Chapter 21

1 AND I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away; and the sea was no more.

2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice from heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and the very God shall be with them, and be their God;

4 And he shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor wailing, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things have passed away.

5 And he who sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. Then he said to me, Write: for these are the trustworthy and true words of God.

6 And he said to me, I am Aleph and Tau, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give of the fountain of living water to him who is thirsty.

7 He who overcomes shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8 But as for the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the sinful, and the abominable, and murderers, and those who commit adultery, and the magicians, and the idolators, and all liars, their portion shall be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9 And there came to me one of the seven angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and he talked with me, saying, Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.

10 And he carried me away in the spirit onto a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11 Having the glory of God, radiant as a brilliant light, resembling a very precious gem; like a jasper stone, clear as crystal:

12 It had a wall great and high, and it had twelve gates, with names inscribed thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13 On the east were three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 And he who talked with me had a measuring rod of golden reed to measure the city, and its gates, and its wall.

16 And the city was laid four-square, and the length was the same as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, about twelve furlongs, twelve thousand paces. And the length and breadth and the height were equal.

17 And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18 And the wall was constructed of jasper: and the city itself was pure gold, resembling clear glass.

19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second sapphire; the third chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;

20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprasus; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

21 And the twelve gates were adorned with twelve pearls; one for each of the gates, and each gate was made of a single pearl; and the great street of the city was of pure gold. as it were transparent glass.

22 But I saw no temple therein: for the LORD Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23 The city has no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God lightens it, and the Lamb is the lamp of it.

24 And the people who have been saved shall walk by that very light: and the kings of the earth shall bring their own glory and the honor of the people into it.

25 And the gates of it shall not be barred by day: for there is no night there.

26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the people into it.

27 And there shall not enter into it anything which defiles, nor he who works abominations and lies; only those shall enter whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

1 И увидел я новое небо и новую землю (ведь прежнего неба и земли не стало уже и моря тоже).

2 Увидел я, Иоанн, город святой, новый Иерусалим. Он с неба спускался, от Бога. Был убран город, как невеста, украшенная для жениха своего.

3 Послышался от престола громкий голос: «Вот обитель Бога — среди людей. Здесь будет жить Он вместе с ними. И будут они народом Его, а Он будет с ними [их Богом].

4 Отрет Он все горькие слезы с очей их: не будет уже смерти, ни скорби не будет больше, ни крика, ни боли, [ибо] всё прежнее ушло».

5 Сказал тогда Сидящий на престоле: «Смотри, творю Я всё новое!», а мне говорит: «Запиши, ибо верны, истинны эти слова!

6 Свершилось!» И еще Он добавил: «Я — Альфа и Омега, Начало и Конец. Жаждущим дам Я воду из источника жизни, дам им как дар.

7 Всё это наследует победитель, и буду Я ему Богом, а он Мне — сыном.

8 Удел же малодушных и неверных, всех осквернившихся, убийц, блудников, чародеев, идолослужителей и лжецов всех — озеро огненное с горящей серой, смерть вторая».

9 И пришел один из семи ангелов, у которых было семь чаш с семью последними бедствиями. Он сказал мне: «Иди сюда, я покажу тебе невесту, будущую жену Агнца».

10 Вознес он меня, Духом объятого, на огромную, высокую гору и показал мне святой город Иерусалим, сходящий с неба, от Бога.

11 Сиял этот город славою Божьей, и сияние это было подобно сиянию драгоценного камня, прозрачного, как хрусталь, алмаза.

12 Город окружала большая, высокая стена, и было в ней двенадцать ворот, у которых стояли двенадцать ангелов, и были начертаны на воротах имена, [имена] двенадцати колен сынов Израиля.

13 С востока было трое ворот, с севера — трое, с юга — трое и с запада — тоже трое.

14 Стояла стена города на двенадцати основаниях, и на них — двенадцать имен двенадцати апостолов Агнца.

15 У говорившего со мной ангела была золотая трость, которой собирался он измерить и город, и ворота его, и стены его.

16 Город был квадратным (длина его равнялась ширине). Намерил ангел тростью 120 стадий и в длину, и в ширину, и в высоту.

17 И стену города он измерил: было в ней 144 локтя (меры человеческой, которой и ангелы пользовались).

18 Стена города была из яшмы, а сам он — золото чистое, как стекло прозрачное.

19 Основания городской стены украшены всякими драгоценными камнями: в первом основании — яшма, во втором — сапфир, в третьем — халцедон, в четвертом — изумруд,

20 в пятом — сардоникс, в шестом — сердолик, в седьмом — хризолит, в восьмом — берилл, в девятом — топаз, в десятом — хризопраз, в одиннадцатом — гиацинт и в двенадцатом — аметист.

21 А двенадцать ворот — двенадцать жемчужин: каждые ворота — из одной жемчужины. Улицы города — чистое золото, как стекло прозрачное.

22 А храма в городе я не увидел, ибо храм его — Господь Бог Вседержитель и Агнец.

23 Не нужно этому городу, чтобы солнце и луна светили ему. Слава Божия воссияла над ним, и Агнец — солнце его.

24 В таком вот сиянии будут жить народы, и цари земные принесут сюда славу свою.

25 Ворота города будут открыты весь день, никогда не будут они запираться, ночи ведь там не будет.

26 Принесена будет в этот город слава и честь народов.

27 И не войдет в него ничто нечистое и никто из делающих мерзкое и ложь говорящих, только те, кто записан в Книгу Жизни Агнца, войдут в этот город.

21 А двенадцать ворот — двенадцать жемчужин: каждые ворота — из одной жемчужины. Улицы города — чистое золото, как стекло прозрачное.

22 А храма в городе я не увидел, ибо храм его — Господь Бог Вседержитель и Агнец.

23 Не нужно этому городу, чтобы солнце и луна светили ему. Слава Божия воссияла над ним, и Агнец — солнце его.

24 В таком вот сиянии будут жить народы, и цари земные принесут сюда славу свою.

25 Ворота города будут открыты весь день, никогда не будут они запираться, ночи ведь там не будет.

26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the people into it.

26 Принесена будет в этот город слава и честь народов.

27 И не войдет в него ничто нечистое и никто из делающих мерзкое и ложь говорящих, только те, кто записан в Книгу Жизни Агнца, войдут в этот город.
