Глава 17

1 В горной стране Ефрема жил человек по имени Миха.

2 Миха сказал своей матери: «Помнишь те 1 100 шекелей серебра, которые у тебя украли и за которые ты при мне посылала проклятия? Это серебро у меня. Я взял его». Мать сказала: «Благослови тебя Господь, сын мой!»

3 Миха отдал серебро матери, и она сказала: «Это серебро я посвящаю Господу. Я даю его тебе, сын, чтобы ты сделал истукана и покрыл его этим серебром».

4 Но Миха вернул серебро матери. Тогда она взяла 200 шекелей серебра и отдала их серебряных дел мастеру, и он сделал идола, покрытого серебром. Эта статуя была поставлена в доме Михи.

5 У Михи был храм для поклонения идолам. Он также сделал ефод и статуи лжебогов. Затем Миха выбрал одного из своих сыновей и посвятил его в священники.

6 В то время у Израиля не было царя, и каждый делал то, что ему казалось правильным.

7 Там был тогда один юноша, левит, из Вифлеема иудейского, который жил среди народа Иуды.

8 Этот юноша ушёл из города Вифлеема, отправившись на поиски нового жилища. Путешествуя, он пришёл в горную страну Ефрема к дому Михи.

9 Миха спросил его: «Откуда ты идёшь?» Юноша ответил: «Я левит из Вифлеема иудейского. Ищу место, где бы поселиться».

10 И сказал ему Миха: «Оставайся жить у меня. Будь мне отцом и священником. Я буду давать тебе по 10 шекелей серебра в год и буду одевать тебя и кормить».

11 и согласился остаться жить у Михи, и был ему как один из его сыновей.

12 Миха посвятил молодого левита в священники. Юноша стал священником и жил в доме у Михи.

13 Миха сказал: «Теперь я знаю, что Господь будет ко мне благоволить, так как священником у меня служит левит».

Chapter 17

1 AND there was a man from mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.

2 And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver which were taken from you, which you swore about, and spoke of also in my ears, behold, it was I who took the silver. And his mother said, Blessed of the LORD is my son.

3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I have wholly consecrated the silver to the LORD from the hands of my son, to make a graven image and a molten image; now therefore restore it to me.

4 So he restored the money to his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver and gave it to the silversmith, who made it into a graven image and a molten image; and they were kept in the house of Micah.

5 And the man Micah had a house of gods, and he made an ephod and a teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

7 Now there was a young man from Bethlehem of Judah, whose name was Levi, and he sojourned there.

8 And the man had left the city of Beth-lehem of Judah to dwell wherever he could find a place; and he came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, to obtain provisions for his journey.

9 And Micah said to him, Whence do you come? And he replied, I am a Levite of Beth-lehem of Judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.

10 And Micah said to him, Dwell with me, and be to me as a father and a priest, and I will give you ten shekels of silver yearly, and your clothes and your food. So the Levite went in.

11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.

12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and he became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.

13 Then said Micah, Now I know that the LORD will do me good, seeing that the Levite has become my priest.

6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

7 Now there was a young man from Bethlehem of Judah, whose name was Levi, and he sojourned there.

8 Этот юноша ушёл из города Вифлеема, отправившись на поиски нового жилища. Путешествуя, он пришёл в горную страну Ефрема к дому Михи.

8 And the man had left the city of Beth-lehem of Judah to dwell wherever he could find a place; and he came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah, to obtain provisions for his journey.

9 Миха спросил его: «Откуда ты идёшь?» Юноша ответил: «Я левит из Вифлеема иудейского. Ищу место, где бы поселиться».

13 Then said Micah, Now I know that the LORD will do me good, seeing that the Levite has become my priest.
