6 But we are1961 all3605 as an unclean2931thing, and all3605 our righteousnesses6666are as filthy5708 rags;899 and we all3605 do fade5034 as a leaf;5929 and our iniquities,5771 like the wind,7307 have taken us away.5375

1 О, если бы Ты разверз небеса и сошел, горы содрогнулись бы пред Тобою!
2 Как огонь зажигает хворост и вода на огне закипает, снизойди, Господи, дабы, познав имя Твое, затрепетали пред лицом Твоим враждующие с Тобой народы!
3 Когда свершал Ты грозное, нежданное — нисходил на землю — горы пред Тобой содрогались.
4 Знал ли кто издревле о подобном Тебе, видел ли кто и слыхал ли о другом, кроме Тебя, свершающем столь дивноеради уповающих на Него?
5 Ты являешь Себя тем, кто с радостью правду творит, о Тебе и путях Твоих помнит. Гневался Ты на нас, а мы во грехах пребывали. Спасемся ли?
6 Осквернились мы все, и праведность наша — точно запачканная одежда. Увяли мы, как листья, и несут нас пороки, как ветер.
7 Некому имя Твое призвать, подняться и крепко за Тебя ухватиться; скрыл Ты от нас Свой лик, и пропали мы в наших пороках.
8 Но ведь Ты же, ГОСПОДИ, — наш Отец! Мы ведь глина в Твоих руках, Ты — гончар, все мы — творение рук Твоих.
9 Не гневайся на нас, ГОСПОДИ, сверх меры! Не век же Тебе помнить беззакония наши. Взгляни: вот мы все, Твой народ!
10 Пустыней стали святые Твои города; опустошен Сион, Иерусалим разорен.
11 Храм наш святой и прекрасный, где предки наши хвалу Тебе возносили, огнем пожара уничтожен, погибло всё, что было нам желанно.
12 После этого, ГОСПОДИ, станешь ли медлить, будешь ли молчать и наказывать нас столь сурово?
