Глава 5

1 Сын мой! Прислушайся к мудрости моей, к здравомыслию моему приклони слух,

2 чтобы ты не утратил рассудительности, чтобы уста твои хранили знание,

3 ибо мед сочится с уст чужой жены, речи ее льются, словно масло.

4 Но горше полыни станет она, острее меча обоюдоострого.

5 Ноги ее вниз ведут, в царство смерти, с каждым шагом она всё ближе к Шеолу.

6 Не задумывается она о стезе жизни. Пути ее блуждают, и она не ведает о том.

7 Так послушайте меня, юноши, от слов из уст моих не отступайте.

8 Обходи ее стороной, не приближайся к дверям дома ее,

9 чтобы честь свою не отдать чужим, годы жизни своей — человеку жестокому,

10 чтобы чужие силой твоей не насытились, чтобы дом чужой твоим трудом не обогатился,

11 чтобы ты горько не сетовал в старости, когда плоть твоя и тело будут изнурены,

12 чтобы не говорил: «Ах, зачем я возненавидел наставление, зачем сердцем отвергал обличение?

13 Учителям своим я не повиновался, к наставникам не прислушивался.

14 А теперь я на краю гибели на глазах у всего народа».

15 Воду пей из своего колодца, жажду утоляй свежей водой — из своего источника.

16 Пусть не разливаются родники твои по улицам, ручьи твои — по площадям.

17 Пусть тебе одному они принадлежат, а не чужим, что с тобою рядом.

18 Да будет родник твой благословен, и пусть радует тебя жена юности твоей,

19 лань любимая, серна нежная. Пусть ее груди всегда утоляют жажду твою и любовь к ней непрестанно кружит тебе голову.

20 И зачем тебе, сын мой, опьяняться чужою, обнимать замужнюю, грудь ее лаская?

21 Ведь все пути человека пред очами ГОСПОДНИМИ, все стези его видит Он.

22 Попадет нечестивец в сеть своих преступлений, в ловушке греха своего окажется.

23 Погибнет он, лишенный назидания, от избытка глупости пропадет.
