2 And Balak1111 the son1121 of Zippor6834 saw7200 all3605 that Israel3478 had done6213 to the Amorites.567

2 Und1111 da Balak, der Sohn1121 Zipors, sah7200 alles, was Israel3478 getan hatte6213 den Amoritern567,

|
3 And Moab4124 was sore3966 afraid1481 of the people,5971 because3588 they were many:7227 and Moab4124 was distressed6973 because3588 of the children1121 of Israel.3478

3 und daß sich1481 die Moabiter4124 sehr3966 fürchteten vor6440 dem Volk5971, das so groß7227 war, und daß den Moabitern4124 grauete vor6440 den Kindern1121 Israel3478,

4 And Moab4124 said559 to the elders2205 of Midian,4080 Now6258 shall this company6951 lick3897 up all3605 that are round5439 about us, as the ox7794 licks3897 up the grass3418 of the field.7704 And Balak1111 the son1121 of Zippor6834 was king4428 of the Moabites4124 at that time.6256

4 und1111 sprachen559 zu den Ältesten2205 der Midianiter4080: Nun wird dieser Haufe6951 auffretzen, was um5439 uns ist, wie4124 ein Ochse7794 Kraut3418 auf dem Felde7704 auffretzet. Balak aber, der Sohn1121 Zipors, war zu der Zeit6256 König4428 der Moabiter4124.

5 He sent7971 messengers4397 therefore to Balaam1109 the son1121 of Beor1160 to Pethor,6604 which834 is by the river5104 of the land776 of the children1121 of his people,5971 to call7121 him, saying,559 Behold,2009 there is a people5971 come3318 out from Egypt:4714 behold,2009 they cover3680 the face5869 of the earth,776 and they abide3427 over against4136 me:

5 Und er sandte Boten4397 aus3318 zu Bileam1109, dem Sohn1121 Beors1160, gen Pethor6604, der wohnete an dem Wasser5104 im Lande der Kinder1121 seines Volks5971, daß sie ihn5869 forderten7121, und ließ7971 ihm sagen559: Siehe, es ist ein Volk5971 aus Ägypten4714 gezogen, das776 bedeckt3680 das Angesicht der Erde776 und liegt3427 gegen mir.

6 Come3212 now6258 therefore, I pray4994 you, curse779 me this2088 people;5971 for they are too mighty6099 for me: peradventure194 I shall prevail,3201 that we may smite5221 them, and that I may drive1644 them out of the land:776 for I know3045 that he whom834 you bless1288 is blessed,1288 and he whom834 you curse779 is cursed.779

6 So komm3212 nun und verfluche779 mir das776 Volk5971, denn es ist1644 mir zu mächtig6099, ob ich‘s schlagen5221 möchte3201 und aus dem779 Lande vertreiben; denn ich weiß3045, daß, welchen du segnest1288, der ist gesegnet1288, und welchen du verfluchest, der ist verflucht779.

7 And the elders2205 of Moab4124 and the elders2205 of Midian4080 departed3212 with the rewards of divination7081 in their hand;3027 and they came935 to Balaam,1109 and spoke1696 to him the words1697 of Balak.1111

7 Und die Ältesten2205 der Moabiter4124 gingen3212 hin mit1697 den Ältesten2205 der Midianiter4080 und hatten den Lohn des Wahrsagens in ihren Händen3027; und gingen935 zu Bileam1109 ein und sagten ihm die Worte1696 Balaks1111.

8 And he said559 to them, Lodge3885 here6311 this night,3915 and I will bring7725 you word1697 again,7725 as the LORD3068 shall speak1696 to me: and the princes8269 of Moab4124 stayed3427 with Balaam.1109

8 Und er sprach559 zu ihnen: Bleibet3427 hie über Nacht3885, so will7725 ich euch wieder7725 sagen1697, wie mir der HErr3068 sagen wird1696. Also blieben die Fürsten8269 der Moabiter4124 bei Bileam1109.

9 And God430 came935 to Balaam,1109 and said,559 What4310 men582 are these428 with you?

9 Und GOtt430 kam935 zu Bileam1109 und sprach559: Wer sind die Leute582, die bei dir sind?
|
|
10 And Balaam1109 said559 to God,430 Balak1111 the son1121 of Zippor,6834 king4428 of Moab,4124 has sent7971 to me, saying,

10 Bileam1109 sprach559 zu GOtt430: Balak1111, der Sohn1121 Zipors, der Moabiter4124 König4428, hat zu mir gesandt7971:
|
|
11 Behold,2009 there is a people5971 come3318 out of Egypt,4714 which covers3680 the face5869 of the earth:776 come3212 now,6258 curse6895 me them; peradventure194 I shall be able3201 to overcome3898 them, and drive1644 them out.
|
11 Siehe, ein Volk5971 ist1644 aus3318 Ägypten4714 gezogen und bedeckt3680 das Angesicht5869 der Erde776; so komm3212 nun und fluche6895 ihm, ob ich mit ihm streiten3898 möge3201 und sie vertreiben.

12 And God430 said559 to Balaam,1109 You shall not go3212 with them; you shall not curse779 the people:5971 for they are blessed.1288
|
12 GOtt430 aber sprach559 zu Bileam1109: Gehe3212 nicht mit ihnen; verfluche779 das Volk5971 auch nicht; denn es ist gesegnet1288.
|
|
13 And Balaam1109 rose6965 up in the morning,1242 and said559 to the princes8269 of Balak,1111 Get3212 you into413 your land:776 for the LORD3068 refuses3985 to give5414 me leave5414 to go1980 with you.

13 Da stund Bileam1109 des Morgens1242 auf6965 und5414 sprach559 zu den Fürsten8269 Balaks1111: Gehet hin3212 in euer Land776; denn der HErr3068 will‘s nicht3985 gestatten, daß ich mit euch ziehe1980.
|
|
14 And the princes8269 of Moab4124 rose6965 up, and they went935 to Balak,1111 and said,559 Balaam1109 refuses3985 to come1980 with us.
|
14 Und1111 die Fürsten8269 der Moabiter4124 machten sich3985 auf6965, kamen935 zu Balak und sprachen559: Bileam1109 weigert sich, mit uns zu ziehen1980.
|
|
15 And Balak1111 sent7971 yet5750 again3254 princes,8269 more,7227 and more honorable3513 than they.
|
15 Da sandte7971 Balak noch3254 größere7227 und1111 herrlichere3513 Fürsten8269, denn jene waren.
|
|
16 And they came935 to Balaam,1109 and said559 to him, Thus3541 said559 Balak1111 the son1121 of Zippor,6834 Let nothing,408 I pray4994 you, hinder4513 you from coming1980 to me:

16 Da die zu Bileam1109 kamen935, sprachen559 sie zu ihm1111: Also läßt dir sagen559 Balak, der Sohn1121 Zipors: Lieber, wehre dich4513 nicht, zu mir zu ziehen1980;

17 For I will promote3513 you to very3966 great honor,3513 and I will do6213 whatever3605 834 you say559 to me: come3212 therefore, I pray4994 you, curse6895 me this2088 people.5971
|
17 denn ich will3513 dich hoch3966 ehren3513, und was du559 mir sagest, das will3513 ich tun6213. Lieber, komm3212 und fluche6895 mir diesem Volk5971!
|
|
18 And Balaam1109 answered6030 and said559 to the servants5650 of Balak,1111 If518 Balak1111 would give5414 me his house1004 full4393 of silver3701 and gold,2091 I cannot3808 3201 go5674 beyond5674 the word6310 of the LORD3068 my God,430 to do6213 less6996 or176 more.1419

18 Bileam1109 antwortete6030 und5650 sprach559 zu6213 den Dienern Balaks1111: Wenn mir Balak sein Haus1004 voll4393 Silbers3701 und1111 Goldes2091 gäbe5414, so könnte ich3201 doch nicht übergehen das Wort6310 des HErrn3068, meines Gottes430, Kleines6996 oder Großes1419 zu tun5674.

19 Now6258 therefore, I pray4994 you, tarry3427 you also1571 here2088 this night,3915 that I may know3045 what4100 the LORD3068 will say1696 to me more.3254
|
19 So bleibet doch nun hie auch ihr3427 diese Nacht3915, daß ich erfahre3045, was der HErr3068 weiter3254 mit mir reden1696 werde.
|
|
20 And God430 came935 to Balaam1109 at night,3915 and said559 to him, If518 the men582 come935 to call7121 you, rise6965 up, and go3212 with them; but yet389 the word1697 which834 I shall say1696 to you, that shall you do.6213
|
20 Da kam935 GOtt430 des Nachts3915 zu6213 Bileam1109 und sprach559 zu ihm: Sind die Männer582 kommen, dir zu rufen, so mach dich3212 auf6965 und zeuch mit1697 ihnen; doch389 was ich7121 dir sagen werde, sollst1696 du tun935.

21 And Balaam1109 rose6965 up in the morning,1242 and saddled2280 his ass,860 and went3212 with the princes8269 of Moab.4124

21 Da stund Bileam1109 des Morgens1242 auf6965 und sattelte2280 seine Eselin860 und zog3212 mit den Fürsten8269 der Moabiter4124.
|
|
22 And God's430 anger639 was kindled2734 because3588 he went:1980 and the angel4397 of the LORD3068 stood3320 in the way1870 for an adversary7854 against him. Now he was riding7392 on his ass,860 and his two8147 servants5288 were with him.
|
22 Aber2734 der Zorn639 Gottes430 ergrimmete, daß er hinzog1980. Und der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 trat3320 in den Weg1870, daß er ihm widerstünde7854. Er aber ritt7392 auf seiner Eselin860, und zween Knaben5288 waren mit ihm.

23 And the ass860 saw7200 the angel4397 of the LORD3068 standing5324 in the way,1870 and his sword2719 drawn8025 in his hand:3027 and the ass860 turned5186 aside5186 out of the way,1870 and went3212 into the field:7704 and Balaam1109 smote5221 the ass,860 to turn5186 her into the way.1870

23 Und die Eselin860 sah7200 den Engel4397 des HErrn3068 im Wege1870 stehen5324 und ein bloß Schwert2719 in seiner Hand3027. Und die Eselin860 wich5186 aus8025 dem Wege1870 und ging auf5186 dem Felde7704; Bileam1109 aber schlug5221 sie, daß sie in den Weg1870 sollte gehen3212.

24 But the angel4397 of the LORD3068 stood5975 in a path4934 of the vineyards,3754 a wall1447 being on5921 this2088 side, and a wall1447 on5921 that side.
|
24 Da trat der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 in den Pfad4934 bei den Weinbergen3754, da auf5975 beiden Seiten Wände1447 waren.
|
|
25 And when the ass860 saw7200 the angel4397 of the LORD,3068 she thrust3905 herself to the wall,7023 and crushed3905 Balaam's1109 foot7272 against413 the wall:7023 and he smote5221 her again.3254
|
25 Und da die Eselin860 den Engel4397 des HErrn3068 sah7200, drängte sie3905 sich3905 an die Wand7023 und klemmete Bileam1109 den Fuß an der Wand7023; und er schlug5221 sie7272 noch3254 mehr.

|
26 And the angel4397 of the LORD3068 went5674 further,3254 and stood5975 in a narrow6862 place,4725 where834 was no369 way1870 to turn5186 either to the right3225 hand3325 or to the left.8040
|
26 Da ging5674 der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 weiter und trat5975 an einen engen6862 Ort4725, da kein Weg1870 war zu weichen5186, weder zur Rechten3225 noch3254 zur Linken8040.
|
|
27 And when the ass860 saw7200 the angel4397 of the LORD,3068 she fell7257 down7257 under8478 Balaam:1109 and Balaam's1109 anger639 was kindled,2734 and he smote5221 the ass860 with a staff.4731
|
27 Und da die Eselin860 den Engel4397 des HErrn3068 sah7200, fiel sie auf ihre Kniee unter dem Bileam1109. Da ergrimmete der Zorn639 Bileams1109 und schlug5221 die Eselin860 mit dem Stabe4731.
|
|
28 And the LORD3068 opened6605 the mouth6310 of the ass,860 and she said559 to Balaam,1109 What4100 have I done6213 to you, that you have smitten5221 me these2088 three7969 times?
|
28 Da tat6605 der HErr3068 der Eselin860 den Mund6310 auf, und sie7272 sprach559 zu Bileam1109: Was habe ich dir getan6213, daß du5221 mich geschlagen hast nun dreimal7969?
|
|
29 And Balaam1109 said559 to the ass,860 Because3588 you have mocked5953 me: I would3863 there were a sword2719 in my hand,3027 for now6258 would I kill2026 you.
|
29 Bileam1109 sprach559 zur Eselin860: Daß3863 du mich höhnest5953! Ach, daß ich jetzt ein Schwert2719 in der Hand3027 hätte3426, ich wollte dich erwürgen2026!
|
|
30 And the ass860 said559 to Balaam,1109 Am not I your ass,860 on which834 you have ridden7392 ever5750 since5750 I was your to this2088 day?3117 was I ever wont5532 to do6213 so to you? And he said,559 No.3808
|
30 Die Eselin860 sprach559 zu7392 Bileam1109: Bin ich nicht deine Eselin860, darauf du geritten hast zu deiner Zeit bis auf diesen Tag3117? Habe6213 ich auch je5532 gepflegt, dir also zu tun? Er sprach559: Nein.

31 Then the LORD3068 opened1540 the eyes5869 of Balaam,1109 and he saw7200 the angel4397 of the LORD3068 standing5324 in the way,1870 and his sword2719 drawn8025 in his hand:3027 and he bowed6915 down6915 his head, and fell7812 flat on5921 his face.639

31 Da öffnete1540 der HErr3068 Bileam1109 die Augen5869, daß er den Engel4397 des HErrn3068 sah7200 im Wege1870 stehen5324 und ein bloß Schwert2719 in seiner Hand3027; und neigete und bückte sich7812 mit seinem Angesicht639.
|

32 And the angel4397 of the LORD3068 said559 to him, Why4100 have you smitten5221 your ass860 these2088 three7969 times? behold,2009 I went3318 out to withstand7854 you, because3588 your way1870 is perverse3399 before5048 me:
|
32 Und der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 sprach559 zu ihm: Warum hast du5221 deine Eselin860 geschlagen nun dreimal7969? Siehe, ich bin ausgegangen3318, daß ich dir widerstehe7854; denn der Weg1870 ist7272 vor mir verkehrt3399.

33 And the ass860 saw7200 me, and turned5186 from me these2088 three7969 times: unless194 she had turned5186 from me, surely3588 now6258 also1571 I had slain2026 you, and saved2421 her alive.2421
|
33 Und die Eselin860 hat5186 mich6440 gesehen7200 und ist7272 mir6440 dreimal7969 gewichen; sonst, wo sie5186 nicht194 vor mir gewichen wäre, so wollte ich dich auch jetzt erwürget2026 und die Eselin lebendig2421 behalten haben.

34 And Balaam1109 said559 to the angel4397 of the LORD,3068 I have sinned;2398 for I knew3045 not that you stood5324 in the way1870 against7125 me: now6258 therefore, if518 it displease7489 5869 you, I will get me back7725 again.7725

34 Da sprach559 Bileam1109 zu dem Engel4397 des HErrn3068: Ich habe2398 gesündiget; denn ich hab‘s nicht gewußt3045, daß du7489 mir entgegenstundest im Wege1870; und5324 nun, so dir‘s nicht gefällt5869, will ich wieder7725 umkehren.

35 And the angel4397 of the LORD3068 said559 to Balaam,1109 Go3212 with the men:582 but only the word1697 that I shall speak1696 to you, that you shall speak.1696 So Balaam1109 went3212 with the princes8269 of Balak.1111

35 Der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 sprach559 zu ihm1109: Zeuch hin3212 mit den Männern582; aber nichts1697 anderes657, denn was ich zu dir sagen werde, sollst1696 du reden1696. Also zog3212 Bileam1109 mit den Fürsten8269 Balaks1111.

36 And when Balak1111 heard8085 that Balaam1109 was come,935 he went3318 out to meet7125 him to a city5892 of Moab,4124 which834 is in the border1366 of Arnon,769 which834 is in the utmost7097 coast.1366
|
36 Da1366 Balak hörete, daß Bileam1109 kam8085, zog er aus3318 ihm1111 entgegen7125 in die Stadt5892 der Moabiter4124, die da liegt an der Grenze1366 Arnons, welcher ist935 an der äußersten Grenze7097.

|
37 And Balak1111 said559 to Balaam,1109 Did I not earnestly send7971 to you to call7121 you? why4100 came1980 you not to me? am I not able3201 indeed552 to promote3513 you to honor?3513
|
37 Und1111 sprach559 zu1980 ihm1109: Habe3513 ich3201 nicht zu dir gesandt7971 und dich fordern lassen7971? Warum bist7121 du denn nicht zu mir kommen? Meinest du, ich könnte nicht dich ehren552?

38 And Balaam1109 said559 to Balak,1111 See,2009 I am come935 to you: have I now6258 any power3201 at all to say1696 any thing?3972 the word1697 that God430 puts7760 in my mouth,6310 that shall I speak.1696
|
38 Bileam1109 antwortete559 ihm1111: Siehe, ich3201 bin kommen935 zu dir; aber wie kann3201 ich etwas3972 anderes reden1696? Denn das1697 mir GOtt430 in den Mund6310 gibt7760, das muß ich reden1696.

|
39 And Balaam1109 went3212 with Balak,1111 and they came935 to Kirjathhuzoth.7155
|
39 Also zog3212 Bileam1109 mit Balak, und1111 kamen935 in die Gassenstadt.
|
|
40 And Balak1111 offered2076 oxen1241 and sheep,6629 and sent7971 to Balaam,1109 and to the princes8269 that were with him.
|
40 Und1111 Balak opferte2076 Rinder1241 und Schafe6629 und sandte7971 nach Bileam1109 und nach den Fürsten8269, die bei ihm waren.
|
|
41 And it came1961 to pass on5921 the morrow,1242 that Balak1111 took3947 Balaam,1109 and brought5927 him up into the high1116 places of Baal,1168 that there8033 he might see7200 the utmost7097 part of the people.5971
|
41 Und1111 des Morgens1242 nahm3947 Balak den Bileam1109 und führete ihn hin auf5927 die Höhe1116 Baal, daß er von dannen sehen7200 konnte bis zu Ende7097 des Volks5971.
