Chapter 33

1 MOREOVER, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the second time, while he was yet shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

2 Thus says the LORD who made you and formed you and established you: the LORD is his name:

3 Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not.

4 For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which the robbers have uprooted by the sword:

5 They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill the streets with the dead bodies of men whom I have slain in my anger and in my wrath; for I have turned my face from this city because of the evil which they did before me.

6 Behold, I will bring to it a long period of healing, and I will heal them and will reveal to them the paths of peace and truth.

7 And I will bring back the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel, and I will build them as at first.

8 And I will cleanse them from their iniquity whereby they have committed evil against me; and I will pardon all their trespasses whereby they have sinned against me, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

9 And Israel shall be to me for a name and for a delight, and for rejoicing and for glory before all the nations of the earth, who shall hear of all the good that I do to them; and they shall fear and be angry because of all the goodness and all the peace that I bring to them.

10 Thus says the LORD: Again there shall be heard in this country which you say is a waste without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, which are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast,

11 The voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say, Praise the LORD of hosts; for the LORD is good and pleasant, and his mercy endures for ever; even of those who bring a sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will bring back the captivity of the land, as at the first, says the LORD of hosts.

12 Thus says the LORD of hosts: From henceforth in this place which is waste, without men and without beast, and in all its cities there shall be habitations of shepherds and folds of the flocks.

13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the plain and in the cities of the south and in the land of Benjamin and in the places about Jerusalem and in the cities of Judah, flocks shall again pass under the hands of those who count them, says the LORD.

14 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will perform the good things which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and concerning the house of Judah, says the LORD.

15 In those days and at that time I will cause an heir of righteousness to rise up to David; and he shall rule over the kingdom and shall have understanding and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

16 In those days Judah shall be saved and Jerusalem shall dwell safely; and this is the name by which they shall call him: The LORD our righteousness.

17 For thus says the LORD, David shall never lack an heir to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

18 Neither shall the priests and the Levites lack a man before me to offer burnt offerings and to burn meat offerings and to do sacrifice and to burn incense continually.

19 And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

20 Thus says the LORD: if they can break my ordinances of the day, and my ordinances of the night, so that there should not be day and night in their appointed time;

21 Then may also my covenant which I made with David my servant be broken, so that he should not have an heir to reign upon his throne; and my covenant with the priests and the Levites, my ministers.

22 As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured; so will I multiply the descendants of David my servant and of the Levites who minister to me.

23 Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

24 Have you not considered what this people are saying, The two families which the LORD has chosen, he has rejected? Thus they have provoked my people to anger, that they should be no more a nation before me.

25 Thus says the LORD: If my covenant be not in effect with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

26 Then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and of David my servant so that I will not take any of his descendants to be rulers over the house of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; for I will bring them back from their exile and will have mercy upon them.

1 Весть от Господа пришла к Иеремии ещё раз, когда он был в темнице царского дворца.

2 Господь сотворил землю и заботится о её безопасности. Имя Того, Кто создал землю, — Господь. Он говорит:

3 «Иудея, молись Мне, и Я отвечу тебе. Я открою тебе тайну, которую ты не знала раньше.

4 Господь, Бог Израиля, говорит о домах в Иерусалиме и о царских дворцах Иудеи: „Враг разрушит эти дома и дворцы и поставит валы у городских стен. Враг мечом покорит эти города.

5 Жители Иерусалима творят множество беззаконий, поэтому Я разгневан. Я отвернулся от них и многих из них Я лишу жизни. Вавилонская армия придёт воевать с Иерусалимом, и в иерусалимских домах погибнут многие.

6 Но затем Я излечу этих людей и позволю им наслаждаться покоем и миром.

7 Я снова принесу добро Израилю и Иудее, Я сделаю эти народы сильными, как прежде.

8 Они грешили против Меня, но Я смою эти грехи. Они восставали против Меня, но Я их прощу.

9 Иерусалим снова будет прекрасным и счастливым городом, и другие народы будут его восхвалять. Это произойдёт, когда все люди узнают о тех благах, которые будут в Иерусалиме. Они увидят всё то, что Я делаю для Иерусалима.

10 Вы говорите, что ваша страна — бесплодная пустыня, где нет ни животных, ни людей, и тихо теперь на улицах Иерусалима и во всех городах Иудеи. Но скоро там будет шумно:

11 опять будут слышны звуки радости и счастья, счастливые голоса женихов и невест, голоса людей, несущих дары в храм Господа. Эти люди скажут: „Прославляйте Господа Всемогущего, потому что любовь Его вечна!” Так скажут люди, потому что Я снова принесу добро народу Иудеи. Я сделаю их такими, какими они были прежде”».

12 Господь Всемогущий говорит: «Эта земля опустела, нет там ни людей, ни животных, но народы заселят города Иудеи, и пастухи приведут свои стада на мирные пастбища, чтобы отдохнуть.

13 Пастухи будут пересчитывать овец, когда те будут идти перед ними, и весь народ будет повсюду считать овец: и в холмистой местности, и в западных предгорьях, и в Негеве, и во всех других городах». Праведная «Отрасль»

14 Вот весть от Господа: «Я дал обещание народам Израиля и Иудеи, и вот приходит время Мне его исполнить.

15 Настанет время, и Я выращу праведную „Отрасль” из семьи Давида, которая принесёт всей стране праведность и добро.

16 В те времена спасутся люди Иудеи и будет мирно жить Иерусалим. „Господь — Праведность Наша” — таково имя этой Отрасли».

17 Господь говорит: «Потомок из рода Давида будет всегда сидеть на троне и управлять семьёй Израиля.

18 И всегда священники из рода Левия, которые будут стоять передо Мной, будут подносить жертвы всесожжения и хлебное приношение».

19 И пришла к Иеремии весть от Господа.

20 Господь сказал: «Есть у Меня соглашение с днём и ночью, чтобы конца им не было вовеки, и этот договор тебе не изменить. День и ночь всегда будут наступать в своё время! Если бы ты смог изменить это,

21 то тогда бы ты смог изменить Моё соглашение с Давидом и левитами, и потомки Давида не были бы царями, и потомки Левия не были бы священниками.

22 Но Я дам большое потомство слуге Моему Давиду и роду Левия. Их будет столько, сколько звёзд в небе, которые не счесть; столько, сколько песка морского, который неизмерим».

23 Иеремия услышал такую весть от Господа:

24 «Иеремия, слышал ли ты, как люди говорят о том, что Господь отвернулся от двух народов: от Израиля и Иудеи. Они говорят, что Господь избрал этих людей, но сейчас Он даже не считает их народом».

25 Господь сказал: «Если бы Мои заветы о дне и о ночи не продолжились и Я бы не сотворил законы для неба и для земли, тогда, возможно, Я бы покинул этих людей.

26 Тогда Я отвернулся бы от потомков Иакова и не позволил бы потомкам Давида править потомками Авраама, Исаака и Иакова. Я буду милосерден к этому народу и вновь их благами Своими одарю».

2 Thus says the LORD who made you and formed you and established you: the LORD is his name:

2 Господь сотворил землю и заботится о её безопасности. Имя Того, Кто создал землю, — Господь. Он говорит:

3 Call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not.

3 «Иудея, молись Мне, и Я отвечу тебе. Я открою тебе тайну, которую ты не знала раньше.

4 For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which the robbers have uprooted by the sword:

4 Господь, Бог Израиля, говорит о домах в Иерусалиме и о царских дворцах Иудеи: „Враг разрушит эти дома и дворцы и поставит валы у городских стен. Враг мечом покорит эти города.

6 Но затем Я излечу этих людей и позволю им наслаждаться покоем и миром.

7 And I will bring back the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel, and I will build them as at first.

7 Я снова принесу добро Израилю и Иудее, Я сделаю эти народы сильными, как прежде.

8 And I will cleanse them from their iniquity whereby they have committed evil against me; and I will pardon all their trespasses whereby they have sinned against me, and whereby they have transgressed against me.

8 Они грешили против Меня, но Я смою эти грехи. Они восставали против Меня, но Я их прощу.

9 Иерусалим снова будет прекрасным и счастливым городом, и другие народы будут его восхвалять. Это произойдёт, когда все люди узнают о тех благах, которые будут в Иерусалиме. Они увидят всё то, что Я делаю для Иерусалима.

10 Thus says the LORD: Again there shall be heard in this country which you say is a waste without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, which are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast,

10 Вы говорите, что ваша страна — бесплодная пустыня, где нет ни животных, ни людей, и тихо теперь на улицах Иерусалима и во всех городах Иудеи. Но скоро там будет шумно:

11 The voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who say, Praise the LORD of hosts; for the LORD is good and pleasant, and his mercy endures for ever; even of those who bring a sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will bring back the captivity of the land, as at the first, says the LORD of hosts.

11 опять будут слышны звуки радости и счастья, счастливые голоса женихов и невест, голоса людей, несущих дары в храм Господа. Эти люди скажут: „Прославляйте Господа Всемогущего, потому что любовь Его вечна!” Так скажут люди, потому что Я снова принесу добро народу Иудеи. Я сделаю их такими, какими они были прежде”».

12 Thus says the LORD of hosts: From henceforth in this place which is waste, without men and without beast, and in all its cities there shall be habitations of shepherds and folds of the flocks.

12 Господь Всемогущий говорит: «Эта земля опустела, нет там ни людей, ни животных, но народы заселят города Иудеи, и пастухи приведут свои стада на мирные пастбища, чтобы отдохнуть.

13 In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the plain and in the cities of the south and in the land of Benjamin and in the places about Jerusalem and in the cities of Judah, flocks shall again pass under the hands of those who count them, says the LORD.

13 Пастухи будут пересчитывать овец, когда те будут идти перед ними, и весь народ будет повсюду считать овец: и в холмистой местности, и в западных предгорьях, и в Негеве, и во всех других городах». Праведная «Отрасль»

14 Вот весть от Господа: «Я дал обещание народам Израиля и Иудеи, и вот приходит время Мне его исполнить.

15 Настанет время, и Я выращу праведную „Отрасль” из семьи Давида, которая принесёт всей стране праведность и добро.

16 В те времена спасутся люди Иудеи и будет мирно жить Иерусалим. „Господь — Праведность Наша” — таково имя этой Отрасли».

17 Господь говорит: «Потомок из рода Давида будет всегда сидеть на троне и управлять семьёй Израиля.

18 И всегда священники из рода Левия, которые будут стоять передо Мной, будут подносить жертвы всесожжения и хлебное приношение».

19 And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

19 И пришла к Иеремии весть от Господа.

20 Thus says the LORD: if they can break my ordinances of the day, and my ordinances of the night, so that there should not be day and night in their appointed time;

20 Господь сказал: «Есть у Меня соглашение с днём и ночью, чтобы конца им не было вовеки, и этот договор тебе не изменить. День и ночь всегда будут наступать в своё время! Если бы ты смог изменить это,

21 то тогда бы ты смог изменить Моё соглашение с Давидом и левитами, и потомки Давида не были бы царями, и потомки Левия не были бы священниками.
