Chapter 9

1 I SAW the LORD standing over the altar; and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the thresholds may shake; and let their treachery be upon the heads of all of them, and I will slay those who are left of them with the sword; he that flees of them shall not escape, and he that is spared of them shall not be delivered.

2 Though they go down into Sheol, thence shall my hand bring them up; though they climb to heaven, thence will I bring them down;

3 And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out from there; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent and it shall bite them;

4 And though they go into captivity before their enemies, there I will command the sword, and it shall slay them; and I will set my eyes upon them for evil and not for good;

5 Says the LORD God of hosts, who touches the earth and it quakes, and all who dwell in it mourn; and the end shall rise up like a river, and shall recede like the river of Egypt:

6 It is he who has built his stories in heaven, and has made his possessions in the earth; who calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth; the LORD of hosts is his name.

7 Behold, you are like the Ethiopians to me, O children of Israel! says the LORD. Behold, I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt and the Philistines from Capadocia and the Arameans from Kir.

8 Behold, the eyes of the LORD God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; but I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, says the LORD.

9 For behold, I will command, and I will scatter the house of Israel among all nations as they sift wheat in a sieve, but not even the smallest grain of it shall fall upon the ground.

10 All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, who say, The evil shall not touch us nor overtake us.

11 In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen and close up its breaches, and I will raise up its ruins and I will build it as in the days of old, and as in the years of many generations.

12 For they shall possess the remnant of Edom, and all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the LORD who does these things.

13 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when the threshing floor shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that sows seed; and the mountains shall drop sweetness, and all the hills shall rejoice.

14 And I will bring back the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall build the ruined cities and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards and drink the wine thereof; they shall also plant gardens and eat the fruit of them.

15 And I will plant them upon their own land, and they shall no more be uprooted from the land which I have given them, says the LORD your God.

2 Хотя бы они зарылись2864 в преисподнюю,7585 и оттуда рука3027 Моя возьмет3947 их; хотя бы взошли5927 на небо,8064 и оттуда свергну3381 их.

3 И хотя бы они скрылись2244 на вершине7218 Кармила,3760 и там отыщу2664 и возьму3947 их; хотя бы сокрылись5641 от очей5869 Моих на дне7172 моря,3220 и там повелю6680 морскому змею5175 уязвить5391 их.

4 И если пойдут3212 в плен7628 впереди3942 врагов341 своих, то повелю6680 мечу2719 и там убить2026 их. Обращу7760 на них очи5869 Мои на беду7451 им, а не во благо.2896

5 Ибо Господь136 Бог3069 Саваоф6635 коснется5060 земли,776 — и она растает,4127 и восплачут56 все живущие3427 на ней; и поднимется5927 вся она как река,2975 и опустится8257 как река2975 Египетская.4714

6 Он устроил1129 горние4609 чертоги4609 Свои на небесах8064 и свод92 Свой утвердил3245 на земле,776 призывает7121 воды4325 морские,3220 и изливает8210 их по5921 лицу6440 земли;776 Господь3068 имя8034 Ему.

7 Не таковы ли, как сыны1121 Ефиоплян,3569 и вы для Меня, сыны1121 Израилевы?3478 говорит5002 Господь.3068 Не Я ли вывел5927 Израиля3478 из земли776 Египетской4714 и Филистимлян6430 — из Кафтора,3731 и Арамлян758 — из Кира?7024

8 Вот, очи5869 Господа136 Бога3069 — на грешное2403 царство,4467 и Я истреблю8045 его с лица6440 земли;127 но657 дом1004 Иакова3290 не совсем8045 истреблю,8045 говорит5002 Господь.3068

9 Ибо вот, Я повелю6680 и рассыплю5128 дом1004 Израилев3478 по всем народам,1471 как рассыпают5128 зерна6872 в решете,3531 и ни одно не падает5307 на землю.776

10 От меча2719 умрут4191 все грешники2400 из народа5971 Моего, которые говорят:559 «не постигнет5066 нас и не придет6923 к нам это бедствие!7451»

11 В тот день3117 Я восстановлю6965 скинию5521 Давидову1732 падшую,5307 заделаю1443 трещины6556 в ней и разрушенное2034 восстановлю,6965 и устрою1129 ее, как в дни3117 древние,5769

12 чтобы они овладели3423 остатком7611 Едома123 и всеми народами,1471 между которыми возвестится7121 имя8034 Мое, говорит5002 Господь,3068 творящий6213 все сие.

13 Вот, наступят935 дни,3117 говорит5002 Господь,3068 когда пахарь2790 застанет5066 еще жнеца,7114 а топчущий1869 виноград6025 — сеятеля;49002233 и горы2022 источать5197 будут5197 виноградный6071 сок,6071 и все холмы1389 потекут.4127

13 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when the threshing floor shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that sows seed; and the mountains shall drop sweetness, and all the hills shall rejoice.
