Chapter 8

1 THE LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2 Speak to Aaron and say to him, When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the candlestick.

3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the seven lamps thereof in front of the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.

4 And the work of the candlestick was of molten gold; from its base to its flower was of cast work; according to the pattern which the LORD had shown to Moses, so he made the candlestick.

5 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

7 And thus you shall do to them to cleanse them: Sprinkle purifying water upon them, and let them shave all the body, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

8 Then let them take a young bullock with its meal offering, a dish full of fine flour mixed with oil, and another young bullock shall you offer for a sin offering.

9 And you shall bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation; and you shall gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together;

10 Then you shall bring the Levites before the LORD; and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites;

11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering from the children of Israel, that they may perform the service of the LORD.

12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.

13 And you shall make the Levites stand before Aaron and before his sons, and offer them for an offering to the LORD.

14 Thus shall you separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine.

15 And after that the Levites shall go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; and you shall cleanse them, and offer them for an offering before the LORD.

16 For they are wholly given to me as a gift from among the children of Israel; instead of all that open the womb, even instead of the first-born of all the children of Israel, have I taken them to me.

17 For all the first-born of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast; on the day that I smote every first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.

18 And I have taken the Levites for all the first-born of the children of Israel.

19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation and to make an atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel when they come near to the sanctuary.

20 And Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel did to the Levites according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites; so did the children of Israel to them.

21 And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them and cleansed them.

22 And after that the Levites went in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron and before his sons; as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did unto them the children of Israel.

23 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

24 This shall be the law for the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall go in to do the work of the tabernacle of the congregation;

25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease from the service and shall serve no more,

26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation to keep guard, and shall do no service. Thus shall you do to the Levites concerning their charge.

4 И вот устройство4639 светильника:4501 чеканный4749 он из золота,2091 от стебля3409 его и до цветов6525 чеканный;4749 по образу,4758 который показал7200 Господь3068 Моисею,4872 он сделал6213 светильник.4501

5 И сказал1696 Господь3068 Моисею,4872 говоря:559

6 возьми3947 левитов3881 из среды8432 сынов1121 Израилевых3478 и очисти2891 их;

7 а чтобы очистить2891 их, поступи6213 с ними так: окропи5137 их очистительною2403 водою,4325 и пусть они обреют5674 бритвою8593 все тело1320 свое и вымоют3526 одежды899 свои, и будут2891 чисты;2891

8 и пусть возьмут3947 тельца112112416499 и хлебное4503 приношение4503 к нему, пшеничной5560 муки,5560 смешанной1101 с елеем,8081 и другого8145 тельца112112416499 возьми3947 в жертву2403 за грех;2403

9 и приведи7126 левитов3881 пред3942 скинию168 собрания;4150 и собери6950 все общество5712 сынов1121 Израилевых3478

10 и приведи7126 левитов3881 их пред3942 Господа,3068 и пусть возложат5564 сыны1121 Израилевы3478 руки3027 свои на левитов;3881

11 Аарон175 же пусть совершит5130 над левитами3881 посвящение8573 их пред3942 Господом3068 от сынов1121 Израилевых,3478 чтобы отправляли5647 они служение5656 Господу;3068

12 а левиты3881 пусть возложат5564 руки3027 свои на голову7218 тельцов,6499 и принеси6213 одного259 в жертву2403 за грех,2403 а другого259 во всесожжение5930 Господу,3068 для очищения3722 левитов;3881

3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the seven lamps thereof in front of the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.

4 And the work of the candlestick was of molten gold; from its base to its flower was of cast work; according to the pattern which the LORD had shown to Moses, so he made the candlestick.

5 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

10 Then you shall bring the Levites before the LORD; and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites;

11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering from the children of Israel, that they may perform the service of the LORD.

11 Аарон175 же пусть совершит5130 над левитами3881 посвящение8573 их пред3942 Господом3068 от сынов1121 Израилевых,3478 чтобы отправляли5647 они служение5656 Господу;3068

12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.

13 And you shall make the Levites stand before Aaron and before his sons, and offer them for an offering to the LORD.

14 Thus shall you separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine.

20 And Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel did to the Levites according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites; so did the children of Israel to them.
