Глава 16

1 Народ Израиля тронулся в путь из Елима и на пятнадцатый день второго месяца после ухода из Египта пришел в пустыню Син, что между Елимом и Синаем.

2 В пустыне народ стал роптать на Моисея и Аарона.

3 Израильтяне говорили им: — Лучше бы нам было умереть в Египте от руки Господа! Там мы сидели у котлов с мясом и ели хлеб досыта. А вы вывели нас в пустыню, чтобы весь народ уморить голодом.

4 Господь сказал Моисею: — Я осыплю вас хлебом с неба. Пусть народ выходит каждый день и собирает, сколько нужно на день. Так Я испытаю их, будут ли они следовать Моим наставлениям.

5 На шестой день пусть они соберут вдвое больше, чем в прочие дни, и заготовят это впрок.

6 Моисей и Аарон сказали израильтянам: — Вечером вы узнаете, что из Египта вас вывел Господь,

7 а утром увидите славу Господа, потому что Он услышал ваш ропот на Него. Кто мы такие, чтобы вам роптать на нас?

8 Еще Моисей сказал: — Вот как вы узнаете, что это был Господь: этим вечером Он накормит вас мясом, а утром даст вам вдоволь хлеба. Он услышал ваш ропот на Него. Кто мы такие? Вы ропщете не на нас, а на Господа.

9 Моисей сказал Аарону: — Скажи обществу израильскому: «Предстаньте пред Господом, потому что Он услышал ваш ропот».

10 Когда Аарон говорил с народом израильским, они повернулись к пустыне и увидели, как слава Господа явилась в облаке.

11 Господь сказал Моисею:

12 — Я услышал ропот израильтян. Скажи им: «К сумеркам вы будете есть мясо, а утром наедитесь хлеба. Тогда вы узнаете, что Я — Господь, ваш Бог».

13 В тот же вечер налетели перепела и накрыли лагерь, а утром вокруг лагеря легла роса.

14 Когда роса сошла, на поверхности пустыни показались тонкие хлопья, похожие на иней.

15 Увидев их, израильтяне говорили друг другу: — Что это? Они не знали, что это такое. Моисей сказал им: — Это хлеб, который Господь дал вам в пищу.

16 Господь повелел: «Пусть каждый собирает, сколько ему нужно. Берите по омеру на каждого члена семьи».

17 Израильтяне сделали так, как им сказали. Одни собрали больше, другие — меньше.

18 Но когда они измерили омером, то у того, кто собрал много, не было излишка, и у того, кто собрал мало, не было недостатка. Каждый собрал столько, сколько ему было нужно.

19 Моисей сказал им: — Пусть никто ничего не оставляет до утра.

20 Но некоторые не послушали Моисея и оставили часть до утра. В пище завелись черви, и она стала зловонной. Моисей разгневался на них.

21 Утром каждый собирал, сколько ему было нужно, а когда пригревало солнце, оно таяло.

22 На шестой день они собрали в два раза больше — по два омера на человека — и вожди народа пришли и доложили об этом Моисею.

23 Он сказал им: — Господь повелел: «Завтра — день покоя, святая суббота Господа. Испеките сейчас то, что хотите испечь, и сварите то, что хотите сварить. То, что останется, нужно отложить и сохранить до утра».

24 Они сохранили это до утра, как повелел Моисей, и оно не начало портиться, и черви в нем не завелись.

25 — Ешьте это сегодня, — сказал Моисей, — потому что сегодня суббота Господня. Сегодня вы ничего не найдете на земле.

26 Вы будете собирать хлопья шесть дней, но на седьмой день, в субботу, ничего не будет.

27 Некоторые из народа вышли собирать в седьмой день, но ничего не нашли.

28 Господь сказал Моисею: — Сколько еще вы будете нарушать Мои повеления и наставления?

29 Запомните: Господь дал вам субботу, и поэтому в шестой день дает вам хлеб на два дня. Пусть в седьмой день каждый остается там, где он есть. Пусть никто не выходит из дома.

30 И в седьмой день народ пребывал в покое.

31 Народ Израиля назвал эту пищу манной. Она была белой, как кориандровое семя, а на вкус — как медовое печенье.

32 Моисей сказал: — Так повелел Господь: «Возьмите омер манны и храните для грядущих поколений, чтобы они могли видеть хлеб, которым Я кормил вас в пустыне, когда вывел из Египта».

33 Моисей сказал Аарону: — Возьми кувшин и наполни его омером манны. Поставь его перед Господом, чтобы сохранить для грядущих поколений.

34 Как Господь повелел Моисею, Аарон поставил кувшин с манной перед ковчегом свидетельства, чтобы хранить.

35 Израильтяне ели манну сорок лет, пока не пришли в заселенную землю. Они ели манну, пока не достигли рубежей Ханаана.

Chapter 16

1 AND they journeyed from Elim, and the whole congregation of the children of Israel came to the wilderness of Seen, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departure from the land of Egypt.

2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness;

3 And the children of Israel said to them, Would that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, and when we did eat bread to the full; for you have brought us forth into this wilderness to destroy the whole assembly of Israel with hunger.

4 Then the LORD said to Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather sufficient food, day by day, for I will prove them, whether they will keep my laws or not.

5 And it shall come to pass that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

6 And Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, At evening, then you shall know that the LORD has brought you out from the land of Egypt;

7 And in the morning, then you shall see the glory of the LORD; for your murmuring has been heard before the LORD; but as for us, what are we that you should murmur against us?

8 And Moses said, When the LORD shall give you in the evening meat to eat and in the morning bread to the full, then the LORD has heard your murmuring which you murmured against him; but as for us, what are we? Your murmurings are not against us but against the LORD.

9 And Moses said to Aaron, Say to all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD; for he has heard your murmurings.

10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, they turned their faces toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

11 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying.

12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel; say to them, At evening you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God.

13 And it came to pass that at evening the quails came up and covered the camp; and in the morning the dew lay round about the camp.

14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a thin round crust, like the hoar frost on the ground.

15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, Manna-ho? (What is it?) For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.

16 This is the thing which the LORD has commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; each man shall take it for those in his tent.

17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.

18 And when they measured it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

19 And Moses said to them, Let no man leave of it till the morning.

20 Notwithstanding they listened not to Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms and stank; and Moses was angry with them.

21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating; and when the sun grew hot, it melted.

22 And it came to pass that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one person; and all the elders of the congregation came and told Moses.

23 Moses said to them, This is what the LORD has said, Tomorrow is a day of holy rest, a sabbath to the LORD; bake that which you will bake today, and cook what you will cook; and that which is left over, keep it cold for yourselves until the morning.

24 So they left over some of it till the morning, as Moses had commanded them; and it did not stink, neither was there any worm in it.

25 And Moses said to them, Eat it today; for today is a sabbath to the LORD; today you shall not find it in the field.

26 Six days you shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

27 And it came to pass that there went out some of the people on the seventh day to gather, and they found none.

28 And the LORD said to Moses, How long will you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?

29 See, for the LORD has given you the sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day bread for two days; abide every man in his place; let no man go out of his house on the seventh day.

30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

31 And the children of Israel called the name thereof manna; and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like honeycomb.

32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD has commanded, Fill an omer to be kept for your generations, that they may see the bread with which I have fed you in the wilderness when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.

33 And Moses said to Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.

34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up as a testimony, to be kept.

35 And the children of Israel did eat manna for forty years until they came to an inhabited land; they did eat manna until they reached the border of the land of Canaan.

36 Now an omer is the tenth of an ephah.

1 AND they journeyed from Elim, and the whole congregation of the children of Israel came to the wilderness of Seen, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departure from the land of Egypt.

2 В пустыне народ стал роптать на Моисея и Аарона.

2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness;

3 Израильтяне говорили им: — Лучше бы нам было умереть в Египте от руки Господа! Там мы сидели у котлов с мясом и ели хлеб досыта. А вы вывели нас в пустыню, чтобы весь народ уморить голодом.

3 And the children of Israel said to them, Would that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, and when we did eat bread to the full; for you have brought us forth into this wilderness to destroy the whole assembly of Israel with hunger.

4 Господь сказал Моисею: — Я осыплю вас хлебом с неба. Пусть народ выходит каждый день и собирает, сколько нужно на день. Так Я испытаю их, будут ли они следовать Моим наставлениям.

4 Then the LORD said to Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather sufficient food, day by day, for I will prove them, whether they will keep my laws or not.

5 На шестой день пусть они соберут вдвое больше, чем в прочие дни, и заготовят это впрок.

5 And it shall come to pass that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

6 Моисей и Аарон сказали израильтянам: — Вечером вы узнаете, что из Египта вас вывел Господь,

6 And Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, At evening, then you shall know that the LORD has brought you out from the land of Egypt;

7 а утром увидите славу Господа, потому что Он услышал ваш ропот на Него. Кто мы такие, чтобы вам роптать на нас?

7 And in the morning, then you shall see the glory of the LORD; for your murmuring has been heard before the LORD; but as for us, what are we that you should murmur against us?

8 Еще Моисей сказал: — Вот как вы узнаете, что это был Господь: этим вечером Он накормит вас мясом, а утром даст вам вдоволь хлеба. Он услышал ваш ропот на Него. Кто мы такие? Вы ропщете не на нас, а на Господа.

8 And Moses said, When the LORD shall give you in the evening meat to eat and in the morning bread to the full, then the LORD has heard your murmuring which you murmured against him; but as for us, what are we? Your murmurings are not against us but against the LORD.

9 Моисей сказал Аарону: — Скажи обществу израильскому: «Предстаньте пред Господом, потому что Он услышал ваш ропот».

9 And Moses said to Aaron, Say to all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD; for he has heard your murmurings.

10 Когда Аарон говорил с народом израильским, они повернулись к пустыне и увидели, как слава Господа явилась в облаке.

10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, they turned their faces toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

11 Господь сказал Моисею:

11 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying.

12 — Я услышал ропот израильтян. Скажи им: «К сумеркам вы будете есть мясо, а утром наедитесь хлеба. Тогда вы узнаете, что Я — Господь, ваш Бог».

12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel; say to them, At evening you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God.

13 В тот же вечер налетели перепела и накрыли лагерь, а утром вокруг лагеря легла роса.

13 And it came to pass that at evening the quails came up and covered the camp; and in the morning the dew lay round about the camp.

14 Когда роса сошла, на поверхности пустыни показались тонкие хлопья, похожие на иней.

14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a thin round crust, like the hoar frost on the ground.

15 Увидев их, израильтяне говорили друг другу: — Что это? Они не знали, что это такое. Моисей сказал им: — Это хлеб, который Господь дал вам в пищу.

15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, Manna-ho? (What is it?) For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat.

16 Господь повелел: «Пусть каждый собирает, сколько ему нужно. Берите по омеру на каждого члена семьи».

16 This is the thing which the LORD has commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; each man shall take it for those in his tent.

17 Израильтяне сделали так, как им сказали. Одни собрали больше, другие — меньше.

17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.

18 Но когда они измерили омером, то у того, кто собрал много, не было излишка, и у того, кто собрал мало, не было недостатка. Каждый собрал столько, сколько ему было нужно.

18 And when they measured it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

19 Моисей сказал им: — Пусть никто ничего не оставляет до утра.

19 And Moses said to them, Let no man leave of it till the morning.

20 Но некоторые не послушали Моисея и оставили часть до утра. В пище завелись черви, и она стала зловонной. Моисей разгневался на них.

20 Notwithstanding they listened not to Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms and stank; and Moses was angry with them.

21 Утром каждый собирал, сколько ему было нужно, а когда пригревало солнце, оно таяло.

21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating; and when the sun grew hot, it melted.

22 На шестой день они собрали в два раза больше — по два омера на человека — и вожди народа пришли и доложили об этом Моисею.

22 And it came to pass that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one person; and all the elders of the congregation came and told Moses.

23 Он сказал им: — Господь повелел: «Завтра — день покоя, святая суббота Господа. Испеките сейчас то, что хотите испечь, и сварите то, что хотите сварить. То, что останется, нужно отложить и сохранить до утра».

23 Moses said to them, This is what the LORD has said, Tomorrow is a day of holy rest, a sabbath to the LORD; bake that which you will bake today, and cook what you will cook; and that which is left over, keep it cold for yourselves until the morning.

24 Они сохранили это до утра, как повелел Моисей, и оно не начало портиться, и черви в нем не завелись.

24 So they left over some of it till the morning, as Moses had commanded them; and it did not stink, neither was there any worm in it.

25 — Ешьте это сегодня, — сказал Моисей, — потому что сегодня суббота Господня. Сегодня вы ничего не найдете на земле.

25 And Moses said to them, Eat it today; for today is a sabbath to the LORD; today you shall not find it in the field.

26 Вы будете собирать хлопья шесть дней, но на седьмой день, в субботу, ничего не будет.

26 Six days you shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

27 Некоторые из народа вышли собирать в седьмой день, но ничего не нашли.

27 And it came to pass that there went out some of the people on the seventh day to gather, and they found none.

28 Господь сказал Моисею: — Сколько еще вы будете нарушать Мои повеления и наставления?

28 And the LORD said to Moses, How long will you refuse to keep my commandments and my laws?

29 Запомните: Господь дал вам субботу, и поэтому в шестой день дает вам хлеб на два дня. Пусть в седьмой день каждый остается там, где он есть. Пусть никто не выходит из дома.

29 See, for the LORD has given you the sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day bread for two days; abide every man in his place; let no man go out of his house on the seventh day.

30 И в седьмой день народ пребывал в покое.

30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

31 Народ Израиля назвал эту пищу манной. Она была белой, как кориандровое семя, а на вкус — как медовое печенье.

33 Моисей сказал Аарону: — Возьми кувшин и наполни его омером манны. Поставь его перед Господом, чтобы сохранить для грядущих поколений.

33 And Moses said to Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it before the LORD, to be kept for your generations.

34 Как Господь повелел Моисею, Аарон поставил кувшин с манной перед ковчегом свидетельства, чтобы хранить.

34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up as a testimony, to be kept.

35 Израильтяне ели манну сорок лет, пока не пришли в заселенную землю. Они ели манну, пока не достигли рубежей Ханаана.

35 And the children of Israel did eat manna for forty years until they came to an inhabited land; they did eat manna until they reached the border of the land of Canaan.
