Chapter 19

1 WHEN Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came to the border of Judaea, at the crossing of the Jordan.

2 And a great many people followed him, and he healed them there.

3 And the Pharisees came up to him and were tempting him and saying, Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause?

4 But he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he who made from the beginning, made them male and female?

5 And he said, Because of this, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.

6 Henceforth they are not two, but one body; therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate.

7 They said to him, Why then did Moses command to give a letter of separation and then divorce her?

8 He said to them, Moses, considering the hardness of your heart, gave you permission to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it was not so.

9 But I say to you, Whoever leaves his wife without a charge of adultery and marries another commits adultery; and he who marries a woman thus separated commits adultery.

10 His disciples said to him, If there is so much scandal between man and woman, it is not worthwhile to marry.

11 He said to them, This saying does not apply to every man, but to whom it is needed.

12 For there are eunuchs who were born this way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. To him who can grasp, this is enough.

13 Then they brought little boys to him, that he may lay his hand on them and pray; and his disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said to them, Allow the little boys to come to me, and do not stop them; for the kingdom of heaven is for such as these.

15 And he laid his hand on them, and went away from thence.

16 Then a man came up and said to him, O good * Teacher, what is the best that I should do to have life eternal?

17 He said to him, Why do you call me good? There is no one who is good except the one God; but if you want to enter into life, obey the commandments.

18 He said to him, Which ones? And Jesus said to him, You shall not kill; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness;

19 Honor your father and your mother; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.

20 The young man said to him, I have obeyed all these from my boyhood, what do I lack?

21 Jesus said to him. If you wish to be perfect, go and sell your possessions and give them to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven; then follow me.

22 When the young man heard this word, he went away sad, for he had great possessions.

23 Jesus then said to his disciples, Truly I say to you, It is difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

24 Again I say to you, It is easier for a rope to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

25 When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, Who then can be saved?

26 Jesus looked at them and said, For men this is impossible, but for God everything is possible.

27 Then Peter answered and said to him, Behold, we have left everything and followed you; what will we have?

28 Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, that in the new world when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, you who have come after me shall also sit on twelve chairs, and you shall judge the twelve tribes of Israel.

29 And every man who leaves houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or fields, for my name's sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

30 But many who are first shall be last, and the last first.

1 Закончив Свою притчу, Иисус покинул Галилею и отправился в окрестности Иудеи за рекой Иордан.

2 За Ним следовали толпы людей, и Он исцелял там всех, кто был болен.

3 К Иисусу пришли фарисеи и, испытывая Его, спросили: «По всякой ли причине имеет человек право разводиться со своей женой?»

4 Иисус ответил: «Разве не читали вы в Писаниях, что в самом начале Бог „сотворил людей мужчиной и женщиной”,

5 и сказал: „Поэтому мужчина оставит отца и мать и соединится со своей женой, и станут двое единой плотью”,

6 так что их уже не двое, а лишь одна плоть. То, что соединил Бог, никто да не разъединит».

7 Тогда фарисеи спросили у Него: «Почему тогда Моисей приказал: „Выдай ей письмо о разводе и разведись с ней” ?»

8 Иисус ответил им: «Из-за того, что вы отказались принять Божье учение. Моисей разрешил вам разводиться с жёнами, но не так было вначале.

9 Но говорю вам, что каждый, кто разводится со своей женой не за прелюбодеяние и женится на другой, тот прелюбодействует».

10 Ученики возразили Ему: «Если у мужа такие обязанности перед женой, то лучше и вовсе не жениться».

11 Тогда Иисус сказал им: «Не каждый может принять это, а только те, кому дано это было.

12 Потому что есть такие мужчины, которые родились скопцами, и другие, которых люди превратили в скопцов, а есть и такие, которые сами стали скопцами ради Царства Небесного. Тот, кто может принять это, пусть принимает».

13 После этого к Нему привели детей, чтобы Он возложил на них руки и помолился, но ученики порицали тех, кто привёл детей.

14 Иисус же сказал: «Пусть дети приходят, не препятствуйте им приходить ко Мне, так как Царство Небесное принадлежит таким, как они».

15 И Он возложил на них руки, а после этого ушёл оттуда.

16 Однажды некий юноша пришёл и обратился к Иисусу с вопросом: «Учитель, какое доброе дело должен я сделать, чтобы обрести вечную жизнь?»

17 Иисус ответил ему: «Почему спрашиваешь Меня о том, что такое добро? Только Господь один добр, но если хочешь обрести вечную жизнь, то соблюдай заповеди».

18 Юноша спросил: «Какие заповеди?» Иисус же сказал: «„Не убивай. Не прелюбодействуй. Не кради. Не лжесвидетельствуй.

19 Почитай отца и мать. Люби ближнего своего, как самого себя”».

20 Услышав эти слова, юноша спросил: «Все это до сих пор я соблюдаю. Чего мне ещё недостает?»

21 Иисус ответил ему: «Если хочешь достичь совершенства, пойди и продай всё, что имеешь, раздай бедным и обретёшь сокровище на небесах. Тогда приди и следуй за Мной».

22 Услышав это, юноша ушёл опечаленный, так как у него было большое состояние.

23 И сказал Иисус Своим ученикам: «Правду вам говорю: трудно богатому войти в Царство Небесное.

24 И ещё скажу: легче верблюду пройти сквозь игольное ушко, чем богатому войти в Царство Небесное».

25 Когда ученики услышали это, то очень удивились и спросили: «Кто же тогда может спастись?»

26 Глядя на них, Иисус ответил: «Это для людей невозможно, но для Бога всё возможно».

27 Пётр тогда сказал Ему: «Послушай, мы ведь оставили всё и последовали за Тобой. Какая же нам тогда будет награда?»

28 Иисус ответил им: «Правду вам говорю, что в новом мире, когда Сын Человеческий воссядет на престоле славы Своей, вы, последовавшие за Мной, тоже сядете на двенадцати престолах и станете судить двенадцать племён Израиля.

29 И каждый, кто оставил свои дома или братьев и сестёр, или отца с матерью, или детей, или своё хозяйство, чтобы стать Моим последователем, обретёт в сто раз больше и унаследует вечную жизнь.

30 Но многие из тех, кто были первыми, станут последними, а последние станут первыми».

4 But he answered and said to them, Have you not read, that he who made from the beginning, made them male and female?

4 Иисус ответил: «Разве не читали вы в Писаниях, что в самом начале Бог „сотворил людей мужчиной и женщиной”,

5 And he said, Because of this, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.

5 и сказал: „Поэтому мужчина оставит отца и мать и соединится со своей женой, и станут двое единой плотью”,

6 Henceforth they are not two, but one body; therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate.

6 так что их уже не двое, а лишь одна плоть. То, что соединил Бог, никто да не разъединит».

7 They said to him, Why then did Moses command to give a letter of separation and then divorce her?

7 Тогда фарисеи спросили у Него: «Почему тогда Моисей приказал: „Выдай ей письмо о разводе и разведись с ней” ?»

8 He said to them, Moses, considering the hardness of your heart, gave you permission to divorce your wives; but from the beginning it was not so.

8 Иисус ответил им: «Из-за того, что вы отказались принять Божье учение. Моисей разрешил вам разводиться с жёнами, но не так было вначале.

9 But I say to you, Whoever leaves his wife without a charge of adultery and marries another commits adultery; and he who marries a woman thus separated commits adultery.

9 Но говорю вам, что каждый, кто разводится со своей женой не за прелюбодеяние и женится на другой, тот прелюбодействует».

10 His disciples said to him, If there is so much scandal between man and woman, it is not worthwhile to marry.

10 Ученики возразили Ему: «Если у мужа такие обязанности перед женой, то лучше и вовсе не жениться».

11 He said to them, This saying does not apply to every man, but to whom it is needed.

11 Тогда Иисус сказал им: «Не каждый может принять это, а только те, кому дано это было.

12 For there are eunuchs who were born this way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. To him who can grasp, this is enough.

12 Потому что есть такие мужчины, которые родились скопцами, и другие, которых люди превратили в скопцов, а есть и такие, которые сами стали скопцами ради Царства Небесного. Тот, кто может принять это, пусть принимает».

13 Then they brought little boys to him, that he may lay his hand on them and pray; and his disciples rebuked them.

13 После этого к Нему привели детей, чтобы Он возложил на них руки и помолился, но ученики порицали тех, кто привёл детей.

14 But Jesus said to them, Allow the little boys to come to me, and do not stop them; for the kingdom of heaven is for such as these.

14 Иисус же сказал: «Пусть дети приходят, не препятствуйте им приходить ко Мне, так как Царство Небесное принадлежит таким, как они».

15 And he laid his hand on them, and went away from thence.

15 И Он возложил на них руки, а после этого ушёл оттуда.

16 Then a man came up and said to him, O good * Teacher, what is the best that I should do to have life eternal?

16 Однажды некий юноша пришёл и обратился к Иисусу с вопросом: «Учитель, какое доброе дело должен я сделать, чтобы обрести вечную жизнь?»

17 He said to him, Why do you call me good? There is no one who is good except the one God; but if you want to enter into life, obey the commandments.

17 Иисус ответил ему: «Почему спрашиваешь Меня о том, что такое добро? Только Господь один добр, но если хочешь обрести вечную жизнь, то соблюдай заповеди».

18 He said to him, Which ones? And Jesus said to him, You shall not kill; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness;

18 Юноша спросил: «Какие заповеди?» Иисус же сказал: «„Не убивай. Не прелюбодействуй. Не кради. Не лжесвидетельствуй.

19 Honor your father and your mother; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.

19 Почитай отца и мать. Люби ближнего своего, как самого себя”».

20 The young man said to him, I have obeyed all these from my boyhood, what do I lack?

20 Услышав эти слова, юноша спросил: «Все это до сих пор я соблюдаю. Чего мне ещё недостает?»

21 Jesus said to him. If you wish to be perfect, go and sell your possessions and give them to the poor, and you will have a treasure in heaven; then follow me.

21 Иисус ответил ему: «Если хочешь достичь совершенства, пойди и продай всё, что имеешь, раздай бедным и обретёшь сокровище на небесах. Тогда приди и следуй за Мной».

22 When the young man heard this word, he went away sad, for he had great possessions.

22 Услышав это, юноша ушёл опечаленный, так как у него было большое состояние.

23 Jesus then said to his disciples, Truly I say to you, It is difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

23 И сказал Иисус Своим ученикам: «Правду вам говорю: трудно богатому войти в Царство Небесное.

24 Again I say to you, It is easier for a rope to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

24 И ещё скажу: легче верблюду пройти сквозь игольное ушко, чем богатому войти в Царство Небесное».

25 When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, Who then can be saved?

25 Когда ученики услышали это, то очень удивились и спросили: «Кто же тогда может спастись?»

26 Jesus looked at them and said, For men this is impossible, but for God everything is possible.

26 Глядя на них, Иисус ответил: «Это для людей невозможно, но для Бога всё возможно».
