2 А фараон відказав: „Хто Господь, що послухаюсь сло́ва Його, щоб відпустити Ізраїля? Не знаю Господа, і також Ізраїля не відпущу́!“ |
|
3 І сказали вони: „Бог євреїв стрівся з нами. Нехай же ми пі́демо триденною дорогою на пустиню, і принесемо жертви Господе́ві, Богові нашому, щоб не доторкнувся Він до нас мором або мечем“. |
|
4 І сказав до них цар Єгипту: „Чому ви, Мойсею та Аароне, відриваєте народ від його робіт? Ідіть до своїх діл!“ |
|
5 І сказав фараон: „Таж багато тепер цього простолюду, а ви здержуєте їх від їхніх робіт“. |
|
6 І того дня фараон наказав погоничам народу та писарям, говорячи: |
|
7 „Не давайте більше наро́дові соломи, щоб робити цеглу, як учо́ра й позавчо́ра. Нехай ідуть самі, та збирають собі соломи. |
|
8 А призна́чене число цегли, що вони робили вчо́ра й позавчо́ра, накладете на них, — не зменшуйте з нього. Вони нероби, тому кричать: „Ходім, принесімо жертву нашому Богові!“ |
|
9 Нехай буде тяжка́ праця на цих людей, і нехай працюють на ній, і нехай покинуть облудні слова“. |
|
10 І вийшли погоничі народу й писарі його, та й сказали до того народу, говорячи: „Так сказав фараон: Я не буду давати вам соломи. |
|
11 Самі йдіть, наберіть собі соломи, де́ знайдете, бо нічого не зменшене з вашої роботи!“ |
|
12 І розпоро́шився народ той по всій єгипетській землі, щоб збирати стерню́ на солому. |
|
13 А погоничі наставали, говорячи: „Скінчі́ть вашу щоденну працю в час так, як коли б була́ солома“. |
|
14 І були биті писарі синів Ізраїлевих, що їх настановили над ними фараонові погоничі, говорячи: „Чому ви не скінчи́ли свого при́ділу для виробу цегли й учора й сьогодні, як було дотепер?“ |
|
15 І прибули́ писарі Ізраїлевих синів, та й кричали до фараона, говорячи: „Для чого ти так робиш рабам своїм? |
|
16 Соломи не дають твоїм рабам, а цеглу — кажуть нам — робіть! І ось раби твої биті, — і грішиш ти перед народом своїм!“ |
|
17 А він відказав: „Неро́би ви, неро́би! Тому ви говорите: Ходім, принесімо жертву Господе́ві. |
|
18 А тепер ідіть, працюйте, а соломи не дадуть вам! Але призна́чене число цегли ви дасте!“ |
|
19 І бачили Ізраїлеві писарі себе в біді, коли говорено: „Не зменшуйте з цегли вашої щоденного в його часі!“ |
|
20 І стріли вони Мойсея та Аарона, що стояли насупроти них, як вони виходили від фараона, |
|
21 та й сказали до них: „Нехай побачить вас Господь — і нехай вас осудить, бо ви вчинили нена́висним дух наш в очах фараона й в очах його рабів, — щоб дати меча в їхню руку повбивати нас!“ |
|
22 І вернувся Мойсей до Господа та й сказав: „Господи, чому Ти кривду вчинив цьому наро́дові? Чому Ти послав мені це? |
|
23 Бо відко́ли прийшов я до фараона, щоб говорити Твоїм Ім'я́м, він ще більшу кривду чинить цьому народові, а насправді Ти не визволив народу Свого!“ |

1 AND afterward Moses and Aaron went into the palace and told Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness. |
|
2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, neither will I let Israel go. |
|
3 And they said, The LORD God of the Hebrews has appeared to us; now let us go three days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with the sword or with pestilence. |
|
4 And the king of Egypt said to them, Wherefore do you, Moses and Aaron, cause the people to stop from their work? Go back to your tasks. |
|
5 And Pharaoh said to them, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and you cause them to stop from their work. |
|
6 And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people and their scribes, saying, |
|
7 You shall no more give the people straw to make bricks, as heretofore; let them go and gather straw for themselves. |
|
8 But the number of bricks which they did make heretofore, you shall lay upon them; you shall not reduce the number thereof; for they are idle; that is why they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God. |
|
9 Let more work be assigned to the men, that they may be occupied, so that they may not think to engage in vain conversations. |
|
10 And the taskmasters of the people and their scribes went out and said to the people, Thus says Pharaoh, I will not give you straw. |
|
11 Go, get straw for yourselves wherever you can find it; but your work shall not be reduced. |
|
12 So the people were scattered throughout all the land of Egypt to gather the stubble. |
|
13 And the taskmasters pressed them, saying, Complete your work as you have always done, as when straw was given to you. |
|
14 And the scribes of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had appointed over them, were beaten, and demanded, Why have you not completed your quota of bricks both yesterday and today, as heretofore? |
|
15 Then the scribes of the children of Israel came and complained to Pharaoh, saying, Why are your servants treated in this manner? |
|
16 There is no straw given to your servants, and yet they say to us, Make bricks: and, behold, your servants are beaten; and you sin against your people. |
|
17 But Pharaoh said to them, You are surely idle; therefore you say, Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD. |
|
18 Go therefore now and work; and straw shall not be given you, yet you shall deliver the number of bricks. |
|
19 And the scribes of the children of Israel saw that they were in a bad situation, for it was said to them, You must not reduce the number of your bricks, of your daily task. |
|
20 And they met Moses and Aaron standing opposite them, as they came out from the presence of Pharaoh; |
|
21 And they said to them, May the LORD look upon you and judge; because you have made us to be in disfavor in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hands to kill us. |
|
22 And Moses returned to the LORD and said, O my LORD, Why hast thou caused this people to be ill-treated? And why didst thou send me here? |
|
23 For since the hour I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he has ill-treated this people; and thou hast not delivered thy people at all. |

1 AND afterward Moses and Aaron went into the palace and told Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness. |

2 А фараон відказав: „Хто Господь, що послухаюсь сло́ва Його, щоб відпустити Ізраїля? Не знаю Господа, і також Ізраїля не відпущу́!“ |
2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, neither will I let Israel go. |

3 І сказали вони: „Бог євреїв стрівся з нами. Нехай же ми пі́демо триденною дорогою на пустиню, і принесемо жертви Господе́ві, Богові нашому, щоб не доторкнувся Він до нас мором або мечем“. |
3 And they said, The LORD God of the Hebrews has appeared to us; now let us go three days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with the sword or with pestilence. |

4 І сказав до них цар Єгипту: „Чому ви, Мойсею та Аароне, відриваєте народ від його робіт? Ідіть до своїх діл!“ |
4 And the king of Egypt said to them, Wherefore do you, Moses and Aaron, cause the people to stop from their work? Go back to your tasks. |
|
5 І сказав фараон: „Таж багато тепер цього простолюду, а ви здержуєте їх від їхніх робіт“. |
5 And Pharaoh said to them, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and you cause them to stop from their work. |
|
6 І того дня фараон наказав погоничам народу та писарям, говорячи: |
6 And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people and their scribes, saying, |
|
7 „Не давайте більше наро́дові соломи, щоб робити цеглу, як учо́ра й позавчо́ра. Нехай ідуть самі, та збирають собі соломи. |
7 You shall no more give the people straw to make bricks, as heretofore; let them go and gather straw for themselves. |
|
8 А призна́чене число цегли, що вони робили вчо́ра й позавчо́ра, накладете на них, — не зменшуйте з нього. Вони нероби, тому кричать: „Ходім, принесімо жертву нашому Богові!“ |
8 But the number of bricks which they did make heretofore, you shall lay upon them; you shall not reduce the number thereof; for they are idle; that is why they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God. |
|
9 Нехай буде тяжка́ праця на цих людей, і нехай працюють на ній, і нехай покинуть облудні слова“. |
9 Let more work be assigned to the men, that they may be occupied, so that they may not think to engage in vain conversations. |
|
10 І вийшли погоничі народу й писарі його, та й сказали до того народу, говорячи: „Так сказав фараон: Я не буду давати вам соломи. |
10 And the taskmasters of the people and their scribes went out and said to the people, Thus says Pharaoh, I will not give you straw. |
|
11 Самі йдіть, наберіть собі соломи, де́ знайдете, бо нічого не зменшене з вашої роботи!“ |
11 Go, get straw for yourselves wherever you can find it; but your work shall not be reduced. |
|
12 І розпоро́шився народ той по всій єгипетській землі, щоб збирати стерню́ на солому. |
12 So the people were scattered throughout all the land of Egypt to gather the stubble. |
|
13 А погоничі наставали, говорячи: „Скінчі́ть вашу щоденну працю в час так, як коли б була́ солома“. |
13 And the taskmasters pressed them, saying, Complete your work as you have always done, as when straw was given to you. |
|
14 І були биті писарі синів Ізраїлевих, що їх настановили над ними фараонові погоничі, говорячи: „Чому ви не скінчи́ли свого при́ділу для виробу цегли й учора й сьогодні, як було дотепер?“ |
14 And the scribes of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's taskmasters had appointed over them, were beaten, and demanded, Why have you not completed your quota of bricks both yesterday and today, as heretofore? |

15 І прибули́ писарі Ізраїлевих синів, та й кричали до фараона, говорячи: „Для чого ти так робиш рабам своїм? |
15 Then the scribes of the children of Israel came and complained to Pharaoh, saying, Why are your servants treated in this manner? |
|
16 Соломи не дають твоїм рабам, а цеглу — кажуть нам — робіть! І ось раби твої биті, — і грішиш ти перед народом своїм!“ |
16 There is no straw given to your servants, and yet they say to us, Make bricks: and, behold, your servants are beaten; and you sin against your people. |
|
17 А він відказав: „Неро́би ви, неро́би! Тому ви говорите: Ходім, принесімо жертву Господе́ві. |
17 But Pharaoh said to them, You are surely idle; therefore you say, Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD. |
|
18 А тепер ідіть, працюйте, а соломи не дадуть вам! Але призна́чене число цегли ви дасте!“ |
18 Go therefore now and work; and straw shall not be given you, yet you shall deliver the number of bricks. |
|
19 І бачили Ізраїлеві писарі себе в біді, коли говорено: „Не зменшуйте з цегли вашої щоденного в його часі!“ |
19 And the scribes of the children of Israel saw that they were in a bad situation, for it was said to them, You must not reduce the number of your bricks, of your daily task. |
|
20 І стріли вони Мойсея та Аарона, що стояли насупроти них, як вони виходили від фараона, |
20 And they met Moses and Aaron standing opposite them, as they came out from the presence of Pharaoh; |
|
21 та й сказали до них: „Нехай побачить вас Господь — і нехай вас осудить, бо ви вчинили нена́висним дух наш в очах фараона й в очах його рабів, — щоб дати меча в їхню руку повбивати нас!“ |
21 And they said to them, May the LORD look upon you and judge; because you have made us to be in disfavor in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hands to kill us. |
|
22 І вернувся Мойсей до Господа та й сказав: „Господи, чому Ти кривду вчинив цьому наро́дові? Чому Ти послав мені це? |
22 And Moses returned to the LORD and said, O my LORD, Why hast thou caused this people to be ill-treated? And why didst thou send me here? |
|
23 Бо відко́ли прийшов я до фараона, щоб говорити Твоїм Ім'я́м, він ще більшу кривду чинить цьому народові, а насправді Ти не визволив народу Свого!“ |
23 For since the hour I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he has ill-treated this people; and thou hast not delivered thy people at all. |
