Ephesians

Chapter 5

1 BE therefore God-like, as beloved chil dren.

2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet example.

3 But let not immorality or any uncleanness or covetousness be heard of among you, as becomes saints;

4 Neither cursing, nor foolish words, nor insults, nor words of flattery, none of which are necessary: but instead of these, let thanks be offered.

5 You should know this: that no one guilty of fornication, or unclean person, or covetous man who serves idols, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things the anger of God comes on the children of disobedience.

7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.

8 For previously you were ignorant, but now you have been enlightened by our LORD, and should live therefore like children of light.

9 For the fruits of light are found in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth;

10 And so you must discern that which is acceptable before our LORD.

11 Have no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather condemn them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things that are done by them in secret.

13 For all things that are condemned are exposed by the light: and anything that is made manifest is light.

14 Therefore it is said: Awake thou that sleepest, and rise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 Watch therefore, that you live a glorious life, not as foolish men, but as wise men,

16 Who take advantage of their opportunity, for these are difficult days.

17 Wherefore do not lack wisdom, but understand what the will of God is.

18 And do not become drunk with wine, wherein is intemperance; but be filled with the Spirit,

19 Speaking to your souls in psalms and hymns, and in spiritual songs, sing with your heart to the LORD;

20 Giving thanks always for all men to God the Father in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ.

21 Submit yourselves one to another in the love of Christ.

22 Wives submit yourselves to your husbands as to our LORD.

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of its body.

24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved his church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it, by the washing of water and by the word,

27 In order to build for himself a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 So should men love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own body; but nourishes it and cherishes it, even as Christ does for his church.

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 For this reason shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and his church.

33 Nevertheless, let every one of you so love his wife as himself, and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Глава 5

1 Итак будьте подражателями Богу, как дети возлюбленные,

2 и ходите в любви, как и Христос возлюбил вас и предал Себя за нас, как приношение и жертву Богу, в запах благоухания.

3 Блуд же и всякая нечистота или любостяжание пусть и не именуются среди вас, как подобает святым,

4 также сквернословие и пустословие или смехотворство, что не прилично, но лучше благодарение.

5 Ибо то знайте, что ни один блудник, или нечистый, или любостяжатель — то есть идолослужитель — не имеет наследия в царстве Христа и Бога.

6 Пусть никто вас не обманывает пустыми словами, ибо за это приходит гнев Божий на сынов противления.

7 Не становитесь же сообщниками их.

8 Ибо вы были некогда тьма, а теперь свет в Господе: поступайте как дети света, —

9 ибо плод света во всякой доброте, и праведности, и истине, —

10 испытывая, что благоугодно Господу,

11 и не участвуйте в бесплодных делах тьмы, но еще лучше и обличайте:

12 ибо о том, что делается ими тайно, стыдно и говорить,

13 но всё это, будучи обличаемо, является в свете,

14 ибо всё являемое есть свет. Потому сказано: Вставай, спящий, и воскресни из мёртвых, и будет светить тебе Христос.

15 Итак смотрите внимательно, как вы ходите, не как немудрые, но как мудрые,

16 дорожа временем, потому что дни лукавы.

17 Поэтому не будьте неразумными, но постигайте, что есть воля Господа.

18 И не упивайтесь вином, от которого распутство, но будьте исполнены Духа,

19 назидая друг друга псалмами и славословиями и песнями духовными, поя и воспевая в сердцах ваших Господу,

20 благодаря всегда за всё Бога и Отца во имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

21 подчиняясь друг другу в страхе Христовом.

22 Жёны да подчиняются своим мужьям, как Господу,

23 потому что муж есть глава жены, как и Христос глава Церкви, Он Спаситель тела.

24 Но, как Церковь подчиняется Христу, так и жёны своим мужьям во всём.

25 Мужья, любите жён своих, как и Христос возлюбил Церковь и предал Себя за неё,

26 чтобы освятить её, очистив омовением в воде посредством слова,

27 чтобы Ему поставить пред Собою Церковь во славе, не имеющей ни пятна, ни порока, ни чего-либо подобного, но чтобы она была свята и непорочна.

28 Так должны и мужья любить своих жен, как свои тела. Любящий свою жену себя самого любит.

29 Ибо никто никогда не имеет ненависти к своей плоти, но питает и греет её, как и Христос Церковь,

30 потому что мы члены Тела Его.

31 Поэтому оставит человек отца и мать и прилепится к жене своей, и будут двое плотью единою.

32 Тайна эта велика, говорю же я применительно ко Христу и к Церкви.

33 Что же касается вас, пусть каждый любит свою жену, как самого себя, а жена да боится мужа.

6 Пусть никто вас не обманывает пустыми словами, ибо за это приходит гнев Божий на сынов противления.

7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.

11 Have no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather condemn them.

11 и не участвуйте в бесплодных делах тьмы, но еще лучше и обличайте:

12 For it is a shame even to speak of the things that are done by them in secret.

12 ибо о том, что делается ими тайно, стыдно и говорить,

13 For all things that are condemned are exposed by the light: and anything that is made manifest is light.

13 но всё это, будучи обличаемо, является в свете,

14 Therefore it is said: Awake thou that sleepest, and rise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

14 ибо всё являемое есть свет. Потому сказано: Вставай, спящий, и воскресни из мёртвых, и будет светить тебе Христос.

15 Watch therefore, that you live a glorious life, not as foolish men, but as wise men,

15 Итак смотрите внимательно, как вы ходите, не как немудрые, но как мудрые,

16 Who take advantage of their opportunity, for these are difficult days.

16 дорожа временем, потому что дни лукавы.

17 Wherefore do not lack wisdom, but understand what the will of God is.

17 Поэтому не будьте неразумными, но постигайте, что есть воля Господа.

18 And do not become drunk with wine, wherein is intemperance; but be filled with the Spirit,

18 И не упивайтесь вином, от которого распутство, но будьте исполнены Духа,

19 Speaking to your souls in psalms and hymns, and in spiritual songs, sing with your heart to the LORD;

19 назидая друг друга псалмами и славословиями и песнями духовными, поя и воспевая в сердцах ваших Господу,

20 Giving thanks always for all men to God the Father in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ.

20 благодаря всегда за всё Бога и Отца во имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

21 Submit yourselves one to another in the love of Christ.

21 подчиняясь друг другу в страхе Христовом.

22 Wives submit yourselves to your husbands as to our LORD.

22 Жёны да подчиняются своим мужьям, как Господу,

23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of its body.

23 потому что муж есть глава жены, как и Христос глава Церкви, Он Спаситель тела.

24 Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

24 Но, как Церковь подчиняется Христу, так и жёны своим мужьям во всём.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved his church, and gave himself for it;

25 Мужья, любите жён своих, как и Христос возлюбил Церковь и предал Себя за неё,

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it, by the washing of water and by the word,

26 чтобы освятить её, очистив омовением в воде посредством слова,

27 In order to build for himself a glorious church, without stain or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

27 чтобы Ему поставить пред Собою Церковь во славе, не имеющей ни пятна, ни порока, ни чего-либо подобного, но чтобы она была свята и непорочна.

28 So should men love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

28 Так должны и мужья любить своих жен, как свои тела. Любящий свою жену себя самого любит.

29 For no man ever yet hated his own body; but nourishes it and cherishes it, even as Christ does for his church.

29 Ибо никто никогда не имеет ненависти к своей плоти, но питает и греет её, как и Христос Церковь,

30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

30 потому что мы члены Тела Его.

31 Поэтому оставит человек отца и мать и прилепится к жене своей, и будут двое плотью единою.
