Розділ 21

1 А коли вони набли́зились до Єрусалиму, і прийшли до Вітфагі́ї, до гори до Оли́вної, тоді Ісус вислав двох учнів,

2 до них, кажучи: „Ідіть у село, яке перед вами, і зна́йдете зараз ослицю прив'язану та з нею осля́; відв'яжіть, і Мені приведіть їх.

3 А як хто вам що́ скаже, відкажіть, що їх потребує Госпо́дь, — і він зараз пошле їх“.

4 А це сталось, щоб спра́вдилось те, що сказав був пророк, промовляючи:

5 „Скажіте Сіонській доньці́: Ось до тебе йде Цар твій! Він покі́рливий, і всів на осла, — на осля, під'яре́мної сина“.

6 А учні пішли та й зробили, як звелів їм Ісус.

7 Вони привели́ до Ісуса ослицю й осля́, і одежу поклали на них, — і Він сів на них.

8 І багато народу стелили одежу свою по дорозі, інші ж різали віття з дерев і стели́ли дорогою.

9 А наро́д, що йшов перед Ним і поза́ду, викрикував, кажучи: „Оса́нна Сину Давидовому! Благословенний, хто йде у Господнє Ім'я́! Осанна на висоті!“

10 А коли увійшов Він до Єрусалиму, то здвигнулося ціле місто, питаючи: „Хто́ це такий?“

11 А наро́д говорив: „Це Пророк, — Ісус із Назаре́ту Галілейського!“

12 Потому Ісус увійшов у храм Божий, і вигнав усіх продавців і покупців у храмі, і попереверта́в грошомінам столи, та осло́ни — продавцям голубів.

13 І сказав їм: „Написано: „Дім Мій — буде домом молитви,“ а ви робите з нього „печеру розбійників“.

14 I приступили у храмі до Нього сліпі та криві, — і Він їх уздоро́вив.

15 А первосвященики й книжники, бачивши чуда, що Він учинив, і дітей, що в храмі викрикували: „Осанна Сину Давидовому“, обурилися,

16 та й сказали Йому: „Чи ти чуєш, що кажуть вони?“ А Ісус відказав їм: „Так. Чи ж ви не читали нікол́и: „Із уст немовлят, і тих, що ссуть, учинив Ти хвалу"?

17 І покинувши їх, Він вийшов за місто в Віфа́нію, — і там ніч перебув.

18 А вранці, до міста вертаючись, Він зголоднів.

19 І побачив Він при дорозі одне фі́ґове дерево, і до нього прийшов, та нічого, крім листя само́го, на нім не знайшов. І до нього Він каже: „Нехай пло́ду із тебе не буде ніко́ли повіки!“ І фіґове дерево зараз усохло.

20 А учні, побачивши це, дивувалися та говорили: „Як швидко всохло це фіґове дерево!“

21 Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: „Поправді кажу́ вам: Коли б мали ви віру, і не мали су́мніву, то вчинили б не тільки як із фіговим деревом, а якби й цій горі ви сказали: „Порушся та кинься до моря“, — то й станеться те!

22 І все, чого ви в молитві попросите з вірою, — то одержите“.

23 А коли Він прийшов у храм і навчав, поприхо́дили первосвященики й старші наро́ду до Нього й сказали: „Якою Ти вла́дою чиниш оце? І хто Тобі вла́ду цю дав?“

24 Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: „Запитаю й Я вас одне слово. Як про нього дасте Мені відповідь, то й Я вам скажу́, якою вла́дою Я це чиню́.

25 Іванове хрищення звідки було: із неба, чи від людей?“ Вони ж міркували собі й говорили: „Коли скажемо: „Із неба“, відкаже Він нам: „Чого ж ви йому не повірили?“

26 А як скажемо: „Від людей“, — боїмося наро́ду, бо Івана вважають усі за пророка“.

27 І сказали Ісусові в відповідь: „Ми не знаємо“. Відказав їм і Він: „То й Я вам не скажу́, якою владою Я це чиню́.

28 А як вам здається? Один чоловік мав двох синів. Прийшовши до першого, він сказав: „Піди но, дитино, сьогодні, працюй у винограднику!“

29 А той відповів і сказав: „Готовий, панотче“, — і не пішов.

30 І, прийшовши до другого, так само сказав. А той відповів і сказав: „Я не хочу“. А потім покаявся, і пішов.

31 Котрий же з двох учинив волю батькову?“ Вони кажуть: „Останній“. Ісус промовляє до них: „Поправді кажу вам, що ми́тники та блудоді́йки випере́джують вас у Боже Царство.

32 Бо прийшов був до вас дорогою праведности Іван, та йому не повірили ви, а ми́тники та блудоді́йки йняли йому віри. А ви бачили, та проте не покаялися й опісля́, щоб повірити йому.

33 Послухайте іншої притчі. Був госпо́дар один. Насадив виноградника він, обгородив його муром, ви́довбав у ньому чави́ло, башту поставив, — і віддав його винаря́м, та й пішов.

34 Коли ж надійшов час плоді́в, він до винарів послав рабів своїх, щоб прийняти плоди́ свої.

35 Винарі ж рабів його похапали, — і одно́го побили, а другого замордували, а того вкаменува́ли.

36 Знов послав він інших рабів, більш як перше, — та й їм учинили те саме.

37 Нарешті послав до них сина свого́ і сказав: „Посоро́мляться сина мого“.

38 Але́ винарі́, як побачили сина, міркувати собі стали: „Це спадкоє́мець; ходім, замордуймо його, — і заберемо його спа́дщину!“

39 І, схопи́вши його, вони вивели за виноградник його, та й убили.

40 Отож, як прибу́де той пан виноградника, що́ зробить він тим винаря́м?“

41 Вони кажуть Йому: „Злочинців погубить жорсто́ко, виноградника ж віддасть іншим винаря́м, що будуть плоди́ віддавати йому своєча́сно“.

42 Ісус промовляє до них: „Чи ви не читали ніко́ли в Писа́нні: Камінь, що його будівничі відкинули, — той наріжним став каменем; від Господа сталося це, і дивне воно в очах наших!“

43 Тому́ кажу вам, що від вас Царство Боже відійметься, і дасться наро́дові, що плоди́ його буде прино́сити.

44 І хто впаде́ на цей камінь — розі́б'ється, а на кого він сам упаде — то розча́вить його́“.

45 А як первосвященики та фарисеї почули ці притчі Його, то вони зрозуміли, що про них Він гово́рить.

46 І намага́лись схопи́ти Його, але́ побоялись людей, бо вважали Його за Пророка.

Matthew

Chapter 21

1 WHEN he came near to Jerusalem, he came to Bethphage on the side of the Mount of Olives. Jesus then sent two of his disciples,

2 And he said to them, Go to that village which is in front of you, and straightway you will find an ass which is tied up, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me.

3 And if any man should say anything to you, tell him that our Lord needs them; and he will immediately send them here.

4 All this happened, so that what was said by the prophet, might be fulfilled, who said,

5 Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold your king is coming to you, meek, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass.

6 And the disciples went and did as Jesus had commanded them.

7 And they brought the ass and the colt, and they put their garments on the colt, and Jesus rode on it.

8 And a great many people spread their garments on the road; and others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

9 And the people who were going before him and coming after him, were shouting and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

10 When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, and they were saying, Who is this man?

11 And the people were saying. This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.

12 And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and put out all who were buying and selling in the temple, and he overturned the trays of the money-changers and the stands of those who sold doves.

13 And he said to them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a bandits' cave.

14 And in the temple they brought to him the blind and the lame, and he healed them.

15 But when the high priests and the Pharisees saw the wonders that he did, and the boys who were crying aloud in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David, they were displeased.

16 And they said to him, Do you hear what they are saying? Jesus said to them, Yes; have you never read, From the mouth of little children and of boys you made praise?

17 And he left them, and went outside of the city to Bethany, and he lodged there.

18 In the morning, as he returned to the city, he became hungry.

19 And he saw a fig tree on the roadside, and he came to it and found nothing on it except leaves; and he said to it, Let there be no fruit on you again for ever. And shortly the fig tree withered.

20 When the disciples saw it, they were amazed and said, How is it that the fig tree has withered so soon?

21 Jesus answered and said to them, Truly I say to you, If you have faith, and do not doubt, you will perform a deed not only like this of the fig tree, but should you say even to this mountain, Be removed and fall into the sea, it shall be done.

22 And everything that you will ask in prayer and believe, you shall receive.

23 When Jesus came to the temple, the high priests and the elders of the people came up to him, while he was teaching, and said to him, By what authority do you do these things? and who gave you this authority?

24 Jesus answered and said to them, I will also ask you a word, and if you tell me, I will then tell you by what authority I do these things.

25 Whence is the baptism of John? Is it from heaven, or from men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we should say from heaven, he will say to us, Why then did you not believe him?

26 And if we should say, from men, we are afraid of the people, for all of them regard John as a prophet.

27 So they answered and said to him, We do not know. Jesus said to them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

28 What do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first one and said to him, My son, go and work today in the vineyard.

29 He answered and said, I do not want to, but later he regretted and went.

30 And he came to the other one and said to him likewise. And he answered and said, Here am I, my Lord, and yet he did not go.

31 Which of these two did the will of his father? They said to him, The first one. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, that even the publicans and the harlots will precede you into the kingdom of God.

32 For John came to you in a righteousness way, and you did not believe him; but the publicans and the harlots believed him; but you, even though you saw, did not repent, so that later you may believe him.

33 Hear another parable. There was a man who was a householder, and he planted a vineyard, and fenced it, and he dug in it a winepress, and built a tower, and then he leased it to laborers, and went away on a journey.

34 And when the fruit season was at hand, he sent his servants to the laborers, that they might send him of the fruits of his vineyard.

35 And the laborers seized his servants, and some were beaten, and some were stoned, and some were killed.

36 Again he sent other servants, many more than the first; and they did likewise to them.

37 At last he sent his son to them, saying, They might feel ashamed before my son.

38 But when the laborers saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him and retain his inheritance.

39 So they seized him, and took him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

40 When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those laborers?

41 They said to him, He will destroy them severely, and lease his vineyard to other laborers, who will give him fruits in their seasons.

42 Jesus said to them, Have you never read in the scripture, The stone which the builders rejected, the same became the cornerstone; this was from the Lord, and it is a marvel in our eyes?

43 Therefore I say to you, that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and will be given to a people who bear fruits.

44 And whoever falls on this stone will be broken, and on whomever it falls it will scatter him.

45 When the high priests and Pharisees heard his parables, they understood that he was speaking against them.

46 So they wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the people, because they regarded him as a prophet.

1 А коли вони набли́зились до Єрусалиму, і прийшли до Вітфагі́ї, до гори до Оли́вної, тоді Ісус вислав двох учнів,

1 WHEN he came near to Jerusalem, he came to Bethphage on the side of the Mount of Olives. Jesus then sent two of his disciples,

2 до них, кажучи: „Ідіть у село, яке перед вами, і зна́йдете зараз ослицю прив'язану та з нею осля́; відв'яжіть, і Мені приведіть їх.

2 And he said to them, Go to that village which is in front of you, and straightway you will find an ass which is tied up, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me.

3 А як хто вам що́ скаже, відкажіть, що їх потребує Госпо́дь, — і він зараз пошле їх“.

3 And if any man should say anything to you, tell him that our Lord needs them; and he will immediately send them here.

4 А це сталось, щоб спра́вдилось те, що сказав був пророк, промовляючи:

4 All this happened, so that what was said by the prophet, might be fulfilled, who said,

5 „Скажіте Сіонській доньці́: Ось до тебе йде Цар твій! Він покі́рливий, і всів на осла, — на осля, під'яре́мної сина“.

5 Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold your king is coming to you, meek, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass.

6 А учні пішли та й зробили, як звелів їм Ісус.

6 And the disciples went and did as Jesus had commanded them.

7 Вони привели́ до Ісуса ослицю й осля́, і одежу поклали на них, — і Він сів на них.

7 And they brought the ass and the colt, and they put their garments on the colt, and Jesus rode on it.

8 І багато народу стелили одежу свою по дорозі, інші ж різали віття з дерев і стели́ли дорогою.

8 And a great many people spread their garments on the road; and others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

9 А наро́д, що йшов перед Ним і поза́ду, викрикував, кажучи: „Оса́нна Сину Давидовому! Благословенний, хто йде у Господнє Ім'я́! Осанна на висоті!“

9 And the people who were going before him and coming after him, were shouting and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

10 А коли увійшов Він до Єрусалиму, то здвигнулося ціле місто, питаючи: „Хто́ це такий?“

10 When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, and they were saying, Who is this man?

11 А наро́д говорив: „Це Пророк, — Ісус із Назаре́ту Галілейського!“

11 And the people were saying. This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.

12 Потому Ісус увійшов у храм Божий, і вигнав усіх продавців і покупців у храмі, і попереверта́в грошомінам столи, та осло́ни — продавцям голубів.

12 And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and put out all who were buying and selling in the temple, and he overturned the trays of the money-changers and the stands of those who sold doves.

13 І сказав їм: „Написано: „Дім Мій — буде домом молитви,“ а ви робите з нього „печеру розбійників“.

13 And he said to them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but you have made it a bandits' cave.

14 I приступили у храмі до Нього сліпі та криві, — і Він їх уздоро́вив.

14 And in the temple they brought to him the blind and the lame, and he healed them.

15 А первосвященики й книжники, бачивши чуда, що Він учинив, і дітей, що в храмі викрикували: „Осанна Сину Давидовому“, обурилися,

15 But when the high priests and the Pharisees saw the wonders that he did, and the boys who were crying aloud in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David, they were displeased.

16 та й сказали Йому: „Чи ти чуєш, що кажуть вони?“ А Ісус відказав їм: „Так. Чи ж ви не читали нікол́и: „Із уст немовлят, і тих, що ссуть, учинив Ти хвалу"?

16 And they said to him, Do you hear what they are saying? Jesus said to them, Yes; have you never read, From the mouth of little children and of boys you made praise?

17 І покинувши їх, Він вийшов за місто в Віфа́нію, — і там ніч перебув.

17 And he left them, and went outside of the city to Bethany, and he lodged there.

18 А вранці, до міста вертаючись, Він зголоднів.

18 In the morning, as he returned to the city, he became hungry.

19 І побачив Він при дорозі одне фі́ґове дерево, і до нього прийшов, та нічого, крім листя само́го, на нім не знайшов. І до нього Він каже: „Нехай пло́ду із тебе не буде ніко́ли повіки!“ І фіґове дерево зараз усохло.

19 And he saw a fig tree on the roadside, and he came to it and found nothing on it except leaves; and he said to it, Let there be no fruit on you again for ever. And shortly the fig tree withered.

20 А учні, побачивши це, дивувалися та говорили: „Як швидко всохло це фіґове дерево!“

20 When the disciples saw it, they were amazed and said, How is it that the fig tree has withered so soon?

21 Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: „Поправді кажу́ вам: Коли б мали ви віру, і не мали су́мніву, то вчинили б не тільки як із фіговим деревом, а якби й цій горі ви сказали: „Порушся та кинься до моря“, — то й станеться те!

21 Jesus answered and said to them, Truly I say to you, If you have faith, and do not doubt, you will perform a deed not only like this of the fig tree, but should you say even to this mountain, Be removed and fall into the sea, it shall be done.

22 І все, чого ви в молитві попросите з вірою, — то одержите“.

22 And everything that you will ask in prayer and believe, you shall receive.

23 А коли Він прийшов у храм і навчав, поприхо́дили первосвященики й старші наро́ду до Нього й сказали: „Якою Ти вла́дою чиниш оце? І хто Тобі вла́ду цю дав?“

23 When Jesus came to the temple, the high priests and the elders of the people came up to him, while he was teaching, and said to him, By what authority do you do these things? and who gave you this authority?

24 Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: „Запитаю й Я вас одне слово. Як про нього дасте Мені відповідь, то й Я вам скажу́, якою вла́дою Я це чиню́.

24 Jesus answered and said to them, I will also ask you a word, and if you tell me, I will then tell you by what authority I do these things.

25 Іванове хрищення звідки було: із неба, чи від людей?“ Вони ж міркували собі й говорили: „Коли скажемо: „Із неба“, відкаже Він нам: „Чого ж ви йому не повірили?“

25 Whence is the baptism of John? Is it from heaven, or from men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we should say from heaven, he will say to us, Why then did you not believe him?

26 А як скажемо: „Від людей“, — боїмося наро́ду, бо Івана вважають усі за пророка“.

26 And if we should say, from men, we are afraid of the people, for all of them regard John as a prophet.

27 І сказали Ісусові в відповідь: „Ми не знаємо“. Відказав їм і Він: „То й Я вам не скажу́, якою владою Я це чиню́.

27 So they answered and said to him, We do not know. Jesus said to them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

28 А як вам здається? Один чоловік мав двох синів. Прийшовши до першого, він сказав: „Піди но, дитино, сьогодні, працюй у винограднику!“

28 What do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first one and said to him, My son, go and work today in the vineyard.

29 А той відповів і сказав: „Готовий, панотче“, — і не пішов.

29 He answered and said, I do not want to, but later he regretted and went.

30 І, прийшовши до другого, так само сказав. А той відповів і сказав: „Я не хочу“. А потім покаявся, і пішов.

30 And he came to the other one and said to him likewise. And he answered and said, Here am I, my Lord, and yet he did not go.

31 Котрий же з двох учинив волю батькову?“ Вони кажуть: „Останній“. Ісус промовляє до них: „Поправді кажу вам, що ми́тники та блудоді́йки випере́джують вас у Боже Царство.

31 Which of these two did the will of his father? They said to him, The first one. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, that even the publicans and the harlots will precede you into the kingdom of God.

32 Бо прийшов був до вас дорогою праведности Іван, та йому не повірили ви, а ми́тники та блудоді́йки йняли йому віри. А ви бачили, та проте не покаялися й опісля́, щоб повірити йому.

32 For John came to you in a righteousness way, and you did not believe him; but the publicans and the harlots believed him; but you, even though you saw, did not repent, so that later you may believe him.

33 Послухайте іншої притчі. Був госпо́дар один. Насадив виноградника він, обгородив його муром, ви́довбав у ньому чави́ло, башту поставив, — і віддав його винаря́м, та й пішов.

33 Hear another parable. There was a man who was a householder, and he planted a vineyard, and fenced it, and he dug in it a winepress, and built a tower, and then he leased it to laborers, and went away on a journey.

34 Коли ж надійшов час плоді́в, він до винарів послав рабів своїх, щоб прийняти плоди́ свої.

34 And when the fruit season was at hand, he sent his servants to the laborers, that they might send him of the fruits of his vineyard.

35 Винарі ж рабів його похапали, — і одно́го побили, а другого замордували, а того вкаменува́ли.

35 And the laborers seized his servants, and some were beaten, and some were stoned, and some were killed.

36 Знов послав він інших рабів, більш як перше, — та й їм учинили те саме.

36 Again he sent other servants, many more than the first; and they did likewise to them.

37 Нарешті послав до них сина свого́ і сказав: „Посоро́мляться сина мого“.

37 At last he sent his son to them, saying, They might feel ashamed before my son.

38 Але́ винарі́, як побачили сина, міркувати собі стали: „Це спадкоє́мець; ходім, замордуймо його, — і заберемо його спа́дщину!“

38 But when the laborers saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him and retain his inheritance.

39 І, схопи́вши його, вони вивели за виноградник його, та й убили.

39 So they seized him, and took him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

40 Отож, як прибу́де той пан виноградника, що́ зробить він тим винаря́м?“

40 When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those laborers?

41 Вони кажуть Йому: „Злочинців погубить жорсто́ко, виноградника ж віддасть іншим винаря́м, що будуть плоди́ віддавати йому своєча́сно“.

41 They said to him, He will destroy them severely, and lease his vineyard to other laborers, who will give him fruits in their seasons.

42 Ісус промовляє до них: „Чи ви не читали ніко́ли в Писа́нні: Камінь, що його будівничі відкинули, — той наріжним став каменем; від Господа сталося це, і дивне воно в очах наших!“

43 Тому́ кажу вам, що від вас Царство Боже відійметься, і дасться наро́дові, що плоди́ його буде прино́сити.

44 І хто впаде́ на цей камінь — розі́б'ється, а на кого він сам упаде — то розча́вить його́“.
