AmosChapter 3 |

1 HEAR this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying, |
|
2 You only have I known of all the peoples and of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities. |
|
3 Will two men go on a journey together unless they have made an appointment? |
|
4 Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Or does a lion cry out of his den if he has taken no prey? |
|
5 Will a bird fall into a snare upon the earth without a hunter? Or can a trap spring up from the ground and catch the prey without being set? |
|
6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people be not afraid? Or shall there be misfortune in a city and the LORD has not done it? |
|
7 Surely the LORD God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets. |
|
8 The lion has roared, who will not fear? The LORD God has spoken, who can but prophesy? |
|
9 Proclaim it in the palaces of Ashdod and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountain of Samaria, and see the great tumults in the midst thereof and the oppression which is in it. |
|
10 For they do not know how to reprove, says the LORD, but they store up plunder and spoil in their palaces. |
|
11 Therefore thus says the LORD: A calamity shall surround the land; and its strength shall be brought down, and its palaces shall be spoiled. |
|
12 Thus says the LORD: As the shepherd takes out of the mouth of the lion two legs or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be delivered who dwell in Samaria, along with the people who dwell in Damascus, by a staff that strikes suddenly. |
|
13 Hear, and testify in the house of Jacob, says the LORD God, the God of hosts of Israel, |
|
14 That in the day that I punish the transgressions of Israel I will also punish the altars of Beth-el; and the horns of the altars shall be cut off and fall to the ground. |
|
15 And I will destroy the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and great houses shall be demolished, says the LORD. |

2 Тільки вас Я пізнав зо всіх ро́дів землі, тому вас навіщу́ за всі ваші провини! |
|
3 Чи йдуть двоє ра́зом, якщо не умо́вились? |
|
4 Чи реве́ в лісі лев, як нема йому здо́бичі? Чи левчу́к видає голос свій із своєї нори́, якщо він не зловив? |
|
5 Чи впаде́ на землі пташка в сітку, як немає сільця́? Чи піді́йметься сітка з землі, як нічого не зло́вить? |
|
6 Чи в місті засурмля́ть у сурму́, а наро́д не тремті́тиме? Чи станеться в місті нещастя, що його́ не Госпо́дь допусти́в? |
|
7 Бо не чинить нічо́го Господь Бог, не ви́явивши таємни́ці Своєї Своїм рабам пророкам. |
|
8 Лев зареве́, — хто того́ не злякається? Господь Бог заговорить, — хто пророкувати не бу́де? |
|
9 Розголосіть над пала́цами в Ашдоді, і над пала́тами в кра́ї єгипетському, та й скажіть: Позбирайтеся на гора́х Самарі́ї, і побачте велике збенте́ження в ній, та у́тиск у ній! |
|
10 І правдиво не вміють робити вони, — говорить Господь, — наси́льство грома́дять та грабу́нок в пала́тах своїх. |
|
11 Тому́ так Господь Бог промовляє: Ворог обля́же навколо цієї землі, і скине із тебе він силу твою́, і пограбо́вані бу́дуть пала́ти твої. |
|
12 Так говорить Господь: Як ча́сом рятує пастух з пащі ле́в'ячої дві колі́ні, або пи́пку вуха, так будуть врято́вані діти Ізраїлеві, що сидять в Самарі́ї в заку́точку ліжка, та на адама́шку постелі. |
|
13 Послухайте ви та й засві́дчіть ув Якововім домі, говорить Господь Бог, Бог Савао́т. |
|
14 Бо в той день, коли Я покараю Ізраїля за провини його, то Я покараю за же́ртівники Бет-Елу, — і будуть відру́бані роги же́ртівника, і на землю попа́дають. |
|
15 І Я розіб'ю́ дім зимо́вий разом з домом літнім, і заги́нуть доми́ із слоно́вої кости, і не стане багато домі́в, говорить Госпо́дь. |

12 Так говорить Господь: Як ча́сом рятує пастух з пащі ле́в'ячої дві колі́ні, або пи́пку вуха, так будуть врято́вані діти Ізраїлеві, що сидять в Самарі́ї в заку́точку ліжка, та на адама́шку постелі. |

13 Hear, and testify in the house of Jacob, says the LORD God, the God of hosts of Israel, |
13 Послухайте ви та й засві́дчіть ув Якововім домі, говорить Господь Бог, Бог Савао́т. |
|
14 That in the day that I punish the transgressions of Israel I will also punish the altars of Beth-el; and the horns of the altars shall be cut off and fall to the ground. |
14 Бо в той день, коли Я покараю Ізраїля за провини його, то Я покараю за же́ртівники Бет-Елу, — і будуть відру́бані роги же́ртівника, і на землю попа́дають. |

15 І Я розіб'ю́ дім зимо́вий разом з домом літнім, і заги́нуть доми́ із слоно́вої кости, і не стане багато домі́в, говорить Госпо́дь. |
