1 And all3605 the congregation5712 of the children1121 of Israel3478 journeyed5265 from the wilderness4057 of Sin,5512 after their journeys,4550 according5921 to the commandment6310 of the LORD,3068 and pitched2583 in Rephidim:7508 and there was no369 water4325 for the people5971 to drink.8354

2 Why the people5971 did chide7378 with Moses,4872 and said,559 Give5414 us water4325 that we may drink.8354 And Moses4872 said559 to them, Why4100 chide7378 you with me? why4100 do you tempt5254 the LORD?3068

3 And the people5971 thirsted6770 there8033 for water;4325 and the people5971 murmured3885 against5921 Moses,4872 and said,559 Why4100 is this2088 that you have brought5927 us up out of Egypt,4714 to kill4191 us and our children1121 and our cattle4735 with thirst?6772

4 And Moses4872 cried6817 to the LORD,3068 saying,559 What4100 shall I do6213 to this2088 people?5971 they be almost4592 ready5750 to stone5619 me.

5 And the LORD3068 said559 to Moses,4872 Go5674 on before6440 the people,5971 and take3947 with you of the elders2205 of Israel;3478 and your rod,4294 with which834 you smote5221 the river,2975 take3947 in your hand,3027 and go.1980

6 Behold,2005 I will stand5975 before6440 you there8033 on the rock6697 in Horeb;2722 and you shall smite5221 the rock,6697 and there shall come3318 water4325 out of it, that the people5971 may drink.8354 And Moses4872 did6213 so3651 in the sight5869 of the elders2205 of Israel.3478

7 And he called7121 the name8034 of the place4725 Massah,4532 and Meribah,4809 because5921 of the chiding7379 of the children1121 of Israel,3478 and because5921 they tempted5254 the LORD,3068 saying,559 Is the LORD3068 among7130 us, or not?

8 Then came935 Amalek,6002 and fought3898 with Israel3478 in Rephidim.7508

9 And Moses4872 said559 to Joshua,3091 Choose977 us out men,582 and go3318 out, fight3898 with Amalek:6002 to morrow4279 I will stand5324 on5921 the top7218 of the hill1389 with the rod4294 of God430 in my hand.3027

10 So Joshua3091 did6213 as Moses4872 had said559 to him, and fought3898 with Amalek:6002 and Moses,4872 Aaron,175 and Hur2354 went5927 up to the top7218 of the hill.1389

11 And it came1961 to pass, when834 Moses4872 held7311 up his hand,3027 that Israel3478 prevailed:1396 and when834 he let5117 down5117 his hand,3027 Amalek6002 prevailed.1396

12 But Moses 4872hands3027 were heavy;3515 and they took3947 a stone,68 and put7760 it under8478 him, and he sat3427 thereon;5921 and Aaron175 and Hur2354 stayed8551 up his hands,3027 the one2088 on the one2088 side, and the other259 on the other2088 side; and his hands3027 were steady530 until5704 the going935 down935 of the sun.8121

13 And Joshua3091 discomfited2522 Amalek6002 and his people5971 with the edge5310 of the sword.2719

14 And the LORD3068 said559 to Moses,4872 Write3789 this2063 for a memorial2146 in a book,5612 and rehearse7760 it in the ears241 of Joshua:3091 for I will utterly put4229 out the remembrance2143 of Amalek6002 from under8478 heaven.8064

15 And Moses4872 built1129 an altar,4196 and called7121 the name8034 of it Jehovahnissi:3071

16 For he said,559 Because3588 the LORD3068 has sworn3027 that the LORD3068 will have war4421 with Amalek6002 from generation1755 to generation.1755

3 Но народ страдал от жажды и роптал на Мусу. Они говорили: – Зачем ты вывел нас из Египта? Ты хочешь уморить нас, наших детей и скот жаждой?

4 Муса взмолился к Вечному: – Что мне делать с этим народом? Они готовы побить меня камнями.

5 Вечный ответил Мусе: – Возьми с собой несколько старейшин Исраила и пойди впереди народа. Возьми посох, которым ты ударил по Нилу, и иди.

6 Я встану перед тобой на скале в Хориве. Ударь по скале, из неё потечёт вода, и народ сможет утолить жажду. Муса сделал так на глазах у исраильских старейшин.

7 Он назвал то место Масса («искушение») и Мерива («ссора»), потому что исраильтяне ссорились и искушали Вечного, говоря: «С нами Вечный или нет?»

8 Амаликитяне пришли и напали на исраильтян в Рефидиме.

9 Муса сказал Иешуа: – Выбери несколько человек из народа и выйди сразиться с амаликитянами. Завтра я встану на вершине холма с посохом Всевышнего в руках.

10 Иешуа вступил в сражение с амаликитянами, как повелел Муса, а Муса, Харун и Хур поднялись на вершину холма.

11 Когда Муса поднимал руки, исраильтяне побеждали, но едва он уставал и опускал руки, побеждали амаликитяне. Тогда Харун и Хур взяли камень, подвинули его к Мусе и он сел. Они поддерживали его руки – один с одной стороны, другой с другой, – и руки до заката остались тверды.

13 Так Иешуа разбил войско амаликитян.

14 Вечный сказал Мусе: – Запиши, чтобы помнили, в свиток и прочитай Иешуа, что Я совершенно изглажу память об Амалике из-под небес.

15 Муса воздвиг жертвенник и назвал его «Вечный – моё знамя». .

16 Муса сказал: – Мои руки были воздеты к престолу Вечного. Вечный будет воевать против амаликитян из поколения в поколение.

6 Я встану перед тобой на скале в Хориве. Ударь по скале, из неё потечёт вода, и народ сможет утолить жажду. Муса сделал так на глазах у исраильских старейшин.
