu Jeremia3414: Du559 lügest! Der HErr3068, unser GOtt430, hat1696 dich nicht8267 zu uns gesandt7971 noch gesagt559: Ihr sollt nicht nach Ägypten4714 ziehen935, daselbst zu wohnen1481,

3 sondern Baruch1263, der Sohn1121 Nerias5374, beredet5496 dich des uns3027 zuwider, auf daß4616 wir den Chaldäern3778 übergeben werden1540, daß sie5414 uns töten4191 und gen Babel894 wegführen.

4 Also gehorchte8085 Johanan3110, der Sohn1121 Kareahs7143, und2428 alle Hauptleute8269 des Heers samt dem ganzen Volk5971 der Stimme6963 des HErrn3068 nicht, daß sie3427 im Lande776 Juda3063 wären geblieben,

5 sondern Johanan3110, der Sohn1121 Kareahs7143, und2428 alle Hauptleute8269 des Heers nahmen3947 zu sich7725 alle Übrigen7611 aus Juda3063, so von allen Völkern1471, dahin sie geflohen5080, wiederkommen waren, daß sie im Lande776 Juda3063 wohneten,

6 nämlich Mann1397, Weiber802 und Kinder2945, dazu des Königs4428 Töchter1323 und alle7227 Seelen5315, die Nebusar-Adan, der Hauptmann, bei Gedalja1436, dem Sohn1121 Ahikams296, des Sohns Saphans8227, hatte gelassen3240, auch den Propheten5030 Jeremia3414 und Baruch1263, den Sohn Nerias5374,

7 und zogen935 nach Ägyptenland776, denn sie wollten der Stimme6963 des HErrn3068 nicht gehorchen8085, und kamen935 gen Thachpanhes8471.

8 Und des HErrn3068 Wort1697 geschah zu Jeremia3414 zu Thachpanhes8471 und sprach559:

9 Nimm große1419 Steine68 und verscharre2934 sie3027 im Ziegelofen4404, der vor5869 der Tür6607 am Hause1004 Pharaos6547 ist3947 zu Thachpanhes8471, daß die Männer582 aus Juda3064 zusehen

10 und sprich559 zu ihnen: So spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635, der GOtt430 Israels3478: Siehe, ich will hinsenden und meinen Knecht5650 Nebukadnezar5019, den König4428 zu Babel894, holen lassen7971 und will seinen Stuhl3678 oben auf4605 diese Steine68 setzen7760, die ich verscharret habe2934; und er soll3947 sein Gezelt8237 darüber schlagen.

11 Und er soll kommen935 und Ägyptenland776 schlagen5221 und töten, wen es trifft4194, gefangen7628 führen7628, wen es trifft4194, mit dem Schwert2719 schlagen, wen es trifft.

12 Und8313 ich will die Häuser1004 der Götter430 in Ägypten4714 mit Feuer784 anstecken3341, daß er sie verbrenne und7617 wegführe. Und er soll ihm Ägyptenland776 anziehen5844, wie ein Hirte7462 sein Kleid899 anzeucht, und mit Frieden7965 von3318 dannen ziehen.

13 Er430 soll die Bildsäulen4676 zu Beth-Semes1053 in Ägyptenland776 zerbrechen7665 und1004 die Götzenkirchen in Ägypten4714 mit Feuer784 verbrennen8313.

Chapter 43

1 AND it came to pass when Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of the LORD their God, for which the LORD their God had sent him to them to speak to them all these words,

2 Then Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the wicked men said to Jeremiah, You speak falsely; the LORD our God has not sent you to say to us, You shall not go into Egypt to sojourn there;

3 But Baruch the son of Neriah stirred you up against us to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans that they might kill us or carry us away captives into Babylon.

4 So Johanan the son of Kareah and all the officers of the forces and all the people did not obey the voice of the LORD their God, to dwell in the land of Judah.

5 But Johanan the son of Kareah took all the officers of the forces and all the remnant of the people who were left from the house of Judah,

6 Men and women and children and the king's household and every person whom Nebuzaradan the general of the guard had left with Gedeliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet and Baruch the son of Neriah.

7 So they came into the land of Egypt; for they did not obey the voice of the LORD; thus they came as far as Tahpanhes.

8 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,

9 Take large stones in your hands and hide them in the mortar in the brickkiln which is at the entrance of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;

10 And say to them. Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon. my servant, and will set his throne above these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.

11 And he shall come and smite the land of Egypt, and he shall deliver those who are for death to death and those who are for captivity to captivity and those who are for the sword to the sword.

12 And he shall kindle a fire in the house of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them and carry them away captives; and he shall conquer the land of Egypt as easily as a shepherd puts on his woolen cloak; and he shall go away from thence peacefully.

13 He shall break also in pieces the image of Beth-shemesh which is in the land of Egypt; and the temples of the gods of the Egyptians he shall burn with fire.
