2 And said559 to them, You have kept8104 all3605 that Moses4872 the servant5650 of the LORD3068 commanded6680 you, and have obeyed8085 my voice6963 in all3605 that I commanded6680 you:

3 You have not left5800 your brothers251 these428 many7227 days3117 to this2088 day,3117 but have kept8104 the charge4931 of the commandment4687 of the LORD3068 your God.430

4 And now6258 the LORD3068 your God430 has given rest5117 to your brothers,251 as he promised1696 them: therefore now6258 return6437 you, and get3212 you to your tents,168 and to the land776 of your possession,272 which834 Moses4872 the servant5650 of the LORD3068 gave5414 you on the other5676 side5676 Jordan.3383

5 But take diligent3966 heed8104 to do6213 the commandment4687 and the law,8451 which834 Moses4872 the servant5650 of the LORD3068 charged6680 you, to love157 the LORD3068 your God,430 and to walk3212 in all3605 his ways,1870 and to keep8104 his commandments,4687 and to hold1692 to him, and to serve5647 him with all3605 your heart3824 and with all3605 your soul.5315

6 So Joshua3091 blessed1288 them, and sent7971 them away: and they went3212 to their tents.168

7 Now to the one half2677 of the tribe7626 of Manasseh4519 Moses4872 had given5414 possession in Bashan:1316 but to the other half2677 thereof gave5414 Joshua3091 among5973 their brothers251 on this side5676 Jordan3383 westward.3220 And when3588 Joshua3091 sent7971 them away also1571 to their tents,168 then he blessed1288 them,

8 And he spoke559 to them, saying,559 Return7725 with much7227 riches5233 to your tents,168 and with very3966 much7227 cattle,4735 with silver,3701 and with gold,2091 and with brass,5178 and with iron,1270 and with very3966 much7235 raiment:8008 divide2505 the spoil7998 of your enemies341 with your brothers.251

9 And the children1121 of Reuben7205 and the children1121 of Gad1410 and the half2677 tribe7626 of Manasseh4519 returned,7725 and departed3212 from the children1121 of Israel3478 out of Shiloh,7887 which834 is in the land776 of Canaan,3667 to go3212 to the country776 of Gilead,1568 to the land776 of their possession,272 whereof834 they were possessed,270 according5921 to the word6310 of the LORD3068 by the hand3027 of Moses.4872

10 And when they came935 to the borders1552 of Jordan,3383 that are in the land776 of Canaan,3667 the children1121 of Reuben7205 and the children1121 of Gad1410 and the half2677 tribe7626 of Manasseh4519 built1129 there8033 an altar4196 by Jordan,3383 a great1419 altar4196 to see4758 to.

13 And the children1121 of Israel3478 sent7971 to the children1121 of Reuben,7205 and to the children1121 of Gad,1410 and to the half2677 tribe7626 of Manasseh,4519 into413 the land776 of Gilead,1568 Phinehas6372 the son1121 of Eleazar499 the priest,3548

16 Thus3541 said559 the whole3605 congregation5712 of the LORD,3068 What4100 trespass4604 is this2088 that you have committed4603 against the God430 of Israel,3478 to turn7725 away this day3117 from following310 the LORD,3068 in that you have built1129 you an altar,4196 that you might rebel4775 this day3117 against the LORD?3068

17 Is the iniquity5771 of Peor6465 too little4592 for us, from which834 we are not cleansed2891 until5704 this2088 day,3117 although there was a plague5063 in the congregation5712 of the LORD,3068

18 But that you must turn7725 away this day3117 from following310 the LORD?3068 and it will be, seeing you rebel4775 to day3117 against the LORD,3068 that to morrow4279 he will be wroth7107 with the whole3605 congregation5712 of Israel.3478

19 Notwithstanding,389 if518 the land776 of your possession272 be unclean,2931 then pass5674 you over5674 to the land776 of the possession272 of the LORD,3068 wherein834 8033 the LORD's3068 tabernacle4908 dwells,7931 and take270 possession270 among8432 us: but rebel4775 not against the LORD,3068 nor408 rebel4775 against us, in building1129 you an altar4196 beside1107 the altar4196 of the LORD3068 our God.430

20 Did not Achan5912 the son1121 of Zerah2226 commit4603 a trespass4604 in the accursed2764 thing, and wrath7110 fell1961 on5921 all3605 the congregation5712 of Israel?3478 and that man376 perished1478 not alone259 in his iniquity.5771

21 Then the children1121 of Reuben7205 and the children1121 of Gad1410 and the half2677 tribe7626 of Manasseh4519 answered,6030 and said1696 to the heads7218 of the thousands505 of Israel,3478

22 The LORD3068 God410 of gods,430 the LORD3068 God410 of gods,430 he knows,3045 and Israel3478 he shall know;3045 if518 it be in rebellion,4777 or if518 in transgression4604 against the LORD,3068 (save3467 us not this2088 day,3117)

23 That we have built1129 us an altar4196 to turn7725 from following310 the LORD,3068 or if518 to offer5927 thereon5921 burnt5930 offering 4503or meat offering, or if518 to offer6213 peace8002 offerings2077 thereon,5921 let the LORD3068 himself require1245 it;

24 And if518 we have not rather done6213 it for fear1674 of this2063 thing,1697 saying,559 In time4279 to come4279 your children1121 might speak559 to our children,1121 saying,559 What4100 have you to do with the LORD3068 God430 of Israel?3478

25 For the LORD3068 has made5414 Jordan3383 a border1366 between996 us and you, you children1121 of Reuben7205 and children1121 of Gad;1410 you have no369 part2506 in the LORD:3068 so shall your children1121 make our children1121 cease7673 from fearing3372 the LORD.3068

26 Therefore we said,559 Let us now4994 prepare6213 to build1129 us an altar,4196 not for burnt5930 offering, nor3808 for sacrifice:2077

27 But that it may be a witness5707 between996 us, and you, and our generations1755 after310 us, that we might do5647 the service5656 of the LORD3068 before6440 him with our burnt5930 offerings, and with our sacrifices,2077 and with our peace8002 offerings; that your children1121 may not say559 to our children1121 in time4279 to come,4279 You have no369 part2506 in the LORD.3068

28 Therefore said559 we, that it shall be, when3588 they should so say559 to us or to our generations1755 in time4279 to come,4279 that we may say559 again, Behold7200 the pattern8403 of the altar4196 of the LORD,3068 which834 our fathers1 made,6213 not for burnt5930 offerings, nor3808 for sacrifices;2077 but it is a witness5707 between996 us and you.

29 God forbid2486 that we should rebel4775 against the LORD,3068 and turn7725 this day3117 from following310 the LORD,3068 to build1129 an altar4196 for burnt5930 offerings,4503 for meat offerings, or for sacrifices,2077 beside905 the altar4196 of the LORD3068 our God430 that is before6440 his tabernacle.4908

30 And when Phinehas6372 the priest,3548 and the princes5387 of the congregation5712 and heads7218 of the thousands505 of Israel3478 which834 were with him, heard8085 the words1697 that the children1121 of Reuben7205 and the children1121 of Gad1410 and the children1121 of Manasseh4519 spoke,1696 it pleased3190 5869 them.

31 And Phinehas6372 the son1121 of Eleazar499 the priest3548 said559 to the children1121 of Reuben,7205 and to the children1121 of Gad,1410 and to the children1121 of Manasseh,4519 This day3117 we perceive3045 that the LORD3068 is among8432 us, because834 you have not committed4603 this2088 trespass4604 against the LORD:3068 now227 you have delivered5337 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of the hand3027 of the LORD.3068

32 And Phinehas6372 the son1121 of Eleazar499 the priest,3548 and the princes,5387 returned7725 from the children1121 of Reuben,7205 and from the children1121 of Gad,1410 out of the land776 of Gilead,1568 to the land776 of Canaan,3667 to the children1121 of Israel,3478 and brought7725 them word1697 again.7725

33 And the thing1697 pleased3190 5869 the children1121 of Israel;3478 and the children1121 of Israel3478 blessed1288 God,430 and did not intend559 to go5927 up against5921 them in battle,6635 to destroy7843 the land776 wherein834 the children1121 of Reuben7205 and Gad1410 dwelled.3427

34 And the children1121 of Reuben7205 and the children1121 of Gad1410 called7121 the altar4196 Ed:5707 for it shall be a witness5707 between996 us that the LORD3068 is God.430

19 Если ваша земля не пригодна для поклонения Богу, то приходите в нашу землю, в шатёр Господа. Вы можете взять себе часть нашей земли и жить там. Но не отступайте от Господа, не ставьте другой жертвенник. У нас уже есть жертвенник Господа, Бога нашего, в шатре собрания.

20 Помните человека по имени Ахан, сына Зары. Он не послушался повеления о вещах, которые надлежало уничтожить. Один человек нарушил Божий закон, а наказан был весь народ Израиля. Ахан умер за свой грех, но умерло также и много других людей».

21 В ответ на это люди из колен Рувима, Гада и Манассии сказали:

22 «Господь — Бог наш! Господь — Бог наш! Господь знает, почему мы сделали это, и мы хотим, чтобы и вы тоже знали и могли судить о нашем поступке. Если вы считаете, что мы сделали что-либо против Господа или отказываемся следовать Его воле, то убейте нас.

23 Если мы нарушили закон Божий, тогда мы просим Самого Господа наказать нас.

24 Вы думаете, мы построили этот жертвенник для того, чтобы приносить жертвы всесожжения, хлебное приношение и жертвы содружества? Нет, не для этого мы воздвигли его. Мы боялись, что в будущем вы не примите нас как часть своего народа и что ваш народ скажет, что мы не можем молиться Господу, Богу Израиля.

25 Бог дал нам землю на другой стороне Иордана, а это значит, что река Иордан разделяет нас. Мы боялись, что, когда вырастут ваши дети и станут править вашей страной, они забудут о том, что и мы были вашим народом, и скажут нам: „Вы, народы Рувима и Гада, не являетесь частью Израиля!” И тогда ваши дети не допустят, чтобы наши дети чтили Господа.

26 И вот мы решили соорудить жертвенник, но не для приношения жертв и жертв всесожжения,

31 Тогда священник Финеес сказал: «Теперь мы знаем, что Господь пребывает с нами, и что вы не ослушались Господа, и Он не накажет народ Израиля».

32 После этого Финеес и вожди отправились домой. Они покинули народ Рувима и Гада на земле Галаада и вернулись в Ханаан. Они пришли к народу Израиля и рассказали им обо всём, что произошло.

19 Если ваша земля не пригодна для поклонения Богу, то приходите в нашу землю, в шатёр Господа. Вы можете взять себе часть нашей земли и жить там. Но не отступайте от Господа, не ставьте другой жертвенник. У нас уже есть жертвенник Господа, Бога нашего, в шатре собрания.

20 Помните человека по имени Ахан, сына Зары. Он не послушался повеления о вещах, которые надлежало уничтожить. Один человек нарушил Божий закон, а наказан был весь народ Израиля. Ахан умер за свой грех, но умерло также и много других людей».

22 «Господь — Бог наш! Господь — Бог наш! Господь знает, почему мы сделали это, и мы хотим, чтобы и вы тоже знали и могли судить о нашем поступке. Если вы считаете, что мы сделали что-либо против Господа или отказываемся следовать Его воле, то убейте нас.

24 Вы думаете, мы построили этот жертвенник для того, чтобы приносить жертвы всесожжения, хлебное приношение и жертвы содружества? Нет, не для этого мы воздвигли его. 25 Бог дал нам землю на другой стороне Иордана, а это значит, что река Иордан разделяет нас. 27 а чтобы показать нашему народу, что мы чтим того же Бога, что и вы. Этот жертвенник будет для вас, для нас и для всех наших будущих родов доказательством того, что мы служим Господу. Мы приносим свои жертвы, благодарения и жертвы всесожжения Господу. Мы хотим, чтобы ваши дети росли и знали, что мы, как и вы, тоже народ Израиля.

28 Therefore said559 we, that it shall be, when3588 they should so say559 to us or to our generations1755 in time4279 to come,4279 that we may say559 again, Behold7200 the pattern8403 of the altar4196 of the LORD,3068 which834 our fathers1 made,6213 not for burnt5930 offerings, nor3808 for sacrifices;2077 but it is a witness5707 between996 us and you.

28 В будущем, если случится так, что дети ваши скажут, что мы не принадлежим Израилю, наши дети смогут ответить: „Смотрите! Наши отцы, которые жили до нас, поставили жертвенник, и он точно такой же, как жертвенник Господа в священном шатре. Но мы не пользуемся этим алтарём для жертвоприношений. Он — доказательство того, что мы являемся частью Израиля”.

29 God forbid2486 that we should rebel4775 against the LORD,3068 and turn7725 this day3117 from following310 the LORD,3068 to build1129 an altar4196 for burnt5930 offerings,4503 for meat offerings, or for sacrifices,2077 beside905 the altar4196 of the LORD3068 our God430 that is before6440 his tabernacle.4908

30 And when Phinehas6372 the priest,3548 and the princes5387 of the congregation5712 and heads7218 of the thousands505 of Israel3478 which834 were with him, heard8085 the words1697 that the children1121 of Reuben7205 and the children1121 of Gad1410 and the children1121 of Manasseh4519 spoke,1696 it pleased3190 5869 them.

30 Священник Финеес и вожди, бывшие с ним, услышали всё, что сказали сыны колен Рувима, Гада и Манассии и поверили в то, что эти люди говорят правду.

31 And Phinehas6372 the son1121 of Eleazar499 the priest3548 said559 to the children1121 of Reuben,7205 and to the children1121 of Gad,1410 and to the children1121 of Manasseh,4519 This day3117 we perceive3045 that the LORD3068 is among8432 us, because834 you have not committed4603 this2088 trespass4604 against the LORD:3068 now227 you have delivered5337 the children1121 of Israel3478 out of the hand3027 of the LORD.3068

32 And Phinehas6372 the son1121 of Eleazar499 the priest,3548 and the princes,5387 returned7725 from the children1121 of Reuben,7205 and from the children1121 of Gad,1410 out of the land776 of Gilead,1568 to the land776 of Canaan,3667 to the children1121 of Israel,3478 and brought7725 them word1697 again.7725

32 После этого Финеес и вожди отправились домой. Они покинули народ Рувима и Гада на земле Галаада и вернулись в Ханаан. Они пришли к народу Израиля и рассказали им обо всём, что произошло.

33 And the thing1697 pleased3190 5869 the children1121 of Israel;3478 and the children1121 of Israel3478 blessed1288 God,430 and did not intend559 to go5927 up against5921 them in battle,6635 to destroy7843 the land776 wherein834 the children1121 of Reuben7205 and Gad1410 dwelled.3427

33 Тогда израильтяне тоже обрадовались и возблагодарили Бога, и решили не выступать войной против народа Рувима, Гада и Манассии и не уничтожать землю, на которой жили эти народы.

34 And the children1121 of Reuben7205 and the children1121 of Gad1410 called7121 the altar4196 Ed:5707 for it shall be a witness5707 between996 us that the LORD3068 is God.430

34 А народ Рувима и Гада дал жертвеннику имя. Они назвали его «Свидетельство нашей веры в Господа Бога».
