Глава 19

1 В те времена у Израиля не было царя. В отдалённой части горной страны Ефрема жил некий левит. У него была наложница из Вифлеема иудейского.

2 Но эта женщина поссорилась с левитом и ушла от него в дом своего отца в Вифлеем иудейский, и пробыла там четыре месяца.

3 Взяв с собой слугу и пару ослов, муж пошёл за ней, так как хотел поговорить с ней по-хорошему, чтобы она вернулась к нему. Отец женщины был счастлив, когда левит подошёл к его дому. Он вышел ему навстречу и приветствовал его.

4 Отец той женщины пригласил левита в свой дом и предложил ему остаться, и левит пробыл там три дня. Он ел, пил и спал в доме своего тестя.

5 На четвёртый день они встали рано утром, и левит готовился идти, но отец женщины сказал ему: «Поешь сначала, а потом отправишься в дорогу».

6 Левит остался и вместе со своим тестем ел и пил. После этого отец женщины сказал левиту: «Останься ещё на ночь, отдохни и повеселись».

7 Левит встал, чтобы уйти, но тесть уговорил его остаться ещё на одну ночь.

8 На пятый день левит встал рано утром, чтобы идти, но отец женщины сказал зятю: «Поешь сначала, отдохни и не уходи до полудня». И они снова ели и пили вместе.

9 Когда левит, его наложница и слуга встали, чтобы идти, отец женщины сказал: «Уже темнеет. День клонится к вечеру. Переночуй здесь и повеселись, а завтра утром встанете пораньше и пойдёте своей дорогой».

10 Но левит не согласился остаться ещё на одну ночь. Он взял своих ослов и наложницу и пошёл. И пришли они к городу Иевус. (Сейчас он называется Иерусалим).

11 Когда они подошли к городу, был уже почти вечер. Слуга сказал своему хозяину: «Давай зайдём в этот город иевусеев и переночуем там».

12 Но левит ответил: «Нет, мы не зайдём в чужой город, где люди родом не из сынов Израиля, а пойдём в Гиву».

13 Он сказал слуге: «Пойдём. Попытаемся дойти до Гивы или Рамы и переночуем в одном из этих городов».

14 И они пошли дальше. Солнце заходило, когда они подходили к Гиве Вениаминовой.

15 Они остановились в Гиве, чтобы переночевать в этом городе, пришли на городскую площадь и сели там. Но никто не пригласил их к себе в дом переночевать.

16 В этот вечер один старик возвращался в город с поля. Этот старик был родом из горной страны Ефрема, но сейчас жил в Гиве. Жители же Гивы были из рода Вениамина.

17 Старик увидел левита на городской площади и спросил: «Куда ты идёшь и откуда ты пришёл?»

18 Левит ответил: «Мы идём из Вифлеема иудейского в горную страну Ефрема, где я живу. Я был в Вифлееме иудейском, а теперь иду к себе домой. Но никто не пригласил нас переночевать.

19 У нас есть и солома, и корм для ослов, есть хлеб и вино для меня, для женщины и для моего слуги. Мы ни в чём не нуждаемся».

20 Старик сказал ему: «Добро пожаловать в мой дом. Я дам тебе всё, что тебе необходимо. Только не ночуй на городской площади!»

21 Тогда старик пригласил левита и тех, кто был с ним, к себе в дом и дал корм его ослам. Потом они омыли ноги и сели есть и пить.

22 Пока левит и люди, бывшие с ним, отдыхали и наслаждались, несколько развратных жителей города окружили дом. Они стучались в двери и кричали старику: «Выведи мужчину, который пришёл в дом твой. Мы хотим познать его».

23 Старик вышел к ним и сказал: «Нет, братья мои, не делайте зла! Этот человек — гость в моём доме. Не грешите так!

24 Смотрите, вот моя дочь-девственница и его наложница. Я выведу их к вам, и делайте с ними всё, что вам угодно. Только не совершайте такого страшного греха по отношению к этому человеку».

25 Но они не хотели слушать старика. Тогда левит взял свою наложницу и вытолкнул её на улицу к этим развратным людям, и они познали её. Они издевались над ней и насиловали её всю ночь, а на заре отпустили её.

26 Перед наступлением зари женщина вернулась к тому дому, где был её хозяин, упала у дверей и лежала там, пока не настал день.

27 Утром левит встал рано, чтобы идти домой. Он открыл двери, чтобы выйти, и увидел свою наложницу. Она лежала у дверей дома, а её руки лежали на пороге.

28 Левит сказал ей: «Вставай, пойдём!» Но она не ответила, она была мертва. Левит положил наложницу на своего осла и пошёл домой.

2 And his concubine6370 played the whore2181 against5921 him, and went3212 away from him to her father's1 house1004 to Bethlehemjudah,1035 and was there8033 four702 whole3117 months.2320

3 And her husband376 arose,6965 and went3212 after310 her, to speak1696 friendly3820 to her, and to bring7725 her again,7725 having his servant5288 with him, and a couple6776 of asses:2543 and she brought935 him into her father's1 house:1004 and when the father1 of the damsel5291 saw7200 him, he rejoiced8055 to meet7125 him.

4 And his father2859 in law,2859 the damsel's5291 father,1 retained2388 him; and he stayed3427 with him three7969 days:3117 so they did eat398 and drink,8354 and lodged3885 there.8033

5 And it came1961 to pass on the fourth7243 day,3117 when they arose7925 early7925 in the morning,1242 that he rose6965 up to depart:3212 and the damsel's5291 father1 said559 to his son2860 in law,2859 Comfort5582 your heart3820 with a morsel6595 of bread,3899 and afterward310 go3212 your way.

6 And they sat3427 down, and did eat398 and drink8354 both8147 of them together:3162 for the damsel's5291 father1 had said559 to the man,376 Be content,2974 I pray4994 you, and tarry3885 all3885 night, and let your heart3820 be merry.3190

7 And when the man376 rose6965 up to depart,3212 his father2859 in law2859 urged6484 him: therefore he lodged3885 there8033 again.7725

8 And he arose7925 early7925 in the morning1242 on the fifth2549 day3117 to depart;3212 and the damsel's5291 father1 said,559 Comfort5582 your heart,3824 I pray4994 you. And they tarried4102 until5704 afternoon,5186 3117 and they did eat398 both8147 of them.

9 And when the man376 rose6965 up to depart,3212 he, and his concubine,6370 and his servant,5288 his father2859 in law,2859 the damsel's5291 father,1 said559 to him, Behold,2009 now4994 the day3117 draws7503 toward evening,6150 I pray4994 you tarry3885 all3885 night: behold,2009 the day3117 grows2583 to an end,2583 lodge3885 here,6311 that your heart3824 may be merry;3190 and to morrow4279 get you early7925 on your way,1870 that you may go1980 home.168

10 But the man376 would14 not tarry3885 that night, but he rose6965 up and departed,3212 and came935 over5227 against5227 Jebus,2982 which1958 is Jerusalem;3389 and there were with him two6776 asses2543 saddled,2280 his concubine6370 also was with him.

11 And when they were by Jebus,2982 the day3117 was far3966 spent;7286 and the servant5288 said559 to his master,113 Come,3212 I pray4994 you, and let us turn5493 in into413 this2063 city5892 of the Jebusites,2983 and lodge3885 in it.

12 And his master113 said559 to him, We will not turn5493 aside here into413 the city5892 of a stranger,5237 that is not of the children1121 of Israel;3478 we will pass5674 over5674 to Gibeah.1390

13 And he said559 to his servant,5288 Come,3212 and let us draw near7126 to one259 of these places4725 to lodge3885 all3885 night, in Gibeah,1390 or176 in Ramah.7414

14 And they passed5674 on and went3212 their way;3212 and the sun8121 went935 down on them when they were by Gibeah,1390 which834 belongs to Benjamin.1144

15 And they turned5493 aside thither,8033 to go935 in and to lodge3885 in Gibeah:1390 and when he went935 in, he sat3427 him down in a street7339 of the city:5892 for there was no369 man376 that took622 them into his house1004 to lodging.3885

16 And, behold,2009 there came935 an old2205 man376 from his work4639 out of the field7704 at even,6153 which was also of mount2022 Ephraim;669 and he sojourned1481 in Gibeah:1390 but the men582 of the place4725 were Benjamites.1145

17 And when he had lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 he saw7200 a wayfaring732 man376 in the street7339 of the city:5892 and the old2205 man376 said,559 Where575 go3212 you? and from where370 come935 you?

18 And he said559 to him, We are passing5674 from Bethlehemjudah1035 toward5704 the side3411 of mount2022 Ephraim;669 from there8033 am I: and I went3212 to Bethlehemjudah,1035 but I am now going1980 to the house1004 of the LORD;3068 and there is no369 man376 that receives622 me to house.1004

19 Yet1571 there is both1571 straw8401 and provender4554 for our asses;2543 and there is bread3899 and wine3196 also1571 for me, and for your handmaid,519 and for the young5288 man which is with your servants:5650 there is no369 want4270 of any3605 thing.1697

20 And the old2205 man376 said,559 Peace7965 be with you; howsoever7535 let all3605 your wants4270 lie on me; only7535 lodge3885 not in the street.7339

21 So he brought935 him into his house,1004 and gave provender1101 to the asses:2543 and they washed7364 their feet,7272 and did eat398 and drink.8354

22 Now as they were making their hearts3820 merry,3190 behold,2009 the men582 of the city,5892 certain582 sons1121 of Belial,1100 beset5437 the house1004 round5437 about, and beat1849 at5921 the door,1817 and spoke559 to the master1167 of the house,1004 the old2205 man,376 saying,559 Bring3318 forth3318 the man376 that came935 into413 your house,1004 that we may know3045 him.

23 And the man,376 the master1167 of the house,1004 went3318 out to them, and said559 to them, No,408 my brothers,251 no, I pray4994 you, do not so wickedly;7489 seeing310 that this2088 man376 is come935 into413 my house,1004 do6213 not this2063 folly.5039

24 Behold,2009 here is my daughter1323 a maiden,1330 and his concubine;6370 them I will bring3318 out now,4994 and humble6031 you them, and do6213 with them what seems5869 good2896 to you: but to this2088 man376 do6213 not so2063 vile5039 a thing.1697

25 But the men582 would14 not listen8085 to him: so the man376 took2388 his concubine,6370 and brought3318 her forth3318 to them; and they knew3045 her, and abused5953 her all3605 the night3915 until5704 the morning:1242 and when the day7837 began to spring,5927 they let her go.7971

26 Then came935 the woman802 in the dawning6437 of the day,1242 and fell5307 down at the door6607 of the man's376 house1004 where834 8033 her lord113 was, till5704 it was light.216

27 And her lord113 rose6965 up in the morning,1242 and opened6605 the doors1817 of the house,1004 and went3318 out to go3212 his way:1870 and, behold,2009 the woman802 his concubine6370 was fallen5307 down at the door6607 of the house,1004 and her hands3027 were on the threshold.5592

28 And he said559 to her, Up, and let us be going.3212 But none369 answered.6030 Then the man376 took3947 her up on an ass,2543 and the man376 rose6965 up, and got3212 him to his place.4725

29 And when he was come935 into413 his house,1004 he took3947 a knife,3979 and laid hold2388 on his concubine,6370 and divided5408 her, together with her bones,6106 into twelve8147 6240 pieces,5409 and sent7971 her into all3605 the coasts1366 of Israel.3478

30 And it was so, that all3605 that saw7200 it said,559 There was no3808 such2063 deed done1961 nor3808 seen7200 from the day3117 that the children1121 of Israel3478 came5927 up out of the land776 of Egypt4714 to this2088 day:3117 consider7760 of it, take advice,5779 and speak1696 your minds.

2 Но эта женщина поссорилась с левитом и ушла от него в дом своего отца в Вифлеем иудейский, и пробыла там четыре месяца.

2 And his concubine6370 played the whore2181 against5921 him, and went3212 away from him to her father's1 house1004 to Bethlehemjudah,1035 and was there8033 four702 whole3117 months.2320

3 Взяв с собой слугу и пару ослов, муж пошёл за ней, так как хотел поговорить с ней по-хорошему, чтобы она вернулась к нему. Отец женщины был счастлив, когда левит подошёл к его дому. Он вышел ему навстречу и приветствовал его.

6 Левит остался и вместе со своим тестем ел и пил. После этого отец женщины сказал левиту: «Останься ещё на ночь, отдохни и повеселись».

10 Но левит не согласился остаться ещё на одну ночь. Он взял своих ослов и наложницу и пошёл. И пришли они к городу Иевус. (Сейчас он называется Иерусалим).

10 But the man376 would14 not tarry3885 that night, but he rose6965 up and departed,3212 and came935 over5227 against5227 Jebus,2982 which1958 is Jerusalem;3389 and there were with him two6776 asses2543 saddled,2280 his concubine6370 also was with him.

11 Когда они подошли к городу, был уже почти вечер. Слуга сказал своему хозяину: «Давай зайдём в этот город иевусеев и переночуем там».

11 And when they were by Jebus,2982 the day3117 was far3966 spent;7286 and the servant5288 said559 to his master,113 Come,3212 I pray4994 you, and let us turn5493 in into413 this2063 city5892 of the Jebusites,2983 and lodge3885 in it.

12 Но левит ответил: «Нет, мы не зайдём в чужой город, где люди родом не из сынов Израиля, а пойдём в Гиву».

12 And his master113 said559 to him, We will not turn5493 aside here into413 the city5892 of a stranger,5237 that is not of the children1121 of Israel;3478 we will pass5674 over5674 to Gibeah.1390

13 Он сказал слуге: «Пойдём. Попытаемся дойти до Гивы или Рамы и переночуем в одном из этих городов».

13 And he said559 to his servant,5288 Come,3212 and let us draw near7126 to one259 of these places4725 to lodge3885 all3885 night, in Gibeah,1390 or176 in Ramah.7414

14 И они пошли дальше. Солнце заходило, когда они подходили к Гиве Вениаминовой.

14 And they passed5674 on and went3212 their way;3212 and the sun8121 went935 down on them when they were by Gibeah,1390 which834 belongs to Benjamin.1144

15 Они остановились в Гиве, чтобы переночевать в этом городе, пришли на городскую площадь и сели там. Но никто не пригласил их к себе в дом переночевать.

15 And they turned5493 aside thither,8033 to go935 in and to lodge3885 in Gibeah:1390 and when he went935 in, he sat3427 him down in a street7339 of the city:5892 for there was no369 man376 that took622 them into his house1004 to lodging.3885

16 В этот вечер один старик возвращался в город с поля. Этот старик был родом из горной страны Ефрема, но сейчас жил в Гиве. Жители же Гивы были из рода Вениамина.

16 And, behold,2009 there came935 an old2205 man376 from his work4639 out of the field7704 at even,6153 which was also of mount2022 Ephraim;669 and he sojourned1481 in Gibeah:1390 but the men582 of the place4725 were Benjamites.1145

17 Старик увидел левита на городской площади и спросил: «Куда ты идёшь и откуда ты пришёл?»

17 And when he had lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 he saw7200 a wayfaring732 man376 in the street7339 of the city:5892 and the old2205 man376 said,559 Where575 go3212 you? and from where370 come935 you?

18 Левит ответил: «Мы идём из Вифлеема иудейского в горную страну Ефрема, где я живу. Я был в Вифлееме иудейском, а теперь иду к себе домой. Но никто не пригласил нас переночевать.

19 У нас есть и солома, и корм для ослов, есть хлеб и вино для меня, для женщины и для моего слуги. Мы ни в чём не нуждаемся».

23 Старик вышел к ним и сказал: «Нет, братья мои, не делайте зла! Этот человек — гость в моём доме. Не грешите так!
