Глава 4

1 Фарисеи узнали, что Иисус приобретает и крестит больше учеников, чем Иоанн.

2 На самом же деле Иисус не крестил людей, это делали Его ученики. Иисусу стало известно, что о Нём говорили,

3 и поэтому Он покинул Иудею и отправился обратно в Галилею.

4 Однако Ему нужно было пройти через Самарию.

5 В Самарии Иисус остановился в городе, называемый Сихарь, неподалёку от земли, которую Иаков подарил своему сыну Иосифу.

6 В той местности находился колодец Иакова, и Иисус, устав с дороги, сел у того колодца. Было около полудня.

7 Одна самаритянка пришла к колодцу набрать воды, и Иисус попросил её: «Дай Мне попить».

8 Его ученики в это время отправились в город купить еду.

9 Самаритянка спросила: «Как это Ты, иудей, просишь у меня, самаритянки, воды?» Иудеи не общались с самаритянами.

10 Иисус ответил: «Если бы ты знала, что Бог даёт людям и Кто это просит тебя: „Дай Мне попить”, то ты сама просила бы у Меня, и Я дал бы тебе живой воды».

11 Женщина сказала Ему: «Господин, ведь у Тебя даже ведра нет, а колодец глубок. Где же Ты возьмёшь эту живую воду?

12 Неужели Ты превосходишь нашего праотца Иакова, который дал нам этот колодец и сам пил из него со своими детьми и скотом!»

13 Иисус ответил ей на это: «Всякого, кто попьёт этой воды, вскоре снова будет мучить жажда,

14 тот же, кто попьёт воды, которую дам ему Я, больше никогда не испытает жажды. А вода, которую дам ему Я, превратится внутри него в источник, из которого бьёт вечная жизнь».

15 Женщина попросила: «Господин, дай мне этой воды, чтобы я никогда больше не испытывала жажды и чтобы мне не пришлось больше приходить сюда за водой».

16 Он сказал ей: «Пойди, позови своего мужа и возвращайся».

17 Женщина ответила: «У меня нет мужа». Иисус продолжил: «Ты правильно сказала, что у тебя нет мужа.

18 У тебя было их пятеро, а тот, с кем сейчас живёшь, тебе не муж. Ты правду сказала».

19 Женщина молвила: «Господин, я вижу, что Ты пророк.

20 Наши отцы приходили для поклонения на эту гору, но вы, иудеи, утверждаете, что люди должны идти для поклонения в Иерусалим».

21 Иисус ответил: «Женщина, поверь Мне, приближается время, когда вы будете поклоняться Отцу не на этой горе и не в Иерусалиме.

22 Вы, самаритяне, поклоняетесь тому, кого не понимаете. Мы же, иудеи, понимаем, Кому поклоняемся, так как спасение приходит от иудеев.

23 Но приближается время, и оно уже настало, когда истинно поклоняющиеся Отцу станут поклоняться Ему в духе и в истине. Именно таких поклонников ищет себе Отец.

24 Бог есть Дух, и потому те, кто Ему поклоняются, должны поклоняться Ему в Духе и истине».

25 Женщина сказала: «Я знаю, что приближается Мессия, что означает Христос. Когда Он явится, то расскажет нам обо всём».

26 «Это — Я, — ответил ей Иисус. — Я, говорящий с тобой, — Мессия».

27 В это время возвратились Его ученики и очень удивились, что Он разговаривает с женщиной. Но никто не сказал: «Чего Ты хочешь?» — или: «Почему Ты разговариваешь с ней?»

28 Женщина оставила свой кувшин с водой и возвратилась обратно в город. Она сказала людям:

29 «Пойдёмте со мной, и вы увидите Человека, Который рассказал мне обо всём, что я делала в жизни! Может быть, Он Христос?»

30 Они вышли из города и направились к Нему.

31 Тем временем ученики Иисуса упрашивали Его: «Учитель, поешь чего-нибудь!»

32 Но Он сказал им: «У Меня есть пища, о которой вы не знаете!»

33 Тогда Его ученики стали спрашивать друг у друга: «Может быть, кто-то принёс Ему еду?»

34 Иисус же ответил на это: «Моя пища в том, чтобы исполнять волю Пославшего Меня и закончить порученную Мне работу.

35 Засевая поле, вы часто говорите: „Ещё четыре месяца, а там и жатва”. А Я вам говорю: „Откройте свои глаза и посмотрите на поля, которые уже созрели для жатвы.

36 Тот, кто жнёт, уже получает плату и собирает урожай для вечной жизни, чтобы и сеятель, и жнец оба могли радоваться”.

37 Правдива пословица: „Один сеет, другой жнёт”.

38 Я послал вас, чтобы вы жали то, над чем не трудились сами. Другие трудились, а вы собрали плоды их трудов».

39 Многие самаритяне из того города поверили в Иисуса, потому что эта женщина сказала им о Нём: «Он рассказал мне обо всём, что я когда-либо делала».

40 Самаритяне пошли к Иисусу и попросили Его остаться с ними, и Он оставался с ними два дня.

41 И многие уверовали, услышав Его учения.

42 Они сказали той женщине: «Сначала мы поверили благодаря твоим словам. Теперь же мы верим, потому что сами услышали и знаем, что Этот Человек в самом деле Спаситель мира».

43 Два дня спустя Иисус покинул Самарию и отправился в Галилею.

44 Ещё ранее Иисус Сам сказал, что пророка не чтут в Его отечестве.

45 И когда Он пришёл в Галилею, галилеяне радушно приняли Его. Эти люди видели всё то, что Иисус совершил в Иерусалиме во время праздника Пасхи, потому что они также были на том празднестве.

46 Иисус снова пришёл в город Кана в Галилее, где Он превратил воду в вино. В это время в городе Капернаум жил один из царских чиновников, у которого был болен сын.

47 Этот чиновник, услышав, что Иисус пришёл из Иудеи в Галилею и, придя к Нему, стал умолять, чтобы Тот отправился в Капернаум и исцелил его сына, который был при смерти.

48 Иисус сказал ему: «Пока не увидите знамений и чудес, вы не поверите в Меня!»

49 Царский чиновник просил Иисуса: «Господин, приди, пока мой ребёнок не умер!»

50 Иисус ответил: «Иди домой. Твой сын будет жить». Человек поверил словам Иисуса и пошёл домой.

51 По дороге он встретил своих слуг, которые сказали ему, что его сын чувствует себя хорошо.

52 Чиновник спросил их, когда ребёнку стало лучше, и они ответили: «Жар спал у него вчера около часа пополудни».

53 И тогда отец мальчика понял, что это случилось в тот самый час, когда Иисус сказал ему: «Твой сын будет жить». И он поверил в Иисуса, а вместе с ним и все его домашние.

54 Это было второе знамение, которое Иисус сотворил после того, как Он вернулся из Иудеи в Галилею.

Chapter 4

1 WHEN Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard he made many disciples, and was baptizing more people than John,

2 Though Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples;

3 He left Judaea and came again to Galilee.

4 He had to go through Samaritan territory.

5 Then he came to a Samaritan city, called Sychar, near the field which Jacob had given to his son Joseph.

6 Now Jacob's well was there; and Jesus was tired by the fatigue of the journey, and sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

7 And there came a woman from Samaria to draw water; and Jesus said to her, Give me water to drink.

8 His disciples had entered into the city to buy food for themselves.

9 The Samaritan woman said to him, How is it? You are a Jew, and yet you ask me for a drink, who am a Samaritan woman? For Jews have no social intercourse with Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said to her, If you only knew the gift of God, and who is the man who said to you, Give me a drink; you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.

11 The woman said to him, My lord, you have no leather bucket, and no deep well; where do you get the living water?

12 Why, are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well, and he himself drank from it, and his sons and his sheep?

13 Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;

14 But whoever drinks of the water which I give him, shall never thirst; but the same water which I give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to life everlasting.

15 The woman said to him, My lord, give me of this water, so that I may not thirst again, and need not come and draw from here.

16 Jesus said to her, Go and call your husband, and come here.

17 She said to him, I have no husband; Jesus said to her, You said well, I have no husband;

18 For you have had five husbands; and the one you now have is not your husband; what you said is true.

19 Then the woman said to him, My lord, I see that you are a prophet.

20 Our forefathers worshipped on this mountain; and you say the place where men must worship is in Jerusalem.

21 Jesus said to her, Woman, believe me, the time is coming, when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem they will worship the Father.

22 You worship what you do not know; but we worship what we do know; for salvation is from the Jews.

23 But the time is coming, and it is here, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father also desires worshippers such as these.

24 For God is Spirit; and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman said to him, I know that the Messiah (Christ) is coming; when he is come, he will teach us everything.

26 Jesus said to her, I am he, who is speaking to you.

27 While he was talking, his disciples came, and they were surprised that he was talking with a married woman; but no one said to him, What do you want? or, What are you talking with her?

28 The woman then left her water jar, and went to the city and said to the men,

29 Come and see a man who told me everything which I have done; why, is he the Christ?

30 And the men went out of the city, and came to him.

31 During the interval his disciples begged him, saying, Teacher, eat.

32 But he said to them, I have food to eat, of which you do not know.

33 The disciples said among themselves, Why, did any man bring him something to eat?

34 Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to finish his work.

35 Do you not say that after four months comes the harvest? behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look at the fields, which have turned white and have long been ready for the harvest.

36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruits to life everlasting; so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.

37 For in this case the saying is true, One sows and another reaps.

38 I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor; for others labored, and you have entered into their labor.

39 A great many Samaritans of that city believed in him, because of the word of that woman, who testified, He told me everything which I have done.

40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them; and he stayed with them two days.

41 And a great many believed in him because of his word;

42 And they were saying to the woman, Henceforth it is not because of your word that we believe him; for we ourselves have heard and know, that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

43 Two days later, Jesus departed thence and went to Galilee.

44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet is not honored in his own city.

45 When he came to Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him, for they had seen all the wonders he did at Jerusalem during the feast; for they also had come to the feast.

46 Then Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And there was at Capernaum a servant of a king, whose son was sick.

47 This man heard that Jesus had come from Judaea to Galilee; so he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son; for he was near death.

48 Jesus said to him, Unless you see miracles and wonders, you will not believe.

49 The king's servant said to him, My Lord, come down before the boy is dead.

50 Jesus said to him, Go, your son is healed. And the man believed the word that Jesus said to him and went away.

51 And as he was going down, his servants met him and brought him good news, saying, Your son is healed.

52 And he asked them, At what time was he healed? They said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him.

53 And his father knew that it was at that very hour when Jesus told him, Your son is healed; so he himself believed and his whole household.

54 This is again the second miracle which Jesus did, after he came from Judaea to Galilee.

3 и поэтому Он покинул Иудею и отправился обратно в Галилею.	3 He left Judaea and came again to Galilee.
4 Однако Ему нужно было пройти через Самарию.	4 He had to go through Samaritan territory.

9 Самаритянка спросила: «Как это Ты, иудей, просишь у меня, самаритянки, воды?» Иудеи не общались с самаритянами.	9 The Samaritan woman said to him, How is it? You are a Jew, and yet you ask me for a drink, who am a Samaritan woman? For Jews have no social intercourse with Samaritans.
10 Иисус ответил: «Если бы ты знала, что Бог даёт людям и Кто это просит тебя: „Дай Мне попить”, то ты сама просила бы у Меня, и Я дал бы тебе живой воды».	10 Jesus answered and said to her, If you only knew the gift of God, and who is the man who said to you, Give me a drink; you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.
11 Женщина сказала Ему: «Господин, ведь у Тебя даже ведра нет, а колодец глубок. Где же Ты возьмёшь эту живую воду?	11 The woman said to him, My lord, you have no leather bucket, and no deep well; where do you get the living water?
12 Неужели Ты превосходишь нашего праотца Иакова, который дал нам этот колодец и сам пил из него со своими детьми и скотом!»	12 Why, are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well, and he himself drank from it, and his sons and his sheep?
13 Иисус ответил ей на это: «Всякого, кто попьёт этой воды, вскоре снова будет мучить жажда,	13 Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;
14 тот же, кто попьёт воды, которую дам ему Я, больше никогда не испытает жажды. А вода, которую дам ему Я, превратится внутри него в источник, из которого бьёт вечная жизнь».	14 But whoever drinks of the water which I give him, shall never thirst; but the same water which I give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to life everlasting.
15 Женщина попросила: «Господин, дай мне этой воды, чтобы я никогда больше не испытывала жажды и чтобы мне не пришлось больше приходить сюда за водой».	15 The woman said to him, My lord, give me of this water, so that I may not thirst again, and need not come and draw from here.
16 Он сказал ей: «Пойди, позови своего мужа и возвращайся».	16 Jesus said to her, Go and call your husband, and come here.
17 Женщина ответила: «У меня нет мужа». Иисус продолжил: «Ты правильно сказала, что у тебя нет мужа.	17 She said to him, I have no husband; Jesus said to her, You said well, I have no husband;
18 У тебя было их пятеро, а тот, с кем сейчас живёшь, тебе не муж. Ты правду сказала».	18 For you have had five husbands; and the one you now have is not your husband; what you said is true.
19 Женщина молвила: «Господин, я вижу, что Ты пророк.	19 Then the woman said to him, My lord, I see that you are a prophet.
20 Наши отцы приходили для поклонения на эту гору, но вы, иудеи, утверждаете, что люди должны идти для поклонения в Иерусалим».	20 Our forefathers worshipped on this mountain; and you say the place where men must worship is in Jerusalem.
21 Иисус ответил: «Женщина, поверь Мне, приближается время, когда вы будете поклоняться Отцу не на этой горе и не в Иерусалиме.	21 Jesus said to her, Woman, believe me, the time is coming, when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem they will worship the Father.
22 Вы, самаритяне, поклоняетесь тому, кого не понимаете. Мы же, иудеи, понимаем, Кому поклоняемся, так как спасение приходит от иудеев.	22 You worship what you do not know; but we worship what we do know; for salvation is from the Jews.
23 Но приближается время, и оно уже настало, когда истинно поклоняющиеся Отцу станут поклоняться Ему в духе и в истине. Именно таких поклонников ищет себе Отец.	23 But the time is coming, and it is here, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father also desires worshippers such as these.
24 Бог есть Дух, и потому те, кто Ему поклоняются, должны поклоняться Ему в Духе и истине».	24 For God is Spirit; and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
25 Женщина сказала: «Я знаю, что приближается Мессия, что означает Христос. Когда Он явится, то расскажет нам обо всём».	25 The woman said to him, I know that the Messiah (Christ) is coming; when he is come, he will teach us everything.
26 «Это — Я, — ответил ей Иисус. — Я, говорящий с тобой, — Мессия».	26 Jesus said to her, I am he, who is speaking to you.
27 В это время возвратились Его ученики и очень удивились, что Он разговаривает с женщиной. Но никто не сказал: «Чего Ты хочешь?» — или: «Почему Ты разговариваешь с ней?»	27 While he was talking, his disciples came, and they were surprised that he was talking with a married woman; but no one said to him, What do you want? or, What are you talking with her?
28 Женщина оставила свой кувшин с водой и возвратилась обратно в город. Она сказала людям:	28 The woman then left her water jar, and went to the city and said to the men,
29 «Пойдёмте со мной, и вы увидите Человека, Который рассказал мне обо всём, что я делала в жизни! Может быть, Он Христос?»	29 Come and see a man who told me everything which I have done; why, is he the Christ?
30 Они вышли из города и направились к Нему.	30 And the men went out of the city, and came to him.
31 Тем временем ученики Иисуса упрашивали Его: «Учитель, поешь чего-нибудь!»	31 During the interval his disciples begged him, saying, Teacher, eat.
32 Но Он сказал им: «У Меня есть пища, о которой вы не знаете!»	32 But he said to them, I have food to eat, of which you do not know.
33 Тогда Его ученики стали спрашивать друг у друга: «Может быть, кто-то принёс Ему еду?»	33 The disciples said among themselves, Why, did any man bring him something to eat?
34 Иисус же ответил на это: «Моя пища в том, чтобы исполнять волю Пославшего Меня и закончить порученную Мне работу.	34 Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to finish his work.
35 Засевая поле, вы часто говорите: „Ещё четыре месяца, а там и жатва”. А Я вам говорю: „Откройте свои глаза и посмотрите на поля, которые уже созрели для жатвы.	35 Do you not say that after four months comes the harvest? behold, I say to you, Lift up your eyes, and look at the fields, which have turned white and have long been ready for the harvest.
36 Тот, кто жнёт, уже получает плату и собирает урожай для вечной жизни, чтобы и сеятель, и жнец оба могли радоваться”.	36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruits to life everlasting; so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.
37 Правдива пословица: „Один сеет, другой жнёт”.	37 For in this case the saying is true, One sows and another reaps.
38 Я послал вас, чтобы вы жали то, над чем не трудились сами. Другие трудились, а вы собрали плоды их трудов».	38 I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor; for others labored, and you have entered into their labor.
39 Многие самаритяне из того города поверили в Иисуса, потому что эта женщина сказала им о Нём: «Он рассказал мне обо всём, что я когда-либо делала».	39 A great many Samaritans of that city believed in him, because of the word of that woman, who testified, He told me everything which I have done.
40 Самаритяне пошли к Иисусу и попросили Его остаться с ними, и Он оставался с ними два дня.	40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them; and he stayed with them two days.
41 И многие уверовали, услышав Его учения.	41 And a great many believed in him because of his word;
42 Они сказали той женщине: «Сначала мы поверили благодаря твоим словам. Теперь же мы верим, потому что сами услышали и знаем, что Этот Человек в самом деле Спаситель мира».	42 And they were saying to the woman, Henceforth it is not because of your word that we believe him; for we ourselves have heard and know, that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
43 Два дня спустя Иисус покинул Самарию и отправился в Галилею.	43 Two days later, Jesus departed thence and went to Galilee.
44 Ещё ранее Иисус Сам сказал, что пророка не чтут в Его отечестве.	44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet is not honored in his own city.
45 И когда Он пришёл в Галилею, галилеяне радушно приняли Его. 47 Этот чиновник, услышав, что Иисус пришёл из Иудеи в Галилею и, придя к Нему, стал умолять, чтобы Тот отправился в Капернаум и исцелил его сына, который был при смерти.	47 This man heard that Jesus had come from Judaea to Galilee; so he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son; for he was near death.
48 Иисус сказал ему: «Пока не увидите знамений и чудес, вы не поверите в Меня!»	48 Jesus said to him, Unless you see miracles and wonders, you will not believe.
49 Царский чиновник просил Иисуса: «Господин, приди, пока мой ребёнок не умер!»	49 The king's servant said to him, My Lord, come down before the boy is dead.
50 Иисус ответил: «Иди домой. Твой сын будет жить». Человек поверил словам Иисуса и пошёл домой.	50 Jesus said to him, Go, your son is healed. And the man believed the word that Jesus said to him and went away.
51 По дороге он встретил своих слуг, которые сказали ему, что его сын чувствует себя хорошо.	51 And as he was going down, his servants met him and brought him good news, saying, Your son is healed.
52 Чиновник спросил их, когда ребёнку стало лучше, и они ответили: «Жар спал у него вчера около часа пополудни».	52 And he asked them, At what time was he healed? They said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him.
53 И тогда отец мальчика понял, что это случилось в тот самый час, когда Иисус сказал ему: «Твой сын будет жить». И он поверил в Иисуса, а вместе с ним и все его домашние.	53 And his father knew that it was at that very hour when Jesus told him, Your son is healed; so he himself believed and his whole household.
54 Это было второе знамение, которое Иисус сотворил после того, как Он вернулся из Иудеи в Галилею.	54 This is again the second miracle which Jesus did, after he came from Judaea to Galilee.
