1 Цар Навуходоно́сор зробив був золотого бовва́на, — завви́шки йому́ шістдеся́т ліктів, завши́ршки йому шість ліктів. Він поставив його в долині Дура в вавилонській окру́зі.

2 І цар Навуходоно́сор послав зібрати сатра́пів, заступників, підсатра́пів, радників, су́ддів, вищих урядників та всіх округових володарів, щоб прийшли на посвя́чення бовва́на, якого поставив цар Навуходоно́сор.

3 Того ча́су зібралися сатра́пи, засту́пники, підсатра́пи, радники, скарбники́, су́дді, вищі урядники та всі округо́ві володарі, щоб посвяти́ти бовва́на, якого поставив цар Навуходоно́сор, і поставали навпроти бовва́на, якого поставив Навуходоно́сор.

4 А оповісни́к закли́кав лунки́м го́лосом: „До вас гово́риться, наро́ди, люди та язи́ки!

5 Того ча́су, коли ви почуєте голос рога, сопі́лки, гіта́ри, гу́сел, псалтиря́, фле́йти та всілякого роду музи́ку, падайте й поклоніться золотому бовва́нові, якого поставив цар Навуходоно́сор.

6 А той, хто не впаде́ й не покло́ниться, тієї хвилі буде вки́нений до сере́дини палахкотю́чої огне́нної пе́чі.

7 Тому́ того ча́су, як усі наро́ди почують голос рога, сопілки, гітари, гу́сел, псалтиря́ та всілякого роду музи́ку, попа́дають всі наро́ди, люди та язи́ки, і покло́няться золотому бовва́нові, якого поставив цар Навуходоно́сор“.

8 А цього ча́су набли́зилися халдейські му́жі, і доно́сили на юдеїв.

9 Вони заговорили та й сказали царе́ві Навуходоно́сорові: „Ца́рю, живи навіки!

10 Ти, ца́рю, видав нака́за, щоб кожен чоловік, хто почує голос рога, сопілки, гітари, гу́сел, псалтиря́ й флейти та всіля́кої музи́ки, упав і поклонився золотому бовва́нові.

11 А той, хто не впаде́ й не покло́ниться, бу́де вкинений до сере́дини палахкотю́чої огне́нної пе́чі.

12 Є юдейські му́жі, яких ти призна́чив над справами вавилонської окру́ги, Шадра́х, Меша́х та Авед-Не́ґо, — ці мужі не зверну́ли на тебе, ца́рю, уваги: бога́м твоїм не служать, і золотому бовва́нові, якого ти поставив, не вклоняються“.

13 Тоді Навуходоно́сор у гніві та в лю́тості наказав приве́сти Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо, і того ча́су цих людей привели́ перед царя.

14 Навуходоно́сор заговорив та й сказав їм: Шадраху, Мешаху та Авед-Неґо, — чи це правда, що ви моїм бога́м не служите, а золотому бовва́нові, якого я поставив, не вклоня́єтеся?

15 Тепер, якщо ви готові, щоб того ча́су, коли почуєте голос рога, сопілки, гітари, гусел, псалтиря й флейти та всіляких родів музи́ку, попа́дали й кла́нялися бовва́нові, якого я зробив. А якщо ви не покло́нитеся, тієї години будете вки́нені до сере́дини палахкотю́чої огне́нної пе́чі, і хто той Бог, що врятує вас від моїх рук?“

16 Шадрах, Мешах та Авед-Неґо відповіли́ та й сказали царе́ві Навуходоно́сорові: „Ми не потребуємо відповідати тобі на це слово.

17 Якщо наш Бог, Якому ми служимо, може врятувати нас з палахкотю́чої огне́нної печі, то Він урятує й з твоєї руки, о ца́рю!

18 А якщо ні, нехай буде тобі, о ца́рю, зна́не, що бога́м твоїм ми не служимо, а золотому бовва́нові, якого ти поставив, не бу́демо вклоня́тися!“

19 Тоді Навуходоно́сор перепо́внився лю́тістю, і ви́гляд його обличчя змінився проти Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо. Він відповів, і наказав напали́ти піч усе́меро понад те, як повинно було́ напали́ти її.

20 І він наказав хоробрим військо́вим му́жам, що були в його ві́йську, зв'язати Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо, щоб укинути до палахкотю́чої огне́нної печі.

25 Він відповів та й сказав: „Таж я бачу чотирьох мужі́в непов'я́заних, що ходять посеред огню́, і шкоди їм нема, а ви́гляд того четвертого подібний до Божого сина!“

26 Тоді Навуходоно́сор набли́зився до че́люстів палахкотю́чої огне́нної печі, заговорив та й сказав: „Шадраху, Мешаху та Авед-Неґо, раби Його, Бога Всевишнього, — ви́йдіть і прийді́ть!“ Тоді Шадрах, Мешах та Авед-Неґо вийшли з сере́дини огню́.

27 І зібралися сатра́пи, заступники, і підсатрапи, і цареві радники, та й побачили тих мужів, що огонь не мав сили над їхнім тілом, і не опали́вся во́лос їхньої голови, і їхні плащі́ не змінилися, і за́пах огню́ не ввійшов у них.

28 Навуходоно́сор заговорив та й сказав: „Благослове́нний Бог Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо, що послав Свого Ангола, і врятував Своїх рабів, які наді́ялися на Нього. І вони не послу́халися царсько́го слова, і дали свої тіла́ на огонь, аби не служити й не кла́нятися іншому бо́гові, крім Бога свого́.

29 А тепер від мене видається нака́з, що кожен з наро́ду, люду та язи́ка, який скаже що згірдли́ве на Бога Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо, буде почетверто́ваний, а дім його обе́рнений буде на сміття́, бо немає іншого Бога, що міг би так урятувати, як оце“.

30 Того ча́су цар зробив, щоб добре вело́ся Шадрахові, Мешахові та Авед-Неґові в вавилонській окру́зі.

31 „Цар Навуходоно́сор, до всіх наро́дів, племен та язи́ків, що ме́шкають на всій землі: Нехай вам примно́житься мир!

2 Then Nebuchadnezzar5020 the king4430 sent7972 to gather3673 together the princes,324 the governors,5461 and the captains,6347 the judges,148 the treasurers,1411 the counsellors,1884 the sheriffs,8614 and all3606 the rulers7984 of the provinces,4082 to come858 to the dedication2597 of the image6755 which1768 Nebuchadnezzar5020 the king4430 had set6966 up.

3 Then116 the princes,324 the governors,5461 and captains,6347 the judges,148 the treasurers,1411 the counsellors,1884 the sheriffs,8614 and all3606 the rulers7984 of the provinces,4082 were gathered3673 together to the dedication2597 of the image6755 that Nebuchadnezzar5020 the king4430 had set6966 up; and they stood6966 before6903 the image6755 that Nebuchadnezzar5020 had set6966 up.

4 Then an herald3744 cried7123 aloud,2429 To you it is commanded,560 O people,5972 nations,524 and languages,3961

5 That at what1768 time5732 you hear8086 the sound7032 of the cornet,7162 flute,4953 harp,7030 sackbut,5443 psaltery,6460 dulcimer,5481 and all3606 kinds2177 of music,2170 you fall5308 down and worship5457 the golden1722 image6755 that Nebuchadnezzar5020 the king4430 has set6966 up:

6 And whoever4479 1768 falls5308 not down and worships5457 shall the same hour8160 be cast7412 into the middle1459 of a burning3345 fiery5135 furnace.861

7 Therefore3606 at that time,2166 when1768 all3606 the people5972 heard8086 the sound7032 of the cornet,7162 flute,4953 harp,7030 sackbut,5443 psaltery,6460 and all3606 kinds2177 of music,2170 all3606 the people,5972 the nations,524 and the languages,3961 fell5308 down and worshipped5457 the golden1722 image6755 that Nebuchadnezzar5020 the king4430 had set6966 up.

8 Why3605 at that time2166 certain1400 Chaldeans3779 came7127 near,7127 and accused399 7170 the Jews.3064

9 They spoke6032 and said560 to the king4430 Nebuchadnezzar,5020 O king,4430 live2418 for ever.5957

10 You, O king,4430 have made7761 a decree,2942 that every3606 man606 that shall hear8086 the sound7032 of the cornet,7162 flute,4953 harp,7030 sackbut,5443 psaltery,6460 and dulcimer,5481 and all3606 kinds2177 of music,2170 shall fall5308 down and worship5457 the golden1722 image:6755

11 And whoever4479 1768 falls5308 not down and worships,5457 that he should be cast7412 into the middle1459 of a burning3345 fiery5135 furnace.861

12 There are certain1400 Jews3064 whom3487 you have set4483 over5921 the affairs5673 of the province4083 of Babylon,895 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego;5665 these479 men,1400 O king,4430 have not regarded7761 2942 you: they serve6399 not your gods,426 nor3809 worship5457 the golden1722 image6755 which1768 you have set6966 up.

13 Then116 Nebuchadnezzar5020 in his rage7266 and fury2528 commanded560 to bring858 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego.5665 Then116 they brought858 these479 men1400 before6925 the king.4430

14 Nebuchadnezzar5020 spoke6032 and said560 to them, Is it true,6656 O Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 do not you serve6399 my gods,426 nor3809 worship5457 the golden1722 image6755 which1768 I have set6966 up?

15 Now3705 if2006 you be ready6263 that at what1768 time5732 you hear8086 the sound7032 of the cornet,7162 flute,4953 harp,7030 sackbut,5443 psaltery,6460 and dulcimer,5481 and all3606 kinds2177 of music,2170 you fall5308 down and worship5457 the image6755 which1768 I have made;5648 well: but if2006 you worship5457 not, you shall be cast7412 the same hour8160 into the middle1459 of a burning3345 fiery5135 furnace;861 and who4479 is that God426 that shall deliver7804 you out of my hands?3028

16 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 answered6032 and said560 to the king,4430 O Nebuchadnezzar,5020 we are not careful2818 to answer8421 you in this1836 matter.6600

17 If2006 it be so, our God426 whom1768 we serve6399 is able3202 to deliver7804 us from the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace,861 and he will deliver7804 us out of your hand,3028 O king.4430

18 But if2006 not, be it known3046 to you, O king,4430 that we will not serve6399 your gods,426 nor3809 worship5457 the golden1722 image6755 which1768 you have set6966 up.

19 Then116 was Nebuchadnezzar5020 full4391 of fury,2528 and the form6755 of his visage600 was changed8133 against5922 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego:5665 therefore he spoke,6032 and commanded560 that they should heat228 the furnace861 one2298 seven7655 times more5922 than1768 it was wont2370 to be heated.228

20 And he commanded560 the most2429 mighty1401 men1400 that were in his army2429 to bind3729 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 and to cast7412 them into the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace.861

21 Then116 these479 men1400 were bound3729 in their coats,5622 their hosen,6361 and their hats,3737 and their other garments,3831 and were cast7412 into the middle1459 of the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace.861

22 Therefore3606 because4481 1768 the king's4430 commandment4406 was urgent,2685 and the furnace861 exceeding3493 hot,228 the flames7631 of the fire5135 slew6992 those479 men1400 that took5267 up Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego.5665

23 And these479 three8532 men,1400 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 fell5308 down bound3729 into the middle1459 of the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace.861

24 Then116 Nebuchadnezzar5020 the king4430 was astonished,8429 and rose6965 up in haste,927 and spoke,6032 and said560 to his counsellors,1907 Did not we cast7412 three8532 men1400 bound3729 into the middle1459 of the fire?5135 They answered6032 and said560 to the king,4430 True,3330 O king.4430

25 He answered6032 and said,560 See,1888 I see2370 four703 men1400 loose,8271 walking1981 in the middle1459 of the fire,5135 and they have383 no3809 hurt;2257 and the form7299 of the fourth7244 is like1821 the Son1247 of God.426

26 Then116 Nebuchadnezzar5020 came7127 near7127 to the mouth8651 of the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace,861 and spoke,6032 and said,560 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 you servants5649 of the most5943 high5943 God,426 come5312 forth,5312 and come858 here. Then116 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 came5312 forth5312 of the middle1459 of the fire.5135

27 And the princes,324 governors,5461 and captains,6347 and the king's4430 counsellors,1907 being gathered3673 together, saw2370 these479 men,1400 on whose1768 bodies1655 the fire5135 had no3809 power,7981 nor3809 was an hair8177 of their head7217 singed,2761 neither3809 were their coats5622 changed,8133 nor3809 the smell7382 of fire5135 had passed5709 on them.

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar5020 spoke,6032 and said,560 Blessed1289 be the God426 of Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 who1768 has sent7972 his angel,4398 and delivered7804 his servants5649 that trusted7365 in him, and have changed8133 the king's4430 word,4406 and yielded3052 their bodies,1655 that they might not serve6399 nor3809 worship5457 any3606 god,426 except3861 their own God.426

29 Therefore I make7761 a decree,2942 That every3606 people,5972 nation,524 and language,3961 which1768 speak560 any thing amiss7955 against5922 the God426 of Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 shall be cut5648 in pieces,1917 and their houses1005 shall be made7739 a dunghill:5122 because3606 there is no3809 other321 God426 that can3202 deliver5338 after1836 this1836 sort.

17 If2006 it be so, our God426 whom1768 we serve6399 is able3202 to deliver7804 us from the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace,861 and he will deliver7804 us out of your hand,3028 O king.4430

18 А якщо ні, нехай буде тобі, о ца́рю, зна́не, що бога́м твоїм ми не служимо, а золотому бовва́нові, якого ти поставив, не бу́демо вклоня́тися!“

18 But if2006 not, be it known3046 to you, O king,4430 that we will not serve6399 your gods,426 nor3809 worship5457 the golden1722 image6755 which1768 you have set6966 up.

19 Тоді Навуходоно́сор перепо́внився лю́тістю, і ви́гляд його обличчя змінився проти Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо. Він відповів, і наказав напали́ти піч усе́меро понад те, як повинно було́ напали́ти її.

19 Then116 was Nebuchadnezzar5020 full4391 of fury,2528 and the form6755 of his visage600 was changed8133 against5922 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego:5665 therefore he spoke,6032 and commanded560 that they should heat228 the furnace861 one2298 seven7655 times more5922 than1768 it was wont2370 to be heated.228

20 І він наказав хоробрим військо́вим му́жам, що були в його ві́йську, зв'язати Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо, щоб укинути до палахкотю́чої огне́нної печі.

20 And he commanded560 the most2429 mighty1401 men1400 that were in his army2429 to bind3729 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 and to cast7412 them into the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace.861

21 Того ча́су ці мужі були пов'я́зані в своїх плаща́х, у своїх соро́чках і в своїх ша́пках, і в своїх убра́ннях, і були повки́дані до сере́дини палахкотю́чої огне́нної пе́чі.

21 Then116 these479 men1400 were bound3729 in their coats,5622 their hosen,6361 and their hats,3737 and their other garments,3831 and were cast7412 into the middle1459 of the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace.861

22 А що слово царя було го́стре, то піч напа́лена була надзвича́йно сильно, так що тих му́жів, що підіймали, щоб укинути Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо, забило їх огняне́ по́лум'я.

22 Therefore3606 because4481 1768 the king's4430 commandment4406 was urgent,2685 and the furnace861 exceeding3493 hot,228 the flames7631 of the fire5135 slew6992 those479 men1400 that took5267 up Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego.5665

23 А ці три мужі, Шадрах, Мешах та Авед-Неґо, упали до сере́дини палахкотю́чої огне́нної печі пов'я́зані.

23 And these479 three8532 men,1400 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 fell5308 down bound3729 into the middle1459 of the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace.861

24 Тоді цар Навуходоно́сор здивувався, і поспішно встав, заговорив та й сказав до своїх радників: „Чи ж не трьох зв'я́заних мужі́в ми кинули до сере́дини огню́?“ Ті відповіли та й сказали цареві: „Певне, ца́рю!“

24 Then116 Nebuchadnezzar5020 the king4430 was astonished,8429 and rose6965 up in haste,927 and spoke,6032 and said560 to his counsellors,1907 Did not we cast7412 three8532 men1400 bound3729 into the middle1459 of the fire?5135 They answered6032 and said560 to the king,4430 True,3330 O king.4430

25 Він відповів та й сказав: „Таж я бачу чотирьох мужі́в непов'я́заних, що ходять посеред огню́, і шкоди їм нема, а ви́гляд того четвертого подібний до Божого сина!“

25 He answered6032 and said,560 See,1888 I see2370 four703 men1400 loose,8271 walking1981 in the middle1459 of the fire,5135 and they have383 no3809 hurt;2257 and the form7299 of the fourth7244 is like1821 the Son1247 of God.426

26 Тоді Навуходоно́сор набли́зився до че́люстів палахкотю́чої огне́нної печі, заговорив та й сказав: „Шадраху, Мешаху та Авед-Неґо, раби Його, Бога Всевишнього, — ви́йдіть і прийді́ть!“ Тоді Шадрах, Мешах та Авед-Неґо вийшли з сере́дини огню́.

26 Then116 Nebuchadnezzar5020 came7127 near7127 to the mouth8651 of the burning3345 fiery5135 furnace,861 and spoke,6032 and said,560 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 you servants5649 of the most5943 high5943 God,426 come5312 forth,5312 and come858 here. Then116 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 came5312 forth5312 of the middle1459 of the fire.5135

27 І зібралися сатра́пи, заступники, і підсатрапи, і цареві радники, та й побачили тих мужів, що огонь не мав сили над їхнім тілом, і не опали́вся во́лос їхньої голови, і їхні плащі́ не змінилися, і за́пах огню́ не ввійшов у них.

27 And the princes,324 governors,5461 and captains,6347 and the king's4430 counsellors,1907 being gathered3673 together, saw2370 these479 men,1400 on whose1768 bodies1655 the fire5135 had no3809 power,7981 nor3809 was an hair8177 of their head7217 singed,2761 neither3809 were their coats5622 changed,8133 nor3809 the smell7382 of fire5135 had passed5709 on them.

28 Навуходоно́сор заговорив та й сказав: „Благослове́нний Бог Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо, що послав Свого Ангола, і врятував Своїх рабів, які наді́ялися на Нього. І вони не послу́халися царсько́го слова, і дали свої тіла́ на огонь, аби не служити й не кла́нятися іншому бо́гові, крім Бога свого́.

28 Then Nebuchadnezzar5020 spoke,6032 and said,560 Blessed1289 be the God426 of Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 who1768 has sent7972 his angel,4398 and delivered7804 his servants5649 that trusted7365 in him, and have changed8133 the king's4430 word,4406 and yielded3052 their bodies,1655 that they might not serve6399 nor3809 worship5457 any3606 god,426 except3861 their own God.426

29 А тепер від мене видається нака́з, що кожен з наро́ду, люду та язи́ка, який скаже що згірдли́ве на Бога Шадраха, Мешаха та Авед-Неґо, буде почетверто́ваний, а дім його обе́рнений буде на сміття́, бо немає іншого Бога, що міг би так урятувати, як оце“.

29 Therefore I make7761 a decree,2942 That every3606 people,5972 nation,524 and language,3961 which1768 speak560 any thing amiss7955 against5922 the God426 of Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 shall be cut5648 in pieces,1917 and their houses1005 shall be made7739 a dunghill:5122 because3606 there is no3809 other321 God426 that can3202 deliver5338 after1836 this1836 sort.

30 Того ча́су цар зробив, щоб добре вело́ся Шадрахові, Мешахові та Авед-Неґові в вавилонській окру́зі.

30 Then116 the king4430 promoted6744 Shadrach,7715 Meshach,4336 and Abednego,5665 in the province4082 of Babylon.895

31 „Цар Навуходоно́сор, до всіх наро́дів, племен та язи́ків, що ме́шкають на всій землі: Нехай вам примно́житься мир!

32 Зна́ки та чу́да, які зробив зо мною Всевишній Бог, уважаю за відповідне об'явити.

33 Які великі Його зна́ки, й які поту́жні Його чу́да! Царство Його — царство вічне, а Його панува́ння — з покоління в покоління!“
