Matthew

Chapter 7

1 Judge2919 not, that you be not judged.2919

2 For with what3739 judgment2917 you judge,2919 you shall be judged:2919 and with what3739 measure3358 you mete,3354 it shall be measured488 to you again.488

3 And why5101 behold991 you the mote2595 that is in your brother's80 eye,3788 but consider2657 not the beam1385 that is in your4674 own eye?3788

4 Or2228 how4459 will you say2046 to your brother,80 Let863 me pull1544 out the mote2595 out of your4675 eye;3788 and, behold,2400 a beam1385 is in your4675 own eye?3788

5 You hypocrite,5273 first4412 cast1544 out the beam1385 out of your4675 own eye;3788 and then5119 shall you see1227 clearly1227 to cast1544 out the mote2595 out of your brother's80 eye.3788

6 Give1325 not that which3588 is holy40 to the dogs,2965 neither3366 cast906 you your5216 pearls3135 before1715 swine,5519 lest3379 they trample2662 them under1722 their feet,4228 and turn4762 again4762 and rend4486 you.

7 Ask,154 and it shall be given1325 you; seek,2212 and you shall find;2147 knock,2925 and it shall be opened455 to you:

8 For every3956 one that asks154 receives;2983 and he that seeks2212 finds;2147 and to him that knocks2925 it shall be opened.455

9 Or2228 what5101 man444 is there of you, whom3739 if1437 his son5207 ask154 bread,740 will he give1929 him a stone?3037

10 Or2532 if1437 he ask154 a fish,2486 will he give1929 him a serpent?3789

11 If1487 you then,3767 being5607 evil,4190 know1492 how to give1325 good18 gifts1435 to your5216 children,5043 how4214 much4214 more3123 shall your5216 Father3962 which3588 is in heaven3772 give1325 good18 things to them that ask154 him?

12 Therefore3767 all3956 things whatever3745 302 you would2309 that men444 should do4160 to you, do4160 you even2532 so3779 to them: for this3778 is the law3551 and the prophets.4396

13 Enter1525 you in at1223 the strait4728 gate:4439 for wide4116 is the gate,4439 and broad2149 is the way,3598 that leads520 to destruction,684 and many4183 there be which3588 go1525 in thereat:1223

14 Because3754 strait4728 is the gate,4439 and narrow2346 is the way,3598 which3588 leads520 to life,2222 and few3641 there be that find2147 it.

15 Beware4337 of false5578 prophets,5578 which3748 come2064 to you in sheep's4263 clothing,1742 but inwardly2081 they are ravening727 wolves.3074

16 You shall know1921 them by their fruits.2590 Do men gather4816 grapes4718 of thorns,173 or2228 figs4810 of thistles?5146

17 Even so3779 every3956 good18 tree1186 brings4160 forth4160 good2570 fruit;2590 but a corrupt4550 tree1186 brings4160 forth4160 evil4190 fruit.2590

18 A good18 tree1186 cannot3756 1410 bring4160 forth4160 evil4190 fruit,2590 neither3761 can a corrupt4550 tree1186 bring4160 forth4160 good2570 fruit.2590

19 Every3956 tree1186 that brings4160 not forth4160 good2570 fruit2590 is hewn1581 down,1581 and cast906 into1519 the fire.4442

20 Why686 1065 by their fruits2590 you shall know1921 them.

21 Not every3956 one that said3004 to me, Lord,2962 Lord,2962 shall enter1525 into1519 the kingdom932 of heaven;3772 but he that does4160 the will2307 of my Father3962 which3588 is in heaven.3772

22 Many4183 will say2046 to me in that day,2250 Lord,2962 Lord,2962 have we not prophesied4395 in your name?3686 and in your name3686 have cast1544 out devils?1140 and in your name3686 done4160 many4183 wonderful1411 works?

23 And then5119 will I profess3670 to them, I never3763 knew1097 you: depart672 from me, you that work2038 iniquity.458

24 Therefore3767 whoever3956 3748 hears191 these5128 sayings3056 of mine,3450 and does4160 them, I will liken3666 him to a wise5429 man,435 which3748 built3618 his house3614 on a rock:4073

25 And the rain1028 descended,2597 and the floods4215 came,2064 and the winds417 blew,4154 and beat4363 on that house;3614 and it fell4098 not: for it was founded2311 on a rock.4073

26 And every3956 one that hears191 these5128 sayings3056 of mine,3450 and does4160 them not, shall be likened3666 to a foolish3474 man,435 which3748 built3618 his house3614 on the sand:285

27 And the rain1028 descended,2597 and the floods4215 came,2064 and the winds417 blew,4154 and beat4350 on that house;3614 and it fell:4098 and great3173 was the fall4431 of it.

28 And it came1096 to pass, when3753 Jesus2424 had ended4931 these5128 sayings,3056 the people3793 were astonished1605 at1909 his doctrine:1322

29 For he taught2258 1321 them as one having2192 authority,1849 and not as the scribes.1122

Matthew

Chapter 7

1 JUDGE not, that you may not be judged.

2 For with the same judgment that you judge, you will be judged, and with the same measure with which you measure, it will be measured to you.

3 Why do you see the splinter which is in your brother's eye, and do not feel the beam which is in your own eye?

4 Or how can you say to your brother, let me take out the splinter from your eye, and behold there is a cross beam in your own eye?

5 O hypocrites, first take out the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to get out the splinter from your brother's eye.

6 Do not give holy things to the dogs; and do not throw your pearls before the swine, for they might tread them with their feet, and then turn and rend you.

7 Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.

8 For whoever asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, the door is opened.

9 Or who is the man among you, who when his son asks him for bread, why, will he hand him a stone?

10 Or if he should ask him for fish, why, will he hand him a snake?

11 If therefore you who err, know how to give good gifts to your sons, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him?

12 Whatever you wish men to do for you, do likewise also for them; for this is the law and the prophets.

13 Enter in through the narrow door, for wide is the door, and broad is the road which carries to destruction, and many are those who travel on it.

14 O how narrow is the door, and how difficult is the road which carries to life, and few are those who are found on it.

15 Be careful of false prophets who come to you in lamb's clothing, but within they are ravening wolves.

16 You will know them by their fruits. Why, do they gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

17 So every good tree bears good fruits; but a bad tree bears bad fruits.

18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruits, neither can a bad tree bear good fruits.

19 Any tree which does not bear good fruits will be cut down and cast into the fire.

20 Thus by their fruits you will know them.

21 It is not everyone who merely says to me, My Lord, my Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven.

22 A great many will say to me in that day, My Lord, my Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out devils, and in your name do many wonders?

23 Then I will declare to them, I have never known you; keep away from me, O you that work iniquity.

24 Therefore whoever hears these words of mine, and does them, he is like a wise man, who built his house upon a rock.

25 And the rain came down, and the rivers overflowed, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house; but it did not fall down, because its foundations were laid upon a rock.

26 And whoever hears these words of mine, and does them not, is like a foolish man, who built his house upon sand.

27 And the rain came down, and the rivers overflowed, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house; and it fell down, and its fall was very great.

28 And it happened when Jesus finished these words, the crowds were stunned at his teaching.

29 For he taught them as one who had the power, and not like their own scribes and Pharisees.
