2 Тяжела5810 была5810 рука3027 Мадианитян4080 над Израилем,3478 и сыны1121 Израилевы3478 сделали6213 себе от Мадианитян4080 ущелья4492 в горах2022 и пещеры4631 и укрепления.4679

3 Когда посеет2232 Израиль,3478 придут5927 Мадианитяне4080 и Амаликитяне6002 и жители1121 востока6924 и ходят5927 у них;

4 и стоят2583 у них шатрами,2583 и истребляют7843 произведения2981 земли776 до самой935 Газы,5804 и не оставляют7604 для пропитания4241 Израилю3478 ни овцы,7716 ни вола,7794 ни осла.2543

13 Гедеон1439 сказал559 ему: господин113 мой! если3426 Господь3068 с нами, то отчего постигло4672 нас все это? и где все чудеса6381 Его, о которых рассказывали5608 нам отцы1 наши, говоря:559 «из Египта4714 вывел5927 нас Господь»?3068 Ныне оставил5203 нас Господь3068 и предал5414 нас в руки3709 Мадианитян.4080

14 Господь,3068 воззрев6437 на него, сказал:559 иди3212 с этою силою3581 твоею и спаси3467 Израиля3478 от руки3709 Мадианитян;4080 Я посылаю7971 тебя.

15 Гедеон сказал559 ему: Господи!136 как4100 спасу3467 я Израиля?3478 вот, и племя504505 мое в колене Манассиином4519 самое бедное,1800 и я в доме1004 отца1 моего младший.6810

16 И сказал559 ему Господь:3068 Я буду с тобою, и ты поразишь5221 Мадианитян,4080 как одного259 человека.376

17 Гедеон сказал559 Ему: если я обрел4672 благодать2580 пред очами5869 Твоими, то сделай6213 мне знамение,226 что Ты говоришь1696 со мною:

18 не уходи4185 отсюда, доколе я не приду935 к Тебе и не принесу3318 дара4503 моего и не предложу3240 Тебе. Он сказал:559 Я останусь3427 до возвращения7725 твоего.

19 Гедеон1439 пошел935 и приготовил6213 козленка57951423 и опресноков4682 из ефы374 муки;7058 мясо1320 положил7760 в корзину,5536 а похлебку4839 влил7760 в горшок6517 и принес3318 к Нему под дуб424 и предложил.5066

20 И сказал559 ему Ангел4397 Божий:430 возьми3947 мясо1320 и опресноки,4682 и положи3240 на сей1975 камень,5553 и вылей8210 похлебку.4839 Он так и сделал.6213

21 Ангел4397 Господень3068 простер7971 конец7097 жезла,4938 который был в руке3027 его, прикоснулся5060 к мясу1320 и опреснокам;4682 и вышел5927 огонь784 из камня6697 и поел398 мясо1320 и опресноки;4682 и Ангел4397 Господень3068 скрылся1980 от глаз5869 его.

22 И увидел7200 Гедеон,1439 что это Ангел4397 Господень,3068 и сказал559 Гедеон:1439 увы162 мне, Владыка136 Господи!3069 потому что3651 я видел7200 Ангела4397 Господня3068 лицем6440 к лицу.6440

23 Господь3068 сказал559 ему: мир7965 тебе, не бойся,3372 не умрешь.4191

24 И устроил1129 там Гедеон1439 жертвенник4196 Господу3068 и назвал7121 его: Иегова3073 Шалом.3073 Он еще до сего дня3117 в Офре6084 Авиезеровой.33

25 В ту ночь3915 сказал559 ему Господь:3068 возьми3947 тельца64997794 из стада отца1 твоего и другого8145 тельца6499 семилетнего,76518141 и разрушь2040 жертвенник4196 Ваала,1168 который у отца1 твоего, и сруби3772 священное842 дерево,842 которое при нем,

26 и поставь1129 жертвенник4196 Господу3068 Богу430 твоему, на вершине7218 скалы4581 сей, в порядке,4634 и возьми3947 второго8145 тельца6499 и принеси5927 во всесожжение5930 на дровах6086 дерева,842 которое срубишь.3772

27 Гедеон1439 взял3947 десять6235 человек582 из рабов5650 своих и сделал,6213 как говорил1696 ему Господь;3068 но как сделать6213 это днем3119 он боялся3372 домашних1004 отца1 своего и жителей582 города,5892 то сделал6213 ночью.3915

28 Поутру1242 встали7925 жители582 города,5892 и вот, жертвенник4196 Ваалов1168 разрушен,5422 и дерево842 при нем срублено,3772 и второй8145 телец6499 вознесен5927 во всесожжение5927 на новоустроенном1129 жертвеннике.4196

29 И говорили559 друг376 другу:7453 кто это1697 сделал?6213 Искали,1875 расспрашивали1245 и сказали:559 Гедеон,1439 сын1121 Иоасов,3101 сделал6213 это.1697

30 И сказали559 жители582 города5892 Иоасу:3101 выведи3318 сына1121 твоего; он должен умереть4191 за то, что разрушил5422 жертвенник4196 Ваала1168 и срубил3772 дерево,842 которое было при нем.

31 Иоас3101 сказал559 всем приступившим5975 к нему: вам ли вступаться7378 за Ваала,1168 вам ли защищать3467 его? кто вступится7378 за него, тот будет4191 предан4191 смерти4191 в это же утро;1242 если он Бог,430 то пусть сам вступится7378 за себя, потому что он разрушил5422 его жертвенник.4196

32 И стал7121 звать7121 его с того дня3117 Иероваалом,3378 потому что сказал:559 пусть Ваал1168 сам судится7378 с ним за то, что он разрушил5422 жертвенник4196 его.

33 Между тем все Мадианитяне4080 и Амаликитяне6002 и жители1121 востока6924 собрались622 вместе,3162 перешли5674 реку и стали2583 станом2583 на долине6010 Изреельской.3157

34 И Дух7307 Господень3068 объял3847 Гедеона;1439 он вострубил8628 трубою,7782 и созвано2199 было2199 племя Авиезерово44 идти2199 за310 ним.

35 И послал7971 послов4397 по всему колену Манассиину,4519 и оно вызвалось2199 идти2199 за310 ним; также послал7971 послов4397 к Асиру,836 Завулону2074 и Неффалиму,5321 и сии пришли5927 навстречу7125 им.

36 И сказал559 Гедеон1439 Богу:430 если3426 Ты спасешь3467 Израиля3478 рукою3027 моею, как говорил1696 Ты,

37 то вот, я расстелю3322 здесь на гумне1637 стриженую1492 шерсть:6785 если роса2919 будет только на шерсти,1492 а на всей земле776 сухо,2721 то буду3045 знать,3045 что спасешь3467 рукою3027 моею Израиля,3478 как говорил1696 Ты.

38 Так и сделалось: на другой4283 день,4283 встав7925 рано,7925 он стал2115 выжимать2115 шерсть1492 и выжал4680 из шерсти1492 росы2919 целую4393 чашу5602 воды.4325

39 И сказал559 Гедеон1439 Богу:430 не прогневайся2734639 на меня, если еще раз6471 скажу1696 и еще только однажды6471 сделаю5254 испытание5254 над шерстью:1492 пусть будет сухо2721 на одной только шерсти,1492 а на всей земле776 пусть будет роса.2919

40 Бог430 так и сделал6213 в ту ночь:3915 только на шерсти1492 было сухо,2721 а на всей земле776 была роса.2919

Chapter 6

1 AND the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Midianites seven years.

2 And the hand of the Midianites prevailed against Israel, in that they fled from before the Midianites; and the children of Israel made for themselves dens in the mountains, and caves, and sheepfolds.

3 And whenever Israel had sown, the Midianites and the Amalekites and the Rakimites came up and encamped against them;

4 And they destroyed the produce of the whole land as far as the entrance of Gaza, and left no food for Israel to raise either oxen or sheep or asses.

5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came like locusts in multitude; for both they and their camels were without number; and they entered into the land to destroy it.

6 And Israel trembled exceedingly from before the Midianites;

7 And the children of Israel cried to the LORD because of the Midianites,

8 And the LORD sent a prophet to the children of Israel, and he said to them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;

9 And I delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all your oppressors, and destroyed them from before you and gave you their land;

10 And I said to you, I am the LORD your God; you shall not worship the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell; but you have not obeyed my voice.

11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was at Ophrah, the town of Joash the father of Azri; and his son Gideon was beating out wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

12 And the angel of the LORD appeared and said to him, The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor.

13 And Gideon said to him, I beseech you, O my lord, if the LORD be with us, why then have all these misfortunes befallen us? And where are all his wonders of which our fathers have told us, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hand of the Midianites.

14 And the LORD turned to him, and said, Go with this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites; behold, I have sent you.

15 And he said to him, I beseech thee, O my LORD, with what shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father's family.

16 And the LORD said to him, I will be with you, and you shall smite the Midianites as one man.

17 And he said to him, If now I have found mercy in thy sight, then show me a sign that I may know that thou speakest with me.

18 Do not depart from here until I come to thee and bring out my meal and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until you come again.

19 So Gideon went in and prepared a kid and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour; the meat he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak and presented it.

20 And the angel of the LORD said to him, Take the meat and the unleavened cakes, and lay them on the rock, and pour out the broth over it. And he did so.

21 Then the angel of the LORD .put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the meat and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD vanished from his sight.

22 And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O LORD God! for I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face.

23 And the LORD said to him, Peace be unto you; fear not; you shall not die.

24 Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it Mariah-shalama; and to this day it still stands in Ophrah, the town of the father of Azri.

25 And it came to pass on that day, the LORD said to him, Take your father's bullock, and the second bullock seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal, the idol of your father, and cut down the grove that is by it;

26 And build an altar to the LORD your God upon the top of this rock, in an orderly manner, and take the second bullock, and offer it upon it as a burnt offering with the wood of the grove which you shall cut down.

27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said to him; and because he was afraid of doing it by day, because of his father's household and the men of the town, he did it by night.

28 And when the men of the town arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was pulled down and the grove which was beside it was destroyed and the second bullock was offered upon another altar which had been built.

29 And they said one to another, Who has done this thing? And when they had asked and enquired, they said, Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing.

30 Then the men of the town said to Joash, Bring out your son, that he may die; because he has pulled down the altar of Baal and has cut down the grove that was by it.

31 And Joash said to all who stood against him, Will you plead for Baal? Or will you try to save him? Whosoever pleads for him shall be put to death while it is yet morning; if he is a god, let him plead for himself, because his altar has been thrown down.

32 Therefore on that day he called Gideon Nedo-baal, saying, Let Baal judge him, because he has thrown down his altar.

33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the Rakimites were gathered together, and went over and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.

34 But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Jezreel shouted his approval.

35 And he sent his messengers throughout all Manasseh; and they also blew trumpets and followed him; and he sent his messengers to Asher and to Zebulun and to Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.

36 And Gideon said to God, If thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast said,

37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; and if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast said.

38 And it was so; and he rose early the next day and pressed the fleece and wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowlful of water.

39 And Gideon said to God, Let not thy anger kindle against me, and I will speak but this once; let me prove thee again but this once with the fleece; let now only the fleece be dry, and upon all the ground let there be dew.

40 And God did so that night; for only the fleece was dry, and there was dew on all the ground.

8 And the LORD sent a prophet to the children of Israel, and he said to them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and brought you forth out of the house of bondage;

9 And I delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all your oppressors, and destroyed them from before you and gave you their land;

10 и сказал559 вам: «Я — Господь3068 Бог430 ваш; не чтите3372 богов430 Аморрейских,567 в земле776 которых вы живете»;3427 но вы не послушали8085 гласа6963 Моего.

10 And I said to you, I am the LORD your God; you shall not worship the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell; but you have not obeyed my voice.

11 И пришел935 Ангел4397 Господень3068 и сел3427 в Офре6084 под дубом,424 принадлежащим Иоасу,3101 потомку Авиезерову;33 сын1121 его Гедеон1439 выколачивал2251 тогда пшеницу2406 в точиле,1660 чтобы скрыться5127 от Мадианитян.4080

11 And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was at Ophrah, the town of Joash the father of Azri; and his son Gideon was beating out wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

12 And the angel of the LORD appeared and said to him, The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor.

14 And the LORD turned to him, and said, Go with this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites; behold, I have sent you.

16 And the LORD said to him, I will be with you, and you shall smite the Midianites as one man.

17 Гедеон сказал559 Ему: если я обрел4672 благодать2580 пред очами5869 Твоими, то сделай6213 мне знамение,226 что Ты говоришь1696 со мною:

17 And he said to him, If now I have found mercy in thy sight, then show me a sign that I may know that thou speakest with me.

18 не уходи4185 отсюда, доколе я не приду935 к Тебе и не принесу3318 дара4503 моего и не предложу3240 Тебе. Он сказал:559 Я останусь3427 до возвращения7725 твоего.

18 Do not depart from here until I come to thee and bring out my meal and set it before thee. And he said, I will tarry until you come again.

19 Гедеон1439 пошел935 и приготовил6213 козленка57951423 и опресноков4682 из ефы374 муки;7058 мясо1320 положил7760 в корзину,5536 а похлебку4839 влил7760 в горшок6517 и принес3318 к Нему под дуб424 и предложил.5066

19 So Gideon went in and prepared a kid and unleavened cakes of an ephah of flour; the meat he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak and presented it.

20 И сказал559 ему Ангел4397 Божий:430 возьми3947 мясо1320 и опресноки,4682 и положи3240 на сей1975 камень,5553 и вылей8210 похлебку.4839 Он так и сделал.6213

20 And the angel of the LORD said to him, Take the meat and the unleavened cakes, and lay them on the rock, and pour out the broth over it. And he did so.

21 Ангел4397 Господень3068 простер7971 конец7097 жезла,4938 который был в руке3027 его, прикоснулся5060 к мясу1320 и опреснокам;4682 и вышел5927 огонь784 из камня6697 и поел398 мясо1320 и опресноки;4682 и Ангел4397 Господень3068 скрылся1980 от глаз5869 его.

21 Then the angel of the LORD .put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened cakes; and there rose up fire out of the rock, and consumed the meat and the unleavened cakes. Then the angel of the LORD vanished from his sight.

22 И увидел7200 Гедеон,1439 что это Ангел4397 Господень,3068 и сказал559 Гедеон:1439 увы162 мне, Владыка136 Господи!3069 потому что3651 я видел7200 Ангела4397 Господня3068 лицем6440 к лицу.6440

22 And when Gideon perceived that he was an angel of the LORD, Gideon said, Alas, O LORD God! for I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face.

23 And the LORD said to him, Peace be unto you; fear not; you shall not die.

26 And build an altar to the LORD your God upon the top of this rock, in an orderly manner, and take the second bullock, and offer it upon it as a burnt offering with the wood of the grove which you shall cut down.

27 Гедеон1439 взял3947 десять6235 человек582 из рабов5650 своих и сделал,6213 как говорил1696 ему Господь;3068 но как сделать6213 это днем3119 он боялся3372 домашних1004 отца1 своего и жителей582 города,5892 то сделал6213 ночью.3915

27 Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the LORD had said to him; and because he was afraid of doing it by day, because of his father's household and the men of the town, he did it by night.

28 Поутру1242 встали7925 жители582 города,5892 и вот, жертвенник4196 Ваалов1168 разрушен,5422 и дерево842 при нем срублено,3772 и второй8145 телец6499 вознесен5927 во всесожжение5927 на новоустроенном1129 жертвеннике.4196

28 And when the men of the town arose early in the morning, behold, the altar of Baal was pulled down and the grove which was beside it was destroyed and the second bullock was offered upon another altar which had been built.

29 И говорили559 друг376 другу:7453 кто это1697 сделал?6213 Искали,1875 расспрашивали1245 и сказали:559 Гедеон,1439 сын1121 Иоасов,3101 сделал6213 это.1697

29 And they said one to another, Who has done this thing? And when they had asked and enquired, they said, Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing.

30 И сказали559 жители582 города5892 Иоасу:3101 выведи3318 сына1121 твоего; он должен умереть4191 за то, что разрушил5422 жертвенник4196 Ваала1168 и срубил3772 дерево,842 которое было при нем.

30 Then the men of the town said to Joash, Bring out your son, that he may die; because he has pulled down the altar of Baal and has cut down the grove that was by it.

31 Иоас3101 сказал559 всем приступившим5975 к нему: вам ли вступаться7378 за Ваала,1168 вам ли защищать3467 его? кто вступится7378 за него, тот будет4191 предан4191 смерти4191 в это же утро;1242 если он Бог,430 то пусть сам вступится7378 за себя, потому что он разрушил5422 его жертвенник.4196

31 And Joash said to all who stood against him, Will you plead for Baal? Or will you try to save him? Whosoever pleads for him shall be put to death while it is yet morning; if he is a god, let him plead for himself, because his altar has been thrown down.

32 И стал7121 звать7121 его с того дня3117 Иероваалом,3378 потому что сказал:559 пусть Ваал1168 сам судится7378 с ним за то, что он разрушил5422 жертвенник4196 его.

32 Therefore on that day he called Gideon Nedo-baal, saying, Let Baal judge him, because he has thrown down his altar.

33 Между тем все Мадианитяне4080 и Амаликитяне6002 и жители1121 востока6924 собрались622 вместе,3162 перешли5674 реку и стали2583 станом2583 на долине6010 Изреельской.3157

33 Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the Rakimites were gathered together, and went over and encamped in the valley of Jezreel.

34 И Дух7307 Господень3068 объял3847 Гедеона;1439 он вострубил8628 трубою,7782 и созвано2199 было2199 племя Авиезерово44 идти2199 за310 ним.

34 But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Jezreel shouted his approval.

35 И послал7971 послов4397 по всему колену Манассиину,4519 и оно вызвалось2199 идти2199 за310 ним; также послал7971 послов4397 к Асиру,836 Завулону2074 и Неффалиму,5321 и сии пришли5927 навстречу7125 им.

35 And he sent his messengers throughout all Manasseh; and they also blew trumpets and followed him; and he sent his messengers to Asher and to Zebulun and to Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.

36 И сказал559 Гедеон1439 Богу:430 если3426 Ты спасешь3467 Израиля3478 рукою3027 моею, как говорил1696 Ты,

36 And Gideon said to God, If thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast said,

37 то вот, я расстелю3322 здесь на гумне1637 стриженую1492 шерсть:6785 если роса2919 будет только на шерсти,1492 а на всей земле776 сухо,2721 то буду3045 знать,3045 что спасешь3467 рукою3027 моею Израиля,3478 как говорил1696 Ты.

37 Behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing floor; and if there is dew on the fleece only, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast said.

38 Так и сделалось: на другой4283 день,4283 встав7925 рано,7925 он стал2115 выжимать2115 шерсть1492 и выжал4680 из шерсти1492 росы2919 целую4393 чашу5602 воды.4325

38 And it was so; and he rose early the next day and pressed the fleece and wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowlful of water.

39 И сказал559 Гедеон1439 Богу:430 не прогневайся2734639 на меня, если еще раз6471 скажу1696 и еще только однажды6471 сделаю5254 испытание5254 над шерстью:1492 пусть будет сухо2721 на одной только шерсти,1492 а на всей земле776 пусть будет роса.2919

39 And Gideon said to God, Let not thy anger kindle against me, and I will speak but this once; let me prove thee again but this once with the fleece; let now only the fleece be dry, and upon all the ground let there be dew.

40 Бог430 так и сделал6213 в ту ночь:3915 только на шерсти1492 было сухо,2721 а на всей земле776 была роса.2919

40 And God did so that night; for only the fleece was dry, and there was dew on all the ground.
