Chapter 10

1 THE LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2 Make two trumpets of silver; of casting work shall you make them, that you may use them for the calling of the assembly and for the journeying of the camps.

3 And when they shall blow with them, all the people shall assemble themselves to you at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

4 And if they blow but with one trumpet, the princes and the heads of the thousands of Israel shall gather themselves to you.

5 When they blow the trumpet, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.

6 And when they blow with the second trumpet, the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey; they shall blow a trumpet for their journeys.

7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not make a joyful noise.

8 And the sons of Aaron the priest shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

9 And if you go to war in your land against the enemies that oppress you, you shall blow with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and you shall be delivered from your enemies.

10 Also in the day of your gladness and in your solemn days and in the beginning of your months you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings, that they may be to you for a memorial before your God; I am the LORD your God.

11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the testimony.

12 And the children of Israel took their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

13 And they took their journey for the first time according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

14 In the first place went the standard of the camp of the children of Judah according to their armies; and over their host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

15 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethanael the son of Zuar.

16 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

17 And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward, carrying the tabernacle.

18 And then the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their armies; and over their host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

19 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelmuiel the son of Zurishaddai.

20 And over the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

21 Then the Kohathites set forward, carrying the sanctuary; and they set up the tabernacle before the people came.

22 And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies; and over their host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

23 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Perzur.

24 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

25 And the standard of the children of Dan set forward, which was at the end of all the camps throughout their hosts; and over the host of the tribe of the children of Dan was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

26 And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.

27 And over the host of the tribe of Naphtali was Ahida the son of Enan.

28 Thus was the order of the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their hosts.

29 And Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, We are journeying to the place of which the LORD said, I will give it to you. Come with us, and we will do you good; for the LORD has spoken good concerning Israel.

30 But he said to him, I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, where I was born.

31 And Moses said to him, Do not leave us, for you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you will serve as a guide for us.

32 And if you shall go with us, it shall be that whatever goodness the LORD shall do to us, the same will we do to you.

33 And they departed from the mount of God three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them a day's journey to prepare a resting place for them.

34 And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, Moses said, Arise, O LORD, and let them that hate thee be scattered; and let thy enemies flee before thee.

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, to the many thousands of Israel.

1 І Господь промовляв до Мойсея, говорячи:

2 „Зроби собі дві срібні сурмі́, — куттям зробиш їх; і будуть вони тобі на скли́кання громади та на руша́ння табо́рів.

3 І засурмля́ть у них, — і збереться до тебе громада при вході скинії зборів.

4 А якщо засурмлять в одну, то зберуться до тебе начальники, го́лови Ізраїлевих тисяч.

5 А засурмлять на споло́х, то ру́шать табо́ри, що табору́ють на сході.

6 А засурмите́ на споло́х удру́ге, то ру́шать табо́ри, що табору́ють на пі́вдні, — будуть сурмити на споло́х, щоб руша́ли вони.

7 А на скли́кання зборів засурмите, але без сполоху.

8 А сурми́ти в су́рми бу́дуть Ааронові сини, священики. І ці су́рмлення будуть для вас на вічну постанову для ваших поколінь.

9 А коли пі́дете війною в вашому Кра́ю́ на ворога, що гно́бить вас, і засурмите́ на сполох, то ви бу́дете згадані перед лицем Господа, Бога вашого, — і будете спасені від ваших ворогів.

10 А в день вашої радости, і в ваші свята та першого дня ваших місяців засурмите́ в ті су́рми на ваших цілопа́леннях та на мирних жертвах ваших, — і вони будуть вам на при́гад перед лицем вашого Бога. Я — Господь, Бог ваш!“

11 І сталося, другого року, другого місяця, дванадцятого дня місяця підняла́ся хмара з-над скинії свідо́цтва.

12 I рушили Ізраїлеві сини з Сінайської пустині на похо́ди свої, і хмара спинилася в пустині Паран.

13 І рушили вони вперше за Господнім нака́зом через Мойсея.

14 І найперш рушив пра́пор табо́ру синів Юдиних за своїми військо́вими відділами, а над військом його — Нахшон, син Аммінадавів.

15 А над ві́йськом пле́мени синів Іссахара — Натанаїл, син Цуарів.

16 А над військом племени Завулонових синів — Еліяв, син Хелонів.

17 І була розібрана скинія, і рушили Ґершонові сини та сини Мерарієві, носії́ скинії.

18 І рушив пра́пор табо́ру Рувима за своїми військо́вими відділами, а над військом його — Еліцур, син Шедеурів.

19 А над військом племени Симеонових синів — Шелуміїл, син Цурішаддаїв.

30 Та той відказав йому: „Не піду́, але піду́ до кра́ю свого та до місця своєї ба́тьківщини“.

31 А Мойсей відказав: „Не покидай нас, бо через те, що ти знаєш наше таборува́ння в пустині, то будеш нам очима.

32 І станеться, коли пі́деш із нами, то те добро, що Господь учинить нам, ми його вчи́нимо тобі“.

33 І рушили вони від Господньої гори триденною доро́гою. А ковче́г заповіту Господнього рушав перед ними триденною дорогою, щоб ви́відати для них місце спини́тися.

34 А хмара Господня була над ними вдень, коли вони рушали з табо́ру.

35 І бувало, коли ковчег вирушав, то Мойсей промовляв: „Устань же, о Господи, і хай розпоро́шаться Твої вороги́, і хай повтікають Твої ненави́сники з-перед Твойо́го лиця“.

36 А коли він ставав, то говорив: „Вернися, о Господи, до десятьтисячок тисяч Ізраїля!“

2 „Зроби собі дві срібні сурмі́, — куттям зробиш їх; і будуть вони тобі на скли́кання громади та на руша́ння табо́рів.

3 І засурмля́ть у них, — і збереться до тебе громада при вході скинії зборів.

4 А якщо засурмлять в одну, то зберуться до тебе начальники, го́лови Ізраїлевих тисяч.

5 When they blow the trumpet, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.

5 А засурмлять на споло́х, то ру́шать табо́ри, що табору́ють на сході.

6 And when they blow with the second trumpet, the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey; they shall blow a trumpet for their journeys.

6 А засурмите́ на споло́х удру́ге, то ру́шать табо́ри, що табору́ють на пі́вдні, — будуть сурмити на споло́х, щоб руша́ли вони.

7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not make a joyful noise.

7 А на скли́кання зборів засурмите, але без сполоху.

8 And the sons of Aaron the priest shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.

8 А сурми́ти в су́рми бу́дуть Ааронові сини, священики. І ці су́рмлення будуть для вас на вічну постанову для ваших поколінь.

9 And if you go to war in your land against the enemies that oppress you, you shall blow with the trumpets; and you shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and you shall be delivered from your enemies.

9 А коли пі́дете війною в вашому Кра́ю́ на ворога, що гно́бить вас, і засурмите́ на сполох, то ви бу́дете згадані перед лицем Господа, Бога вашого, — і будете спасені від ваших ворогів.

10 Also in the day of your gladness and in your solemn days and in the beginning of your months you shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings, that they may be to you for a memorial before your God; I am the LORD your God.

10 А в день вашої радости, і в ваші свята та першого дня ваших місяців засурмите́ в ті су́рми на ваших цілопа́леннях та на мирних жертвах ваших, — і вони будуть вам на при́гад перед лицем вашого Бога. Я — Господь, Бог ваш!“

11 And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the testimony.

11 І сталося, другого року, другого місяця, дванадцятого дня місяця підняла́ся хмара з-над скинії свідо́цтва.

12 And the children of Israel took their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

12 I рушили Ізраїлеві сини з Сінайської пустині на похо́ди свої, і хмара спинилася в пустині Паран.

13 And they took their journey for the first time according to the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

13 І рушили вони вперше за Господнім нака́зом через Мойсея.

30 But he said to him, I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, where I was born.

30 Та той відказав йому: „Не піду́, але піду́ до кра́ю свого та до місця своєї ба́тьківщини“.

31 And Moses said to him, Do not leave us, for you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you will serve as a guide for us.

31 А Мойсей відказав: „Не покидай нас, бо через те, що ти знаєш наше таборува́ння в пустині, то будеш нам очима.

32 And if you shall go with us, it shall be that whatever goodness the LORD shall do to us, the same will we do to you.

32 І станеться, коли пі́деш із нами, то те добро, що Господь учинить нам, ми його вчи́нимо тобі“.

33 І рушили вони від Господньої гори триденною доро́гою. А ковче́г заповіту Господнього рушав перед ними триденною дорогою, щоб ви́відати для них місце спини́тися.

34 And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp.

34 А хмара Господня була над ними вдень, коли вони рушали з табо́ру.

35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, Moses said, Arise, O LORD, and let them that hate thee be scattered; and let thy enemies flee before thee.

35 І бувало, коли ковчег вирушав, то Мойсей промовляв: „Устань же, о Господи, і хай розпоро́шаться Твої вороги́, і хай повтікають Твої ненави́сники з-перед Твойо́го лиця“.

36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, to the many thousands of Israel.

36 А коли він ставав, то говорив: „Вернися, о Господи, до десятьтисячок тисяч Ізраїля!“
