1 THEREFORE, we should give earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time they be lost. |
|
2 For if the word spoken by the angels has been affirmed, and every one who has heard it and transgressed it has received a just reward, |
|
3 How shall we escape, if we neglect the very things which are our salvation and which were first spoken by our LORD, and were proved to us by those who had heard him, |
|
4 And to which God testified with signs and wonders and with divers miracles, and with the gift of the Holy Spirit, given according to his will. |
|
5 For he has not put into subjection to the angels the world to come, whereof we speak. |
|
6 But as the scripture testifies, saying, What is man that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? |
|
7 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels: and have crowned him with glory and honor, and have set him ruler over the works of thy hands: |
|
8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. By putting all things under his control, he left nothing that he did not put under subjection to him. But now we do not see yet that all things are in subjection to him. |
|
9 We see that he is Jesus who humbled himself to be a little lower than the angels, through his suffering and his death, but now he is crowned with glory and honor; for he tasted death for the sake of every one but God. |
|
10 And it was meet and proper for him, in whose hand is everything and for whom are all things, to bring many sons to glory, so that from the very beginning of their salvation, they are made perfect through sufferings. |
|
11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of one origin: for this reason he is not ashamed to call them brethren, |
|
12 Saying, I will declare thy name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. |
|
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold me and the children which God has given me. |
|
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also likewise partook of the same; and by his death he has destroyed him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. |
|
15 And has released them who, through fear of death all their lives, were subject to slavery. |
|
16 For he did not take on him the pattern of angels; but he did take on him the seed of Abraham. |
|
17 Therefore it was meet and proper that in every thing he should resemble his brethren, that he might be a merciful, and faithful high priest in the things of God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. |
|
18 For in that he himself has suffered, being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted. |

2 Коли бо те слово, що сказали його анголи́, було певне, а всякий пере́ступ та непо́слух прийняли́ справедливу заплату, |
|
3 то як ми втечемо́, коли ми не дбали про таке велике спасі́ння? Воно проповідувалося споча́тку від Го́спода, стве́рдилося нам через тих, хто почув, |
|
4 коли Бог був засві́дчив озна́ками й чу́дами, і різними силами та обдарува́нням Духом Святим із волі Своє́ї. |
|
5 Бо Він не піддав ангола́м світ майбутній, що про нього говоримо. |
|
6 Але хтось десь засві́дчив був, кажучи: „Що́ є чолові́к, що Ти пам'ята́єш про ньо́го, і син лю́дський, якого відвідуєш? |
|
7 Ти його вчинив мало меншим від анголів, і честю й вели́чністю Ти вінчаєш його, і поставив його́ над діла́ми рук Своїх, |
|
8 усе піддав Ти під ноги йому́“! А коли Він піддав йому все, то не залиши́в нічого йому непідда́ного. А тепер ще не бачимо, щоб підда́не було йому все. |
|
9 Але бачимо Ісуса, мало чим уменшеним від анголі́в, що за перете́рплення смерти Він уві́нчаний честю й вели́чністю, щоб за благода́ттю Божою смерть скуштува́ти за всіх. |
|
10 Бо належало, щоб Той, що все ради Нього й усе від Нього, Хто до слави привів багато синів, Провідника їхнього спасі́ння вчинив досконалим через стражда́ння. |
|
11 Бо Хто освячує, і ті, хто освя́чується — усі від Одно́го. З цієї причини не соромиться Він звати братами їх, кажучи: |
|
12 „Сповіщу́ про Ім'я́ Твоє бра́ттям Своїм, буду хвалити Тебе серед Церкви“! |
|
13 І ще: „На Нього я бу́ду надіятися“! І ще: „Ото Я та діти, яких Бог Мені дав“. |
|
14 А що ді́ти стали спільниками тіла та крови, то й Він став уча́сником їхнім, щоб смертю знищити того, хто має вла́ду смерти, цебто диявола, |
|
15 та визволити тих усіх, хто все життя стра́хом смерти тримався в неволі. |
|
16 Бо приймає Він не Анголі́в, але Авраамове насіння. |
|
17 Тому́ мусів бути Він у всьому подібний брата́м, щоб стати милости́вим та вірним Первосвящеником у Божих справах, для вблага́ння за гріхи людей. |
|
18 Бо в чо́му був Сам постраждав, ви́пробовуваний, у тому Він може й випробо́вуваним помогти. |

2 Коли бо те слово, що сказали його анголи́, було певне, а всякий пере́ступ та непо́слух прийняли́ справедливу заплату, |
|

3 то як ми втечемо́, коли ми не дбали про таке велике спасі́ння? Воно проповідувалося споча́тку від Го́спода, стве́рдилося нам через тих, хто почув, |

7 Ти його вчинив мало меншим від анголів, і честю й вели́чністю Ти вінчаєш його, і поставив його́ над діла́ми рук Своїх, |

8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. By putting all things under his control, he left nothing that he did not put under subjection to him. But now we do not see yet that all things are in subjection to him. |
8 усе піддав Ти під ноги йому́“! А коли Він піддав йому все, то не залиши́в нічого йому непідда́ного. А тепер ще не бачимо, щоб підда́не було йому все. |
|
9 We see that he is Jesus who humbled himself to be a little lower than the angels, through his suffering and his death, but now he is crowned with glory and honor; for he tasted death for the sake of every one but God. |
9 Але бачимо Ісуса, мало чим уменшеним від анголі́в, що за перете́рплення смерти Він уві́нчаний честю й вели́чністю, щоб за благода́ттю Божою смерть скуштува́ти за всіх. |

10 And it was meet and proper for him, in whose hand is everything and for whom are all things, to bring many sons to glory, so that from the very beginning of their salvation, they are made perfect through sufferings. |
10 Бо належало, щоб Той, що все ради Нього й усе від Нього, Хто до слави привів багато синів, Провідника їхнього спасі́ння вчинив досконалим через стражда́ння. |

11 Бо Хто освячує, і ті, хто освя́чується — усі від Одно́го. З цієї причини не соромиться Він звати братами їх, кажучи: |

12 Saying, I will declare thy name to my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. |
12 „Сповіщу́ про Ім'я́ Твоє бра́ттям Своїм, буду хвалити Тебе серед Церкви“! |
|

13 І ще: „На Нього я бу́ду надіятися“! І ще: „Ото Я та діти, яких Бог Мені дав“. |

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also likewise partook of the same; and by his death he has destroyed him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. |
14 А що ді́ти стали спільниками тіла та крови, то й Він став уча́сником їхнім, щоб смертю знищити того, хто має вла́ду смерти, цебто диявола, |
