2 Всяка дорога люди́ни пряма́ в її о́чах, та керує серцями Госпо́дь. |

3 Справедливість та правду чинити — для Господа це добірні́ше за жертву. |
|
4 Муж гордого ока та серця надутого — несправедливий, а світильник безбожних — це гріх. |
|
5 Думки пильного лиш на достаток ведуть, а всякий квапли́вий — на збиток. |
|
6 Набува́ння майна язико́м неправдивим — це скоромину́ща марно́та шукаючих смерти. |
|
7 Насильство безбожних пряму́є на них, бо пра́ва чинити не хо́чуть. |
|
8 Дорога злочинця крута́, а чистий — прями́й його чин. |
|
9 Ліпше жити в куті́ на даху́, ніж з сварливою жінкою в спі́льному домі. |
|
10 Лихого жадає душа нечестивого, і в о́чах його ближній його не отримає милости. |
|
11 Як карають глумли́вця мудріє безумний, а як мудрого вчать, — знання́ набуває. |
|
12 До дому свого пригляда́ється праведний, а безбожний дово́дить до зла. |
|
13 Хто вухо своє затикає від зо́йку убогого, то й він буде кликати, та не отримає відповіді. |
|
14 Таємний дару́нок пога́шує гнів, а нея́вний гости́нець — лють сильну. |
|
15 Радість праведному — правосу́ддя чинити, а злочи́нцеві — страх. |
|
16 Люди́на, що зблуджує від путі розуму, у зборі померлих спочине. |
|
17 Хто любить весе́лощі, той немаю́чий, хто любить вино та оливу, той не збагаті́є. |
|
18 Безбожний — то викуп за праведного, а лукавий — за щирого. |
|
19 Ліпше сидіти в пусти́нній країні, ніж з сварливою та сердитою жінкою. |
|
20 Скарб цінни́й та олива в мешка́нні премудрого, та нищить безумна люди́на його. |
|
21 Хто жене́ться за праведністю та за милістю, той знахо́дить життя, справедливість та славу. |
|
22 До міста хоробрих уві́йде премудрий, і тверди́ню наді́ї його поруйнує. |
|
23 Хто стереже свої уста й свого язика́, той душу свою зберігає від лиха. |
|
24 Надутий пихо́ю — насмішник ім'я́ йому, він робить усе із бундю́чним зухва́льством. |
|
25 Пожада́ння лінивого вб'є його, бо руки його відмовляють робити, — |
|
26 він кожного дня пожадли́во жадає, а справедливий дає та не жалує. |
|
27 Жертва безбожних — оги́да, а надто тоді, як за ді́ло безчесне прино́ситься. |
|
28 Свідок брехливий загине, а люди́на, що слухає Боже, говори́тиме за́вжди. |
|
29 Безбожна люди́на жорстока обличчям своїм, а невинний зміцня́є дорогу свою. |
|
30 Нема мудрости, ані розуму, ані ради насу́проти Господа. |
|
31 Приготовлений кінь на день бо́ю, але́ перемога від Господа! |

|
1 LIKE streams of water, so is the king's heart in the hand of the LORD; he turns it wherever he will. |
|
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; but the LORD sets the heart in order. |
|
3 He who does righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than he who offers a sacrifice. |
|
4 Haughty eyes, a proud heart, and the posterity of the wicked are sinful. |
|
5 The thoughts of the elect tend surely to plenteousness; but those of evil men cause want. |
|
6 The getting of treasure by a lying tongue will bring destruction and death to those who seek it. |
|
7 The destruction of the wicked shall come upon them because they refused to do justice. |
|
8 He who perverts his own way acts strangely; but he who is pure, his works are right. |
|
9 It is better to dwell alone in a corner of the housetop than to live with a quarrelsome woman in a large house. |
|
10 The soul of a wicked man is hidden from his neighbor's eyes. |
|
11 When a wicked man suffers harm, even the simple become wise; but a wise man receives knowledge through his own counsel. |
|
12 The righteous man wisely understands the hearts of the wicked; and he overthrows the wicked into mischief. |
|
13 He who closes his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry to God, but he shall not answer him. |
|
14 A gift in secret pacifies anger; but he who is sparing with his gifts stirs wrath. |
|
15 It is joy to the righteous to do justice, but destruction to the workers of iniquity. |
|
16 The man who wanders from the way of understanding shall lie in the congregation of the dead. |
|
17 He who lacks wealth and yet loves entertainment, wine, and pleasure shall not be rich. |
|
18 The wicked shall be given as a ransom for the righteous, and the deceitful for the upright. |
|
19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness than with a quarrelsome and an angry wife. |
|
20 A coveted treasure and ointment are in a dwelling place; but the wisdom and understanding of men shall dispense it. |
|
21 He who seeks after righteousness and mercy will find life, righteousness, and honor. |
|
22 A wise man scales the defenses of the city of mighty men and conquers the stronghold in which they trusted. |
|
23 He who keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from trouble. |
|
24 In his wrath a hasty and proud man commits iniquity. |
|
25 The desire of the sluggard kills him; for his hands refuse to labor. |
|
26 He covets greedily all the day long; but the righteous man gives and does not spare. |
|
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; because they bring it in an unjust way. |
|
28 A false witness shall perish; but an obedient man speaks truth. |
|
29 The face of a wicked man is shameless; but he who is upright amends his ways. |
|
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel like that of the LORD. |
|
31 The horse may be prepared for the day of battle; but salvation is of the LORD. |
