|
1 IF a man shall steal an ox or a ewe, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox and four ewes for a ewe. |
|
2 If a thief is found breaking into a house and is wounded so that he dies, there is no penalty for bloodshed. |
|
3 But if the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood penalty for him; and he should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. |
|
4 If the animal is found in his possession alive, whether it is an ox or an ass, or a ewe, he shall restore double. |
|
5 If a man shall cause a field or a vineyard to be eaten, and shall let his cattle loose to feed in another man's field, of the best of his own field and of the best of his own vineyard, he shall make restitution. |
|
6 If fire breaks out and catches in the thorns so that the shocks of grain or the standing wheat or the field is consumed, he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution. |
|
7 If a man shall deliver to his neighbor money or stuff to keep and it is stolen out of the man's house, if the thief is found, let him pay double. |
|
8 If the thief is not found, then the master of the house shall be brought to the judges to see whether he had a hand in the theft of his neighbor's goods. |
|
9 For all manner of trespass, whether it be for an ox for an ass for a lamb for clothing or for any manner of lost thing which another man claims to be his, the case of both parties shall come before the judges; and whomever the judges shall convict, he shall make two-fold restitution to his neighbor. |
|
10 If a man delivers to his neighbor an ass or an ox or a lamb or any kind of animal to keep; and it dies or is hurt or taken away in plunder and no man saw it; |
|
11 Then there shall be an oath of the LORD between them both, that he had no hand in the theft of his neighbor's property; and the owner of it shall accept the oaths and he shall not make restitution. |
|
12 But if it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to the owner thereof. |
|
13 If it is torn in pieces, then let him bring it as evidence, and he shall not make good that which was torn. |
|
14 And if a man borrow of his neighbor an animal, and it dies or it is injured, the owner thereof not being with it, he shall surely make restitution. |
|
15 But if the owner thereof is with it, he shall not make restitution; and if it was hired, it came for its hire. |
|
16 And if a man entices a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall surely marry her. |
|
17 If her father refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of a virgin. |
|
18 You shall not suffer a witch to live. |
|
19 Whoever lies with an animal shall surely be put to death. |
|
20 He who sacrifices to idols shall be utterly destroyed; but to the LORD alone shall he sacrifice. |
|
21 You shall neither harm a stranger nor oppress him; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. |
|
22 You shall not harm any widow or orphan. |
|
23 If you harm them, and they pray before me, I will surely hear their prayer; |
|
24 And my wrath shall kindle, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless. |
|
25 If you lend money to any of my people who are the poor among you, you shall not be to him as an usurer, neither shall you take any usury from him. |
|
26 If you at all take your neighbor's clothes as a pledge, you must give them back to him by sunset; |
|
27 For they are his only covering, it is his raiment for his body; with what shall he sleep? And if he prays before me, I will hear him; for I am compassionate. |
|
28 You shall not revile the judge nor curse the ruler of your people. |
|
29 You shall not delay to offer the first fruits of the harvest of your threshing floor, and of your wine press; the first-born of your sons you shall give to me. |
|
30 Likewise you shall do with your oxen and with your sheep: seven days it shall be with its dam; on the eighth day you shall give it to me. |
|
31 And you shall be holy men to me; neither shall you eat any flesh that has been torn by beasts in the field; you shall throw it to the dogs. |

2 Але як засвітило сонце над ним, то є на ньо́му прови́на крови. Злодій конче відшкодує, а якщо він нічого не має, то буде про́даний за свою краді́жку. |
|
3 Якщо та крадіжка справді буде зна́йдена в руці його живою, від вола аж до осла, до ягняти, то нехай відшкодує удвоє. |
|
4 Коли хто ви́пасе поле або виноградника, і пустить свою худобу й буде випаса́ти на чужому полі, відшкодує найліпшим із поля свого й найліпшим із свого виноградника. |
|
5 Коли вийде огонь і попаде на тернину, і буде спалена скирта, або збіжжя стояче, або поле, — конче відшкодує той, хто запалив пожежу. |
|
6 Коли хто дасть своє́му ближньому срібло або по́суд на збере́ження, а воно буде вкра́дене з дому того чоловіка, — якщо буде зна́йдений злодій, нехай відшкодує вдвоє. |
|
7 Якщо ж злодій не буде зна́йдений, то власник дому буде приведений до суддів, на присягу, що не простягав своєї руки на працю свого ближнього. |
|
8 У кожній справі провини, — про вола, про осла, про овечку, про одіж, про все згублене, про яке хто скаже, що це його, нехай справа обох при́йде до судді. Кого суддя визнає за винного, той відшкодує вдвоє своєму ближньому. |
|
9 Коли хто дасть своєму ближньому на збере́ження осла, або вола, або овечку, чи яку іншу худобину, а вона згине, або буде скалічена, або буде заграбована, і ніхто того не бачив, — |
|
10 прися́га Господня нехай буде між обома, що він не простяг своєї руки на власність свого ближнього, а власник її нехай забере, а позваний не буде відшкодо́вувати. |
|
11 А якщо справді буде вкрадена від нього, то нехай відшкодує власнико́ві її. |
|
12 Якщо дійсно буде розша́рпана вона, нехай принесе її як свідо́цтво, а за розша́рпане він не відшкодує. |
|
13 А коли хто позичить від свого ближнього худобину, а вона буде скалічена або згине, а власник її не був із нею, то конче відшкодує; |
|
14 якщо ж її власник був із нею, не відшкодує. А якщо худобина була найнята, то піде та шкода в заплату її. |
|
15 А коли хто підмо́вить дівчину, яка не зару́чена, і ляже з нею, то нехай дасть їй ві́но, і візьме її собі за жінку. |
|
16 Якщо батько її справді відмовить віддати її йому, — нехай відважить срібла згідно з віном дівочим. |
|
17 Чарівни́ці не зоставиш при житті. |
|
18 Кожен, хто зляжеться з худобиною, конче буде забитий. |
|
19 Кожен, хто прино́сить жертву богам, крім Бога Одного, підпадає закляттю. |
|
20 А прихо́дька не будеш утискати та гноби́ти його, бо й ви були прихо́дьками в єгипетськім кра́ї. |
|
21 Жодної вдови та сироти не будеш гноби́ти; |
|
22 якщо ж ти справді гноби́тимеш їх, то коли вони, кли́чучи, кли́катимуть до Мене, то конче почую їхній зойк, |
|
23 і розпалиться гнів Мій, і повбиваю вас мечем, і стануть жінки́ ваші вдо́вами, а діти ваші си́ротами. |
|
24 Якщо позичиш гроші народові Моєму, бідному, що з тобою, то не будь йому, як суворий позича́льник, — не покладеш на нього лихви. |
|
25 Якщо дійсно ві́зьмеш у заста́ву одежу ближнього свого, то вернеш її йому до за́ходу сонця, |
|
26 бо вона — єдине накриття́ його, вона одіж на тіло його; на чому він буде лежати? І станеться, коли буде він кликати до Мене, то почую, бо Я милосердний. |
|
27 Бога не будеш лихосло́вити, а начальника в народі твоїм не будеш проклинати. |
|
28 Не будеш спізнюватися, щодо жертов, із щедрістю збіжжя та з пли́нами твоїми. Перворідного з синів своїх даси́ Мені. |
|
29 Так зробиш волові своєму, і дрібній худобі своїй: сім день буде вона з своєю матір'ю, а восьмого дня даси її Мені. |
|
30 І ви будете Мені святими людьми, і не бу́дете їсти м'яса, розша́рпаного в полі, — псові кинете його! |
