Chapter 10

1 AT that time the LORD said to me, Hew two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain, and make yourself an ark of wood.

2 And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.

3 So I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tablets of stone like the first, and went up on the mountain, having the two tablets in my hands.

4 And he wrote on the tablets, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spoke to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly; and the LORD gave them to me.

5 And I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and I left them in it, as the LORD commanded me.

6 And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera; there Aaron died, and there he was buried, and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest's office in his stead.

7 From thence they journeyed to Gadgad; and from Gadgad to Jotbath, a land of brooks of waters.

8 At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi, to carry the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister to him, and to bless the name of the LORD, to this day.

9 Therefore Levi has no portion nor inheritance with his brethren; because the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD your God promised him.

10 And I stayed before the LORD on the mountain according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened to me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy you.

11 And the LORD said to me, Arise, take your journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land which I swore to their fathers to give to them.

12 And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to revere the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,

13 To keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his statutes, which I command you this day for your good?

14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens belongs to the LORD your God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

15 Only the LORD had a delight in your fathers and he loved them, and he chose their descendants after them, even you above all peoples, as it is this day.

16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

17 For the LORD your God is he who is the God of gods, and the LORD of lords, a great God, a mighty and a terrible, who is never partial, nor takes bribes;

18 He does execute justice for the fatherless and the widows, and loves him who turns to him, and gives him food and clothing.

19 Love therefore those who turn to him; for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

20 You shall revere the LORD your God; him shall you serve, and to him shall you cleave, and swear by his name.

21 For he is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and wonderful things which your eyes have seen.

22 Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons; and now the LORD your God has made you as the stars of heaven in multitude.

1 Zu derselben Zeit6256 sprach559 der HErr3068 zu mir8147: Haue6458 dir zwo steinerne68 Tafeln3871, wie die ersten7223, und komm zu mir auf5927 den Berg2022 und mache6213 dir eine hölzerne6086 Lade727,

2 so will ich auf die Tafeln3871 schreiben die Worte1697, die auf den ersten7223 waren, die du zerbrochen7665 hast3789; und sollst sie3871 in die Lade727 legen7760.

3 Also machte6213 ich eine Lade727 von Föhrenholz und6086 hieb6458 zwo steinerne68 Tafeln3871, wie die ersten7223 waren, und ging auf5927 den Berg2022 und hatte die zwo Tafeln3871 in meinen Händen3027.

4 Da schrieb3789 er auf8432 die Tafeln3871, wie7223 die erste Schrift4385 war, die zehn6235 Worte1697, die der HErr3068 zu euch redete1696 aus dem Feuer784 auf dem Berge2022, zur Zeit3117 der Versammlung6951; und der HErr3068 gab5414 sie mir.

5 Und ich wandte6437 mich und ging vom Berge2022; und legte3381 die Tafeln3871 in die Lade727, die ich gemacht hatte7760, daß sie6680 daselbst wären, wie mir der HErr3068 geboten hatte6213.

6 Und die Kinder1121 Israel3478 zogen5265 aus von Beroth-Bne-Jakan gen Moser4149. Daselbst starb4191 Aaron175 und ist daselbst begraben6912; und sein Sohn1121 Eleasar499 ward für ihn Priester3547.

7 Von dannen zogen5265 sie aus gen Gudegoda1412; von Gudegoda1412 gen Jathbath, ein Land776, da Bäche5158 sind.

8 Zur selben Zeit6256 sonderte914 der HErr3068 den Stamm7626 Levi3878 aus, die Lade727 des Bundes1285 des HErrn3068 zu tragen und zu stehen5975 vor6440 dem HErrn3068, ihm zu dienen8334 und seinen Namen8034 zu loben1288, bis auf5375 diesen Tag3117.

9 Darum sollen die Leviten3878, kein Teil2506 noch Erbe5159 haben mit ihren Brüdern251; denn der HErr3068 ist ihr Erbe5159, wie der HErr3068, dein GOtt430, ihnen geredet hat1696.

10 Ich aber stund auf5975 dem Berge2022, wie7223 vorhin, vierzig705 Tage3117 und3117 vierzig705 Nächte3915; und3068 der HErr3068 erhörete mich auch dasmal6471 und wollte14 dich nicht verderben7843.

11 Er sprach559 aber zu mir: Mache dich auf6440 und3068 gehe3212 hin4550, daß du vor dem Volk5971 her935 ziehest, daß sie einkommen und das Land776 einnehmen3423, das ich ihren Vätern1 geschworen7650 habe6965, ihnen zu geben5414.

12 Nun, Israel3478, was fordert7592 der HErr3068, dein GOtt430, von dir, denn daß du den HErrn3068, deinen GOtt430, fürchtest3372, daß du in allen1870 seinen Wegen wandelst3212 und liebest ihn157 und dienest5647 dem HErrn3068, deinem GOtt430, von ganzem Herzen3824 und von ganzer See LE5315,

13 daß du die Gebote4687 des HErrn3068 haltest8104 und seine Rechte2708, die ich dir heute3117 gebiete6680, auf daß dir‘s wohlgehe?

14 Siehe, Himmel8064 und aller Himmel8064 Himmel8064 und Erde776 und alles, was drinnen ist, das ist des HErrn3068, deines Gottes430.

15 Noch hat157 er allein zu deinen Vätern1 Lust2836 gehabt, daß er sie liebete, und3068 hat977 ihren Samen2233 erwählet nach ihnen, euch310, über alle Völker5971, wie es heutigestages3117 stehet.

16 So beschneidet4135 nun eures Herzens3824 Vorhaut6190 und seid7185 fürder nicht halsstarrig.

17 Denn der410 HErr3068, euer GOtt430, ist5375 ein GOtt430 aller Götter und HErr113 über alle6440 Herren113, ein großer1419 GOtt430, mächtig1368 und schrecklich3372, der keine Person achtet und kein Geschenk7810 nimmt3947

18 und6213 schaffet Recht4941 den Waisen3490 und Witwen490 und hat die Fremdlinge1616 lieb157, daß er ihnen Speise3899 und Kleider8071 gebe5414.

19 Darum sollt ihr auch die Fremdlinge1616 lieben157; denn ihr seid auch Fremdlinge1616 gewesen in Ägyptenland776.

20 Den Herrn3068, deinen GOtt430, sollst du fürchten3372, ihm sollst du dienen5647, ihm sollst du anhangen1692 und bei seinem Namen8034 schwören7650.

21 Er ist dein Ruhm8416 und dein GOtt430, der bei dir solche große1419 und schreckliche3372 Dinge getan6213 hat, die deine Augen5869 gesehen7200 haben.
