Глава 43

1 Когда Иеремия возвестил народу все слова ГОСПОДА, Бога их, все те слова, что ГОСПОДЬ, Бог их, велел ему передать народу,

2 Азария, сын Хошаи, Иоханан, сын Кареаха, и другие надменные люди сказали в ответ Иеремии: «Ты лжешь, не посылал тебя ГОСПОДЬ, Бог наш, со словами: „Не ходите в Египет, чтобы быть пришлыми там“.

3 Это Барух, сын Нерии, подговаривает тебя против нас, желая предать нас в руки халдеев, чтобы те убили нас или увели в плен в Вавилон».

4 Ни Иоханан, сын Кареаха, ни военачальники, ни народ не послушались повеления ГОСПОДА не покидать Иудеи.

5 Но напротив, Иоханан, сын Кареаха, и все военачальники собрали тех немногих иудеев, что вернулись из мест изгнания, задумав поселиться в Иудее:

6 мужчин, женщин, детей, дочерей царских и всех тех людей, которых Невузарадан, начальник стражи, оставил с Гедальей, сыном Ахикама, внуком Шафана; взяли они с собой и пророка Иеремию, и Баруха, сына Нерии,

7 и, не повинуясь голосу ГОСПОДА, добрались до Египта и прибыли в Тахпанхес.

8 В Тахпанхесе было Иеремии слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

9 «Возьми большие камни и закопай их под глиняной площадкой перед дворцом фараона в Тахпанхесе на глазах у всего народа иудейского.

10 И скажи им: „Так говорит ГОСПОДЬ Воинств, Бог Израиля: „Я посылаю за Своим слугой Навуходоносором, царем вавилонским, приведу Я его сюда и поставлю престол его на этих камнях, которые Я здесь закопал, и он расстелет на них свой ковер.

11 Царь вавилонский придет и поразит Египет, и кто обречен на смерть, пойдет на смерть, кому предначертан плен, пойдет в плен, кому уготован меч, пойдет под меч.

12 Предам Я огню храмы богов египетских; царь сожжет их храмы, а изваяния их божеств захватит с собой как добычу; завернется он в землю египетскую, как пастух заворачивается в свои одежды, и выйдет оттуда невредим.

13 Разобьет он священные столбы в египетском храме Солнца и храмы богов египетских предаст огню“».

2 Then spoke559 Azariah5838 the son1121 of Hoshaiah,1955 and Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah,7143 and all3605 the proud2086 men,376 saying559 unto413 Jeremiah,3414 Thou859 speakest1696 falsely:8267 the LORD3068 our God430 hath not3808 sent7971 thee to say,559 Go935 not3808 into Egypt4714 to sojourn1481 there: 8033

3 But3588 Baruch1263 the son1121 of Neriah5374 setteth thee on5496 853 against us, for4616 to deliver5414 us into the hand3027 of the Chaldeans,3778 that they might put us to death,4191 853 and carry us away captives1540 853 into Babylon.894

4 So Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah,7143 and all3605 the captains8269 of the forces,2428 and all3605 the people,5971 obeyed8085 not3808 the voice6963 of the LORD,3068 to dwell3427 in the land776 of Judah.3063

5 But Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah,7143 and all3605 the captains8269 of the forces,2428 took3947 853 all3605 the remnant7611 of Judah,3063 that834 were returned7725 from all4480 3605 nations,1471 whither834 8033 they had been driven,5080 to dwell1481 in the land776 of Judah;3063

6 Even853 men,1397 and women,802 and children,2945 and the king's4428 daughters,1323 and every3605 person5315 that834 Nebuzaradan5018 the captain7227 of the guard2876 had left5117 with854 Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 the son1121 of Shaphan,8227 and Jeremiah3414 the prophet,5030 and Baruch1263 the son1121 of Neriah.5374

7 So they came into935 the land776 of Egypt:4714 for3588 they obeyed8085 not3808 the voice6963 of the LORD:3068 thus came935 they even to5704 Tahpanhes.8471

8 Then came1961 the word1697 of the LORD3068 unto413 Jeremiah3414 in Tahpanhes,8471 saying,559

9 Take3947 great1419 stones68 in thine hand,3027 and hide2934 them in the clay4423 in the brickkiln,4404 which834 is at the entry6607 of Pharaoh's6547 house1004 in Tahpanhes,8471 in the sight5869 of the men376 of Judah;3064

10 And say559 unto413 them, Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 the God430 of Israel;3478 Behold,2009 I will send7971 and take3947 853 Nebuchadnezzar5019 the king4428 of Babylon,894 my servant,5650 and will set7760 his throne3678 upon4480 4605 these428 stones68 that834 I have hid;2934 and he shall spread5186 853 his royal pavilion8237 over5921 them.

11 And when he cometh,935 he shall smite5221 853 the land776 of Egypt,4714 and deliver such834 as are for death4194 to death;4194 and such834 as are for captivity7628 to captivity;7628 and such834 as are for the sword2719 to the sword.2719

12 And I will kindle3341 a fire784 in the houses1004 of the gods430 of Egypt;4714 and he shall burn8313 them, and carry them away captives:7617 and he shall array himself5844 with854 the land776 of Egypt,4714 as834 a shepherd7462 putteth on5844 853 his garment;899 and he shall go forth3318 from thence4480 8033 in peace.7965

13 He shall break7665 also853 the images4676 of Beth-shemesh,1053 that834 is in the land776 of Egypt;4714 and the houses1004 of the gods430 of the Egyptians4714 shall he burn8313 with fire.784

12 And I will kindle3341 a fire784 in the houses1004 of the gods430 of Egypt;4714 and he shall burn8313 them, and carry them away captives:7617 and he shall array himself5844 with854 the land776 of Egypt,4714 as834 a shepherd7462 putteth on5844 853 his garment;899 and he shall go forth3318 from thence4480 8033 in peace.7965
