Chapter 28

1 AND it came to pass that same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, Hananiah the son of Azur the false prophet, who was from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the LORD in the presence of the priests and in the presence of all the people, saying,

2 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.

3 Within two years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the LORD'S house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.

4 And I will bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah who went to Babylon, says the LORD; for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

5 Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the false prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and in the presence of all the people who stood in the house of the LORD.

6 And Jeremiah said, Amen! may the LORD do so; the LORD perform the words which you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the LORD'S house and all the captives from Babylon to this place.

7 Nevertheless, hear now this word which I speak before you and before all the people;

8 The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied both against many countries and against great kingdoms, of war and of evil and of pestilence.

9 If a prophet prophesies of peace, then when the word of that prophet shall come to pass, he shall be known as the one whom the LORD has truly sent.

10 Then Hananiah the false prophet took the bands of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and broke them.

11 And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus says the LORD: Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations within two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

12 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, after Hananiah the false prophet had broken the yoke bands from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

13 Go and tell Hananiah the false prophet, Thus says the LORD: You have broken the yoke of wood; but you shall make in their place a yoke of iron.

14 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him; and I have given him the beasts of the field also.

15 Then said the prophet Jeremiah to Hananiah the false prophet, Hear now, Hananiah, the LORD has not sent you; but you make this people to trust in a lie.

16 Therefore, thus says the LORD: Behold, I will cast you from off the face of the earth; this very year you shall die, for you have spoken iniquity in the presence of the LORD.

17 So Hananiah the false prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

1 В пятом месяце того же года, четвертого года, в начале правления Цедекии, царя Иудеи, пророк Ханания, сын Азура, из Гаваона сказал мне в доме Господнем при священниках и при всем народе:

2 — Так говорит Господь Сил, Бог Израиля: «Я разобью ярмо царя вавилонского.

3 Не пройдет двух лет, как Я верну сюда всю утварь дома Господня, которую Навуходоносор, царь Вавилона, забрал отсюда и увез в Вавилон.

4 Я верну сюда и иудейского царя Иехонию, сына Иоакима, и всех остальных пленников из Иудеи, которых увели в Вавилон, — возвещает Господь, — потому что Я разобью ярмо царя Вавилона».

5 И пророк Иеремия ответил пророку Ханании при священниках и при всем народе, который стоял в доме Господнем.

6 Он сказал: — Аминь! Пусть Господь сделает так! Пусть Господь исполнит слова твоего пророчества, вернув сюда из Вавилона утварь Господнего дома и всех пленников.

7 Но послушай-ка, что я скажу тебе и всему этому народу:

8 пророки, что были до тебя и до меня, издревле пророчили многим странам и великим царствам войны, невзгоды и мор.

9 Но пророка, который предсказывал мир, признавали истинным Господним посланником лишь тогда, когда его пророчество сбывалось.

10 Тогда пророк Ханания снял ярмо с шеи пророка Иеремии, разбил его

11 и сказал всему народу: — Так говорит Господь: «Не пройдет двух лет, как Я так же разобью ярмо, которое Навуходоносор, царь Вавилона, надел на шею всех народов». И пророк Иеремия пошел своей дорогой.

12 Вскоре после того, как пророк Ханания разбил ярмо, надетое на шею пророка Иеремии, было слово Господне к Иеремии:

13 — Иди и скажи Ханании: «Так говорит Господь: Ты разбил деревянное ярмо, но его сменит ярмо железное.

14 Так говорит Господь Сил, Бог Израиля: Я надену на шею всех этих народов ярмо из железа, чтобы заставить их служить Навуходоносору, царю Вавилона, и они будут ему служить. Я дам ему власть даже над дикими зверями».

15 И пророк Иеремия сказал пророку Ханании: — Послушай, Ханания! Господь не посылал тебя. Ты заставил этот народ поверить лжи.

16 «За это так говорит Господь: Я сотру тебя с лица земли. В этом году ты умрешь за то, что призывал к отступничеству от Господа».

17 И в седьмом месяце того же года пророк Ханания умер.

2 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.

2 — Так говорит Господь Сил, Бог Израиля: «Я разобью ярмо царя вавилонского.

3 Within two years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the LORD'S house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon.

3 Не пройдет двух лет, как Я верну сюда всю утварь дома Господня, которую Навуходоносор, царь Вавилона, забрал отсюда и увез в Вавилон.

4 And I will bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah who went to Babylon, says the LORD; for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

4 Я верну сюда и иудейского царя Иехонию, сына Иоакима, и всех остальных пленников из Иудеи, которых увели в Вавилон, — возвещает Господь, — потому что Я разобью ярмо царя Вавилона».

5 Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the false prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and in the presence of all the people who stood in the house of the LORD.

5 И пророк Иеремия ответил пророку Ханании при священниках и при всем народе, который стоял в доме Господнем.

6 And Jeremiah said, Amen! may the LORD do so; the LORD perform the words which you have prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the LORD'S house and all the captives from Babylon to this place.

6 Он сказал: — Аминь! Пусть Господь сделает так! Пусть Господь исполнит слова твоего пророчества, вернув сюда из Вавилона утварь Господнего дома и всех пленников.

7 Nevertheless, hear now this word which I speak before you and before all the people;

7 Но послушай-ка, что я скажу тебе и всему этому народу:

8 The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied both against many countries and against great kingdoms, of war and of evil and of pestilence.

8 пророки, что были до тебя и до меня, издревле пророчили многим странам и великим царствам войны, невзгоды и мор.

9 If a prophet prophesies of peace, then when the word of that prophet shall come to pass, he shall be known as the one whom the LORD has truly sent.

9 Но пророка, который предсказывал мир, признавали истинным Господним посланником лишь тогда, когда его пророчество сбывалось.

10 Then Hananiah the false prophet took the bands of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and broke them.

10 Тогда пророк Ханания снял ярмо с шеи пророка Иеремии, разбил его

11 And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus says the LORD: Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations within two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

11 и сказал всему народу: — Так говорит Господь: «Не пройдет двух лет, как Я так же разобью ярмо, которое Навуходоносор, царь Вавилона, надел на шею всех народов». И пророк Иеремия пошел своей дорогой.

12 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, after Hananiah the false prophet had broken the yoke bands from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,

12 Вскоре после того, как пророк Ханания разбил ярмо, надетое на шею пророка Иеремии, было слово Господне к Иеремии:

13 Go and tell Hananiah the false prophet, Thus says the LORD: You have broken the yoke of wood; but you shall make in their place a yoke of iron.

13 — Иди и скажи Ханании: «Так говорит Господь: Ты разбил деревянное ярмо, но его сменит ярмо железное.

14 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him; and I have given him the beasts of the field also.

14 Так говорит Господь Сил, Бог Израиля: Я надену на шею всех этих народов ярмо из железа, чтобы заставить их служить Навуходоносору, царю Вавилона, и они будут ему служить. Я дам ему власть даже над дикими зверями».

15 Then said the prophet Jeremiah to Hananiah the false prophet, Hear now, Hananiah, the LORD has not sent you; but you make this people to trust in a lie.

15 И пророк Иеремия сказал пророку Ханании: — Послушай, Ханания! Господь не посылал тебя. Ты заставил этот народ поверить лжи.

16 Therefore, thus says the LORD: Behold, I will cast you from off the face of the earth; this very year you shall die, for you have spoken iniquity in the presence of the LORD.

16 «За это так говорит Господь: Я сотру тебя с лица земли. В этом году ты умрешь за то, что призывал к отступничеству от Господа».

17 So Hananiah the false prophet died the same year in the seventh month.

17 И в седьмом месяце того же года пророк Ханания умер.
