Глава 23

1 Господь даровал Израилю мир и безопасность от врагов, которые жили вокруг них. Прошло много лет, и Иисус состарился.

2 Он созвал всех старейшин Израиля, главенствующих над коленами, судей и начальников народа Израиля и сказал им: «Я состарился.

3 Вы видели всё, что Господь сделал вашим врагам, чтобы помочь нам. Господь, Бог ваш, сражался за вас.

4 Помните мои слова о том, что народ ваш будет иметь землю между Иорданом и Средиземным морем на западе. Я обещал отдать эту землю в ваше владение, но она ещё не подвластна вам. Я забрал эту землю у народов, живущих на ней, но ещё не изгнал их прочь.

5 А Господь, Бог ваш, Сам заставит живущий там народ покинуть её, и вы возьмёте ту землю. Господь заставит тех людей уйти! Господь, Бог ваш, обещал сделать это для вас.

6 Вы должны точно исполнять всё, что велит вам Господь. Исполняйте всё, что написано в книге Закона Моисея, и не уклоняйтесь от него.

7 Среди нас всё ещё живут люди, которые не являются народом Израиля. Эти люди поклоняются своим собственным богам. Не заводите дружбу с этими народами и не служите их богам.

8 Вы должны продолжать идти за Господом, Богом вашим. Поступайте и впредь так, как делали это до сего дня.

9 Господь помог вам разгромить многие великие и сильные народы. Господь заставил эти народы уйти, и ни один из них не смог победить вас.

10 С помощью Господа один израильтянин мог победить тысячу вражеских воинов, потому что Господь, Бог ваш, Сам сражается за вас, как обещал вам.

11 Поэтому любите Господа, Бога вашего.

12 Следуйте за Господом. Не заводите дружбы с теми, кто не принадлежит народу Израиля. Не вступайте в брак ни с кем из них. Но если вы всё-таки подружитесь с этими людьми,

13 то знайте, что Господь, Бог ваш, не поможет вам одолеть ваших врагов. Эти люди станут для вас ловушкой и принесут вам боль, подобную дыму и пыли, которые попадают в глаза, и вы будете вынуждены уйти из этой благодатной земли. Господь, Бог ваш, дал вам её, но вы потеряете эту землю, если не будете исполнять Его волю.

14 Пришло время мне умереть. Вы знаете и верите, что Господь свершил много великих дел для вас и никогда не нарушил ни одного из Своих обещаний. Господь исполнил каждое обещание, которое дал нам.

15 Все добрые обещания, которые Господь дал нам, сбылись. Но Господь сдержит и другое Своё обещание. Он обещал, что, если вы будете поступать неправильно, с вами случатся несчастья. Он обещал, что прогонит вас с этой доброй земли, которую Он дал вам,

16 если вы откажетесь выполнять своё соглашение с Господом, Богом вашим. Вы потеряете эту землю, если пойдёте и станете служить другим богам. Господь сильно разгневается на вас, и тогда Он позволит другим народам изгнать вас из той благодатной земли, которую Он отдал вам».

Joshua

Chapter 23

1 AND it came to pass after a long time, when the LORD had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua was old, and well advanced in years.

2 And Joshua summoned all Israel, their elders, their heads, their judges, and their scribes, and said to them, I am old and well advanced in years;

3 And you have seen all that the LORD your God has done to all these nations, which he destroyed from before you; for it is the LORD your God who has fought for you.

4 Behold, I have not divided to you the land of these nations that remain, in the inheritance of your tribes; but from the Jordan, all the nations that I have destroyed, even to the Great Sea westward, have I divided among you.

5 The LORD your God will defeat them, and destroy them from before you; and you shall possess their land, as the LORD your God has promised you.

6 Only be strong to keep and do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, the servant of God, and not turn aside from it, neither to the right hand nor to the left;

7 And you shall not mix with these nations that remain among you; neither make mention of the names of their gods, nor swear by them, neither serve them, nor worship them;

8 But cleave to the LORD your God, as you have done even to this day.

9 For the LORD has destroyed from before you great and strong nations; and no man has been able to stand against you to this day.

10 One man of you shall chase a thousand; for the LORD your God is with you, he it is who fights for you, as he has promised you.

11 Take good heed therefore to yourselves, to revere the LORD your God.

12 For if you ever turn back and join the remnant of these nations that remain among you and make marriages with them and mix with them and they with you;

13 Then know for sure that the LORD your God will no more destroy these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps to you, and spears in your sides and fishhooks in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.

14 And as for me, I am now going the way of all the earth; and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good promises which the LORD your God spoke concerning you; all have come to pass to you, and not one thing has failed.

15 Therefore, just as all the good things have come upon you which the LORD your God promised, so shall come upon you all the curses, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you;

16 If you should transgress against the covenant of the LORD your God and against the commandments which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and worship them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and you shall perish quickly from off the good land which he has given you.

1 Господь даровал Израилю мир и безопасность от врагов, которые жили вокруг них. Прошло много лет, и Иисус состарился.

1 AND it came to pass after a long time, when the LORD had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua was old, and well advanced in years.

2 Он созвал всех старейшин Израиля, главенствующих над коленами, судей и начальников народа Израиля и сказал им: «Я состарился.

2 And Joshua summoned all Israel, their elders, their heads, their judges, and their scribes, and said to them, I am old and well advanced in years;

3 Вы видели всё, что Господь сделал вашим врагам, чтобы помочь нам. Господь, Бог ваш, сражался за вас.

3 And you have seen all that the LORD your God has done to all these nations, which he destroyed from before you; for it is the LORD your God who has fought for you.

4 Помните мои слова о том, что народ ваш будет иметь землю между Иорданом и Средиземным морем на западе. Я обещал отдать эту землю в ваше владение, но она ещё не подвластна вам. Я забрал эту землю у народов, живущих на ней, но ещё не изгнал их прочь.

4 Behold, I have not divided to you the land of these nations that remain, in the inheritance of your tribes; but from the Jordan, all the nations that I have destroyed, even to the Great Sea westward, have I divided among you.

5 А Господь, Бог ваш, Сам заставит живущий там народ покинуть её, и вы возьмёте ту землю. Господь заставит тех людей уйти! Господь, Бог ваш, обещал сделать это для вас.

5 The LORD your God will defeat them, and destroy them from before you; and you shall possess their land, as the LORD your God has promised you.

6 Вы должны точно исполнять всё, что велит вам Господь. Исполняйте всё, что написано в книге Закона Моисея, и не уклоняйтесь от него.

6 Only be strong to keep and do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, the servant of God, and not turn aside from it, neither to the right hand nor to the left;

7 Среди нас всё ещё живут люди, которые не являются народом Израиля. Эти люди поклоняются своим собственным богам. Не заводите дружбу с этими народами и не служите их богам.

7 And you shall not mix with these nations that remain among you; neither make mention of the names of their gods, nor swear by them, neither serve them, nor worship them;

8 Вы должны продолжать идти за Господом, Богом вашим. Поступайте и впредь так, как делали это до сего дня.

8 But cleave to the LORD your God, as you have done even to this day.

9 Господь помог вам разгромить многие великие и сильные народы. Господь заставил эти народы уйти, и ни один из них не смог победить вас.

9 For the LORD has destroyed from before you great and strong nations; and no man has been able to stand against you to this day.

10 С помощью Господа один израильтянин мог победить тысячу вражеских воинов, потому что Господь, Бог ваш, Сам сражается за вас, как обещал вам.

10 One man of you shall chase a thousand; for the LORD your God is with you, he it is who fights for you, as he has promised you.

11 Поэтому любите Господа, Бога вашего.

11 Take good heed therefore to yourselves, to revere the LORD your God.

12 Следуйте за Господом. Не заводите дружбы с теми, кто не принадлежит народу Израиля. Не вступайте в брак ни с кем из них. Но если вы всё-таки подружитесь с этими людьми,

12 For if you ever turn back and join the remnant of these nations that remain among you and make marriages with them and mix with them and they with you;

13 то знайте, что Господь, Бог ваш, не поможет вам одолеть ваших врагов. Эти люди станут для вас ловушкой и принесут вам боль, подобную дыму и пыли, которые попадают в глаза, и вы будете вынуждены уйти из этой благодатной земли. Господь, Бог ваш, дал вам её, но вы потеряете эту землю, если не будете исполнять Его волю.

13 Then know for sure that the LORD your God will no more destroy these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps to you, and spears in your sides and fishhooks in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.

14 Пришло время мне умереть. Вы знаете и верите, что Господь свершил много великих дел для вас и никогда не нарушил ни одного из Своих обещаний. Господь исполнил каждое обещание, которое дал нам.

14 And as for me, I am now going the way of all the earth; and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good promises which the LORD your God spoke concerning you; all have come to pass to you, and not one thing has failed.

15 Все добрые обещания, которые Господь дал нам, сбылись. Но Господь сдержит и другое Своё обещание. Он обещал, что, если вы будете поступать неправильно, с вами случатся несчастья. Он обещал, что прогонит вас с этой доброй земли, которую Он дал вам,

15 Therefore, just as all the good things have come upon you which the LORD your God promised, so shall come upon you all the curses, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you;

16 если вы откажетесь выполнять своё соглашение с Господом, Богом вашим. Вы потеряете эту землю, если пойдёте и станете служить другим богам. Господь сильно разгневается на вас, и тогда Он позволит другим народам изгнать вас из той благодатной земли, которую Он отдал вам».

16 If you should transgress against the covenant of the LORD your God and against the commandments which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods and worship them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and you shall perish quickly from off the good land which he has given you.
