2 „Що́ це вам, що ви складаєте припові́стку на Ізраїлеву землю, говорячи: „Батьки їли неспіле, а оско́ма в синів на зуба́х!“ |
|
3 Як живий Я, — говорить Господь Бог, — не бу́дете вже складати тієї припові́стки в Ізраїлі! |
|
4 Тож усі душі Мої: як душа ба́тькова, так і душа синова — Мої вони! Душа, що грішить, — вона помре. |
|
5 А чоловік, коли він справедливий, і робить право та справедливість, |
|
6 на гора́х жертве́нного не їсть, і очей своїх не зводить до божкі́в Ізраїлевого дому, і жі́нки свого ближнього не занечищує, а до жінки в ча́сі її нечистоти́ не набли́жується, |
|
7 і ніко́го не тисне, боржникові заста́ву його конче зверта́є, грабу́нку не чинить, хліб свій дає голодному, а голого покриває одежею, |
|
8 на ли́хву не дає, а відсотків не бере, від кривди відверта́є руку свою, чинить правдивий суд поміж чоловіком та чоловіком, |
|
9 уста́вами Моїми ходить, а прав Моїх дотримує, щоб чинити правду, — справедливий такий конче буде жити, говорить Господь Бог! |
|
10 А як поро́дить він сина наси́льника, що кров проливає, і робить хоч тільки одне з того, |
|
11 чого він усього того не робив, а також на гора́х жертве́нне їв, і жінку свого ближнього занечи́щував, |
|
12 убогого й бідаря́ утискав, грабу́нки чинив, застави боржнико́ві не зверта́в, і до божкі́в зво́див свої очі, гидо́ту робив, |
|
13 на ли́хву давав, і відсо́ток брав, — то чи буде він жити? Не буде він жити! Він усі ті гидо́ти чинив, — він мусить конче померти, кров його буде на ньо́му! |
|
14 А ось породив він сина, і той побачив усі гріхи свого батька, які той робив, і хоч бачив, та не робив, як той: |
|
15 на гора́х жертве́нного не їв, і очей своїх до божкі́в Ізраїлевого дому не зво́див, жінки свого ближнього не занечи́щував, |
|
16 і ніко́го не утискав, заста́ви у за́став не брав, і грабунку не чинив, хліб свій голодному давав, а голого одежею покривав, |
|
17 від кривди свою руку відверта́в, ли́хви та відсо́тків не брав, права́ Мої чинив, уста́вами Моїми ходив, — такий не помре за провину свого батька, — він конче буде жити! |
|
18 Батько ж його, за те, що у́тиском тиснув, грабу́нком грабував брата, і що недобре чинив серед наро́ду свого, то ось він помре за провину свою! |
|
19 А скажете ви: „Чому́ той син не поніс провину за батька?“ Але ж син той чинив право та справедливість, дотримував усі устави Мої й виконував їх, — він конче буде жити! |
|
20 Та душа, що грішить, вона помре. Син не понесе кари за ба́тькову провину, а ба́тько не понесе за провину си́нову, — справедливість справедливого буде на ньому, а несправедливість несправедливого на тому буде. |
|
21 А коли б несправедливий відвернувся від усіх гріхів своїх, яких нароби́в, і вико́нував усі устави Мої, і робив право та справедли́вість, — буде конче він жити, не помре! |
|
22 Усі його гріхи́, які наробив він, не згадаються йому, — він буде жити в своїй справедливості, яку чинив! |
|
23 Чи Я маю вподо́бання в смерті несправедливого? — говорить Господь Бог, — чи ж не в тому, щоб він повернувся з доріг своїх та й жив? |
|
24 А коли б справедливий відвернувся від своєї справедливости й став робити кривду, — усі ті гидо́ти, які робить несправедливий, то чи такий буде жити? Усі справедливості його, які він робив, не згадаються, — за своє спроневі́рення, що він спроневі́рив, і за гріх свій, що згрішив, за них він помре! |

25 А ви кажете: „Непра́ва Господня дорога!“ Послухайте но, доме Ізраїлів, чи ж дорога Моя неправа? Чи не ваші дороги неправі? |
|
26 Коли б справедливий відверну́вся від своєї справедливости й чинив кривду, і за те помер, то він помре за кривду свою, яку він чинив. |
|
27 А коли б несправедливий відвернувся від своєї несправедливости, яку він чинив, і чинив би право та справедливість, він душу свою при житті збереже́. |
|
28 І коли б він побачив, і відвернувся від усіх своїх гріхів, які він чинив, то конче буде він жити, не помре! |
|
29 А Ізраїлів дім каже: „Непра́ва Господня дорога!“ Чи ж Мої дороги неправі, доме Ізраїлів? Чи ж то не ваші дороги неправі? |
|
30 Тому́ буду судити вас, доме Ізраїлів, кожного за дорогами його, говорить Господь Бог. Покайтеся, і відверні́ться від усіх ваших гріхів, і не буде вам провина на спотика́ння! |
|
31 Поскида́йте з себе всі ваші гріхи, якими ви грішили, і створіть собі нове́ серце та ново́го духа! І на́що маєте померти, Ізраїлів доме? |
|
32 Бо не жадаю Я смерти помира́ючого, говорить Господь Бог, але покайтеся та й живіть! |

|
1 THE word of the LORD came to me, saying, |
|
2 Son of man, why do you use this proverb in the land of Israel, saying, The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? |
|
3 As I live, says the LORD God, this proverb shall never be used again in Israel. |
|
4 Because all souls are mine; the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sins, it shall die. |
|
5 But if a man be righteous and do justice and righteousness, |
|
6 And has not eaten the meat sacrificed to idols on the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols and the altars of the house of Israel, neither has defiled his neighbor's wife, nor has come near a menstruous woman, |
|
7 And has not oppressed any man, and has not harmed any one, but has restored to the debtor his pledge; has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment; |
|
8 He has not lent money with usury, neither has loaned with a discount; has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, and has executed true judgment between man and man; |
|
9 Has walked in my commandments, and has kept my judgments, and has done justice; he who does so is a righteous man and shall surely live, says the LORD God. |
|
10 If he begets a son who is a wicked man, a shedder of blood, and he does any one of these evil things, |
|
11 And eats the meat sacrificed to idols on the mountains, and defiles his neighbor's wife, |
|
12 Oppresses the poor and needy, extorts from his neighbor, restores not the pledge to its owner, lifts up his eyes to the idols, commits abomination, |
|
13 Lends money with usury, and takes a discount; shall he then live? He shall not live: because he has done all these evil things; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him. |
|
14 But if he begets a son, who sees all the sins that his father had committed, and shall not do likewise, |
|
15 And who shall not eat meat sacrificed to the idols on the mountains, neither shall lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel; shall defile not his neighbor's wife, |
|
16 Oppresses no man, takes no pledge from any one, extorts no one, but shall give his bread to the hungry and cover the naked with a garment; |
|
17 Who does not refuse to help the poor, who charges no usury or discount, executes my judgments, and walks in my commandments; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live. |
|
18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed and extorted from his brother and did nothing that is good among his people, lo, he is dead in his own sins. |
|
19 And if they should say, Why does not the son bear the sins of his father? say to them, Because the son has done that which is lawful and right and has kept all my commandments, he shall surely live. |
|
20 The soul that sins, that soul shall die. The son shall not bear the sins of his father, neither shall the father bear the sins of his son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. |
|
21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins which he has committed, and keep all my commandments, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. |
|
22 All his sins which he has committed, they shall not be remembered against him; but in the righteousness which he has done shall he live. |
|
23 I have no pleasure in the death of a sinner, says the LORD God; but rather that he should return from his evil ways and live. |
|
24 But if the righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and abominations like those that the sinner has done, all the righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered to him, but in the iniquity which he has committed and in the sins that he has sinned, in them shall he die. |
|
25 Yet you say, The ways of the LORD are not fair. Hear now, O house of Israel; my ways are fair, but it is your ways that are not fair. |
|
26 If a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, in the iniquity that he has committed shall he die. |
|
27 But if a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he has committed and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. |
|
28 And if he considers and turns away from all the sins that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. |
|
29 Yet the house of Israel says, The ways of the LORD are not fair. O house of Israel, my ways are fair, but it is your ways that are not fair. |
|
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the LORD God. Repent and turn away from all your transgressions, so that your sins may not be your ruin. |
|
31 Cast away from you all the iniquities which you have committed; and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit, so that you may not die, O house of Israel. |
|
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of any one who dies, says the LORD God; wherefore repent and live. |

1 THE word of the LORD came to me, saying, |

2 „Що́ це вам, що ви складаєте припові́стку на Ізраїлеву землю, говорячи: „Батьки їли неспіле, а оско́ма в синів на зуба́х!“ |
2 Son of man, why do you use this proverb in the land of Israel, saying, The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? |

3 Як живий Я, — говорить Господь Бог, — не бу́дете вже складати тієї припові́стки в Ізраїлі! |

4 Тож усі душі Мої: як душа ба́тькова, так і душа синова — Мої вони! Душа, що грішить, — вона помре. |
4 Because all souls are mine; the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sins, it shall die. |
|
5 А чоловік, коли він справедливий, і робить право та справедливість, |
5 But if a man be righteous and do justice and righteousness, |
|
6 на гора́х жертве́нного не їсть, і очей своїх не зводить до божкі́в Ізраїлевого дому, і жі́нки свого ближнього не занечищує, а до жінки в ча́сі її нечистоти́ не набли́жується, |
6 And has not eaten the meat sacrificed to idols on the mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols and the altars of the house of Israel, neither has defiled his neighbor's wife, nor has come near a menstruous woman, |

|

15 And who shall not eat meat sacrificed to the idols on the mountains, neither shall lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel; shall defile not his neighbor's wife, |

16 і ніко́го не утискав, заста́ви у за́став не брав, і грабунку не чинив, хліб свій голодному давав, а голого одежею покривав, |
16 Oppresses no man, takes no pledge from any one, extorts no one, but shall give his bread to the hungry and cover the naked with a garment; |
|
17 від кривди свою руку відверта́в, ли́хви та відсо́тків не брав, права́ Мої чинив, уста́вами Моїми ходив, — такий не помре за провину свого батька, — він конче буде жити! |
17 Who does not refuse to help the poor, who charges no usury or discount, executes my judgments, and walks in my commandments; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live. |
|
18 Батько ж його, за те, що у́тиском тиснув, грабу́нком грабував брата, і що недобре чинив серед наро́ду свого, то ось він помре за провину свою! |
18 As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed and extorted from his brother and did nothing that is good among his people, lo, he is dead in his own sins. |
|
19 А скажете ви: „Чому́ той син не поніс провину за батька?“ Але ж син той чинив право та справедливість, дотримував усі устави Мої й виконував їх, — він конче буде жити! |
19 And if they should say, Why does not the son bear the sins of his father? say to them, Because the son has done that which is lawful and right and has kept all my commandments, he shall surely live. |
|
20 Та душа, що грішить, вона помре. Син не понесе кари за ба́тькову провину, а ба́тько не понесе за провину си́нову, — справедливість справедливого буде на ньому, а несправедливість несправедливого на тому буде. |
20 The soul that sins, that soul shall die. The son shall not bear the sins of his father, neither shall the father bear the sins of his son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. |
|
21 А коли б несправедливий відвернувся від усіх гріхів своїх, яких нароби́в, і вико́нував усі устави Мої, і робив право та справедли́вість, — буде конче він жити, не помре! |
21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins which he has committed, and keep all my commandments, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. |
|
22 Усі його гріхи́, які наробив він, не згадаються йому, — він буде жити в своїй справедливості, яку чинив! |
22 All his sins which he has committed, they shall not be remembered against him; but in the righteousness which he has done shall he live. |
|
23 Чи Я маю вподо́бання в смерті несправедливого? — говорить Господь Бог, — чи ж не в тому, щоб він повернувся з доріг своїх та й жив? |
23 I have no pleasure in the death of a sinner, says the LORD God; but rather that he should return from his evil ways and live. |
|
24 А коли б справедливий відвернувся від своєї справедливости й став робити кривду, — усі ті гидо́ти, які робить несправедливий, то чи такий буде жити? Усі справедливості його, які він робив, не згадаються, — за своє спроневі́рення, що він спроневі́рив, і за гріх свій, що згрішив, за них він помре! |
24 But if the righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity and abominations like those that the sinner has done, all the righteousness that he has done shall not be remembered to him, but in the iniquity which he has committed and in the sins that he has sinned, in them shall he die. |
|
25 А ви кажете: „Непра́ва Господня дорога!“ Послухайте но, доме Ізраїлів, чи ж дорога Моя неправа? Чи не ваші дороги неправі? |
25 Yet you say, The ways of the LORD are not fair. Hear now, O house of Israel; my ways are fair, but it is your ways that are not fair. |
|
26 Коли б справедливий відверну́вся від своєї справедливости й чинив кривду, і за те помер, то він помре за кривду свою, яку він чинив. |
26 If a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, in the iniquity that he has committed shall he die. |
|
27 А коли б несправедливий відвернувся від своєї несправедливости, яку він чинив, і чинив би право та справедливість, він душу свою при житті збереже́. |
27 But if a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he has committed and does that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. |
|
28 І коли б він побачив, і відвернувся від усіх своїх гріхів, які він чинив, то конче буде він жити, не помре! |
28 And if he considers and turns away from all the sins that he has committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. |
|
29 А Ізраїлів дім каже: „Непра́ва Господня дорога!“ Чи ж Мої дороги неправі, доме Ізраїлів? Чи ж то не ваші дороги неправі? |
29 Yet the house of Israel says, The ways of the LORD are not fair. O house of Israel, my ways are fair, but it is your ways that are not fair. |
|
30 Тому́ буду судити вас, доме Ізраїлів, кожного за дорогами його, говорить Господь Бог. Покайтеся, і відверні́ться від усіх ваших гріхів, і не буде вам провина на спотика́ння! |
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the LORD God. Repent and turn away from all your transgressions, so that your sins may not be your ruin. |

31 Поскида́йте з себе всі ваші гріхи, якими ви грішили, і створіть собі нове́ серце та ново́го духа! І на́що маєте померти, Ізраїлів доме? |

32 Бо не жадаю Я смерти помира́ючого, говорить Господь Бог, але покайтеся та й живіть! |
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of any one who dies, says the LORD God; wherefore repent and live. |
