1 Thus3541 said559 the LORD,3068 The heaven8064 is my throne,3678 and the earth776 is my footstool:1916 7272 where335 is the house1004 that you build1129 to me? and where335 is the place4725 of my rest?4496

2 For all3605 those428 things has my hand3027 made,6213 and all3605 those428 things have been,1961 said5002 the LORD:3068 but to this2088 man will I look,5027 even to him that is poor6041 and of a contrite5223 spirit,7307 and trembles2730 at5921 my word.1697

3 He that kills7819 an ox7794 is as if he slew5221 a man;376 he that sacrifices2076 a lamb,7716 as if he cut off a dog's3611 neck;6202 he that offers5927 an oblation,4503 as if he offered5927 swine's2386 blood;1818 he that burns2142 incense,3828 as if he blessed1288 an idol.205 Yes,1571 they have chosen977 their own ways,1870 and their soul5315 delights2654 in their abominations.8251

4 I also1571 will choose977 their delusions,8586 and will bring935 their fears4035 on them; because3282 when I called,7121 none369 did answer;6030 when I spoke,1696 they did not hear:8085 but they did6213 evil7451 before my eyes,5869 and chose977 that in which834 I delighted2654 not.

4 I also will allow them to be humiliated and will recompense them according to their works; because when I called, none did answer; when I spoke, they did not listen; but they did evil in my sight, and chose the things in which I delighted not.

5 Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word; say to your brethren who hate you and who despise you for my name's sake, Let the LORD be glorified, and rejoice in your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

6 A voice of tumult comes from the city, a voice from the temple, the voice of the LORD who renders recompense to his enemies!

8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born in an hour? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

10 Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad with her, all you who love her; rejoice in joy with her, all you who mourn over her,

11 That you may suck and be satisfied with the comfort of her breast; that you may milk out and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

12 For thus says the LORD: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, like an overflowing torrent; and you shall suck the glory of the Gentiles; and you shall be carried on the litters and be dandled upon the knees;

13 As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

14 And when you shall see this, your heart shall rejoice and your bones shall flourish like tender grass; and the hand of the LORD shall be stretched out toward his servants, and he shall destroy his enemies.

16 For by fire will the LORD judge, and by it will he test all flesh; and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

17 Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves in the gardens, following one after another in the midst, eating swine's flesh and creeping things and mice, shall be consumed together, says the LORD.

18 For I know their works and their thoughts; when I come to gather all nations and tongues, they shall come and see my glory.

19 I will set a sign among them, and those who escape I will send among the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, and to the islands afar off that have not heard my fame, neither have they seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

20 And upon horses and in chariots and in litters they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the LORD out of all nations to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the LORD, as the children of Israel bring a meal offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.

21 And I will also take some of them for priests and for Levites, says the LORD.

22 For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will snake shall remain before me, says the LORD, So shall your descendants and your name remain.

23 And it shall come to pass that from one new moon to another and from one sabbath to another all flesh shall come to worship before me, says the LORD.

24 And they shall go forth and look on the dead bodies of the men that have transgressed against me; for their coals shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.
