1 Предсказание о Дамаске. «Не быть Дамаску городом цветущим, грудой развалин станет он!
2 Города Ароэра будут заброшены, лишь стадам будет там привольно отдыхать, и никто не потревожит их.
3 Лишится укреплений своих Ефрем, перестанет быть царством Дамаск, и всех, кто остался в живых в Сирии, ждет то же, что было со славой сынов Израиля», — это слово ГОСПОДА Воинств.
4 «Настанет тот день, когда умалится слава Иакова, лишится он тучности своей и сделается тощим.
5 Будет это, как во время жатвы, когда срезают колосья и за жнецами снопы собирают в долине рефаимов.
6 Мало что останется после жатвы: как при сборе оливок две-три ягоды остаются на самой верхушке и четыре-пять — на плодоносных ветках», — это слово ГОСПОДА, Бога Израиля!
7 В тот день обратит человек свой взор на Создателя своего, на Святого Бога Израиля будут смотреть глаза его,
8 а не на жертвенники — не на собственное свое произведение, соделанное руками его; на рощи, посвященные Ашере, на жертвенники для воскурений богам ложным он даже не взглянет.
9 В тот день их опустевшие укрепленные города зарастут лесом густым. Бросят их из-за сынов Израиля, и будет там запустение.
10 А ты, столица Израиля, забыла Бога, Спасителя своего, о Твердыне истинной, прибежище твоем, даже не вспоминаешь; посему, хотя ты и насадила лозы чужеродные и разбила сады наслаждений,
11 хотя сажаешь ты, чтобы выросло оно в тот же день, и сеешь, чтобы зацвело в то же утро, не дождаться тебе урожая — впереди у тебя дни страданий и боли безутешной.
12 Беда надвигается! Народы повсюду злобою кипят, будто моря разбушевались; бурлит племен множество, будто мощные воды шумят.
13 Гул потоков племен реву великих вод подобен, но только погрозит Он им — и побегут они далеко-далеко, страхом гонимые, как солома горным ветром, как облако пыли в бурю.
14 Вечером наводят они ужас — а к утру нет их уже! Таков удел всех, кто грабит нас, жребий тех, кто нас обирает.

3 The fortress4013 also shall cease7673 from Ephraim,4480669 and the kingdom4467 from Damascus,44801834 and the remnant7605 of Syria:758 they shall be1961 as the glory3519 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 saith5002 the LORD3068 of hosts.6635
4 And in that1931 day3117 it shall come to pass,1961that the glory3519 of Jacob3290 shall be made thin,1809 and the fatness4924 of his flesh1320 shall wax lean.7329
5 And it shall be1961 as when the harvest man7105 gathereth622 the corn,7054 and reapeth7114 the ears7641 with his arm;2220 and it shall be1961 as he that gathereth3950 ears7641 in the valley6010 of Rephaim.7497
6 Yet gleaning grapes5955 shall be left7604 in it, as the shaking5363 of an olive tree,2132 two8147or three7969 berries1620 in the top7218 of the uppermost bough,534 four702or five2568 in the outermost fruitful6509 branches5585 thereof, saith5002 the LORD3068 God430 of Israel.3478
7 At that1931 day3117 shall a man120 look8159 to5921 his Maker,6213 and his eyes5869 shall have respect7200 to413 the Holy One6918 of Israel.3478
8 And he shall not3808 look8159 to413 the altars,4196 the work4639 of his hands,3027 neither3808 shall respect7200that which834 his fingers676 have made,6213 either the groves,842 or the images.2553
9 In that1931 day3117 shall his strong4581 cities5892 be1961 as a forsaken5800 bough,2793 and an uppermost branch,534 which834 they left5800 because44806440 of the children1121 of Israel:3478 and there shall be1961 desolation.8077

14 Вечером наводят они ужас — а к утру нет их уже! Таков удел всех, кто грабит нас, жребий тех, кто нас обирает.
